Private Cabanas at Magic Kingdom: Last Day to Rent One - February 17, 2017

Thank you @GADisneyDad14 for your great review!! We have one of these booked for next Sunday the 11th, the day we have tickets to the party. I'm really debating if we'll keep it or maybe do another MVMCP on Tuesday, our second MK day instead. I love the personalized service you said you get with the cabana, but I wish details were a little more ironed out. I haven't received a call to confirm information from a CM yet. I want to make sure we get those reserved parade spots if we keep it! :) Thanks again!!

Okay, okay!! I'm sorry I even asked the question!! Honestly these people are paying for 23 people to go to Disney and then go on a Disney cruise.....I think they can afford to rent all the tents if they want to. I don't think they would ever try to scam Disney. They have no need to want to do that. Having such a large group, I just thought renting the cabanas would be a great place for them to meet.

If you wondered if they could interchange the lanyards so they all could use teh cabana, you wondered if there was a way around that pesky 8 person limit.

These are why I would totally think about renting one if my entire family of 7 went. My daughter has some health issues and while she uses a wheelchair at Disney she still gets exhausted. Our youngest is autistic and gets overwhelmed. If we were going to be there all day this would be a good option instead of taking the boat back over to Fort Wilderness where we stay. I think the cost is reasonable given the amenities.

I do as well. It is pricey, but if you really wanted to plan an entire day in the MK, and you knew that for some reason not all of you could manage that without compromising health, this might me a reasonable way to address the circumstances.

Yes, renting cabanaS would be a great place to meet (meaning 3 cabanas for 23 people). I think people jumped down your throat because you suggested renting ONE cabana for 23 people, which, in essence, would be scamming Disney.

So the parade/fireworks viewing is one of the topics I've been meaning to give additional thoughts on. Of any of the details I wrote about this is the one area I have a feeling could end up being different for everyone. This is purely me speculating and reacting to what I saw. Part of me was even hesitant to post about our experience in case this particular component turned out to change. I never did see this as an official amenity on any published material, only Twitter/blog chatter.

The reserved viewing areas are only so big and there are other people/groups that have access to them. When Disney let me know about the holiday parade, they used the term "we were able to secure four spots for you." The fact that at first it was not available and then was gave me the impression the Tomorrowland cabana managers were having to coordinate (if not negotiate) with other parts of the park and other demand generators of reserved spots, which surely is the case. There are countless groups - be it paid VIPs or other special interest groups - that I'm sure Disney is trying to accommodate for things like this on a daily basis.

We were the only ones in a cabana on our day. If all four were filled with 8 people each, there is no way 32 people could even fit in the small reserved spot we had for the holiday parade in addition to the other people that were there. While I'm assuming Disney could have come up with another location for such a circumstance, I don't know that for a fact.

Until we see more first hand experiences I'd probably recomend to keep an open mind about the parade/fireworks viewings, or at least stay flexible just in case.

(Not that you asked, but if it were me, I'd go to two parties over the cabana. Obviously a lot of factors involved, but that's my gut reaction.)

The reserved spaces, or lack thereof would make a difference to me. We are not normally RD to park close folks, and I would not change our touring habits if I still had to dedicate a lot of time to staking out our viewing spots for the parades and fireworks.

Im glad you discussed this aspect of the cabana rental.

Hmmmm....this is great extra info. I was going to wait and see if someone calls me by Wednesday or Thursday and then decide. If they're unsure about the reserved spots I'll probably go ahead and cancel and we'll just add another party night. I think the reserved spots should be included for the price and I get that there are lots of people to accommodate, but really, not having to jostle for space and wait around for a long time was the biggest perk we were looking for!

Disney won't add specific wording for a reserved spot for the parade during a Party night as part of the Cabana amenities because it's only available for Cabana guests who also have purchased tickets for the Party.

Disney also has to consider that if they did add that night parade perk as a listed amenity, Cabana guests who rent during a regular park day would ask to be compensated in some manner because there are no longer night parades on regular park days.

Thanks! That makes sense. We do have tickets to the party on Sunday so will hope for the best. I'll report back if I hear from a CM this week!

Very good point. I keep forgetting there isn't a parade on non-party nights right now. :-(

Mine too! LOL! One time my little DGD wanted to shop in the Emporium just before we left for the day. Bud leaned on a trash can, and I looked over to seem his eyes closed. One of the lovely Main Street Ladies came over and teased the dickens out of him! LOL!

That's fab.

A wdw example which immediately comes to mind regarding my dozy dh;
We were returning from Disney springs -in the very early afternoon!-
dh was standing on the bus was talking one minute & snoring the next
I think the folks across from us thought he was drunk-me & ds were just laughing at him.

LOL!!! This is my DH!!! When my DGD was younger he always took her and her girlfriend to the movies, and he would doze off. I guess one afternoon he started snoring, and when he woke up, he saw tht the girls had moved to another row! "Nope....we don't know him!" Kady still teases him about it!

I haven't read the whole thread and this may have been answered but how do you keep other people out of the tents - especially when the person(s) that rented it are not present and are out and about in the park?

They are cordoned off by huge hedge walls to the point the entrance isn't even obvious. They are constantly watched by CMs who work with the tent dwellers in meeting their needs. Right now it appears there are lanyards/maybe wristbands that you must be wearing to enter ........ but after a couple hours the CMs should recognize everyone who should be there.

At first I was like "Heck no!!!" but the cost is comparable to what we pay for party tickets for 8 people and we don't blink an eye paying for that. It would have some benefits for us, but I could think of so many other things to do with $700. For example, by combining the money we would have spent on rooms that night + the $700 + a room discount, we could probably just stay in two studios at CR, which would be a much better value for us. We could add 3 TS with $700, which would give us a lot of air conditioned "down time" + great food. We also do 2-3 week trips, so we have plenty of time for rest. Now if we were doing a weekend trip with one day at MK, staying open to close, already had CR booked and already had at least 2 TS paid for and STILL had $700 to blow, then we'd probably think about it. It will definitely be useful for some people, just not for us.

Anyone else reserved one of these recently? I'd like to hear an update on the reserved fireworks/parade viewing spots. I normally wouldn't go for one of these, but I reserved one for Christmas day because it will be nice to have a quiet rest place with the crazy crowds...and also to have reserved parade and fireworks viewing. Will cancel though if no reserved viewing area.
