The Running Thread - 2016

Since @LSUlakes is busy with his "baking", I'm going to hijack the QOTD and bring in the "How to Annoy an Ironman/Runner/Cyclist" fun that's been going around on social media the past few days. Ready?

How to Annoy a Disney Runner (in no more than four words)...and GO!

1. Are bibs out yet?
2. Sorry, no more deferrals

  • What's the race forecast?
  • Why's my butt cold?

So I had some miscalculations on the timing of my announcement. Obviously I should have consulted @Keels for help with the math. (Keels, if I mistaken you for someone else with the math joke I am sorry). So with my online running friends I share with you the following:

Still very early along in the process here, so any thoughts and prayers from the group will always be appreciated. DW and I are beyond excited!

Kinda hijacking the thread today with a lot of non running stuff. Currently this is a secret as we plan to tell family/friends over the next few weeks in person as we see them for the holidays.
Congrats!

ATTQOTD:

I'm running Barb's 5K and the Jeff Galloway 13.1 races in Atlanta this weekend. Its going to be 28 for the whole 5K on Saturday and 28 at the start on Sunday! I'm NOT a happy camper. It was 70 for this race last year. (Perfect IMO.)

I hate the cold. I'm planning on wearing tights, sparkle skirt, two shirts, gloves and a hat. Hopefully this will work. And hopefully it will warm up on Sunday - its supposed to be 50 for the high later in the day.
Good luck this weekend. I'm doing a a 5k on Saturday as well, the Cross Your Heart Glen Raven Trail Race, and I'm really dreading 26 degrees. My husband is RD, so no backing out. Say hi to Jeff and Barb! Lol

@LSUlakes what a beautiful family in a great video. I can't wait to see the new, expanded video next year! Congratulations!

I logged in and had no alerts. Then I looked at the group and saw LSULakes' announcement. How could Disboards not think that was worthy of an alert! Congratulations!

I did my long run yesterday...nearly 6 miles. It was the perfect weather...51 degrees with a slight mist. Cool enough that I needed my jacket but not so cold that my body hurt. The only downside is that the track is covered in orange sand and it became packed down and hard after three days of rain. My ankles are feeling that this morning. And, my new Bluetooth headphones were awesome except that running bluetooth, music and two apps at the same time drained my phone battery in an hour!

ATQOD: I don't check the weather until I'm packing for the trip. And really, it depends on where and when I'm racing. Florida in February can vary quite a bit in weather and I will need to bring jackets, gloves, hats and a poncho. Florida in April isn't likely to be cold but it could be rainy. I'll bring rain gear but probably not gloves and hats.

ATQOD2: Wine glasses sold out! I don't like Disney. Dead stop in chute (seriously, keep jogging on through people!)
