Private Cabanas at Magic Kingdom: Last Day to Rent One - February 17, 2017

I have an autistic child where this might be a huge help - is it quiet? I'm wondering if it'd be a good spot to recharge.

I'm going nuts here, I swear that we have been at the MK, watching Christmas parades on non MVMCP nights. When did that change?

I've been going in early December since 1998 and there was never a Christmas parade on non-party nights, it was either Spectro or MSEP (before this year). That's part of the selling points for MVMCP tickets. I've never gone later in the month when they started showing it during the day.

I'm the poster who rented one. Quiet is relative in a theme park I guess. I thought it was reasonably quiet, but you can certainly hear the "background buzz" of Tomorrowland with its various noises. I found it nice actually. You know you're in a theme park, but it's a pretty quiet spot overall.

Note the train tracks are very close. For example, the "back two" cabanas a roughly 10 feet away from the tracks. You're definitely going to hear the engine roll by every 15-20 mins (you can't really see the train through the bushes). I thought this was great and my DS6 loved it - he's into trains. It's only particularly loud for maybe 10-15 seconds as the engine goes by.

We don't have special needs but for our purposes, "a spot to recharge" pretty much sums up one of the main reasons we enjoyed our experience. We were in the MK 15+ hours that day and would pop in every once in awhile to hydrate, enjoy a snack, just relax for a bit. DS did end up taking a short nap, train and all. I could have napped as well.

Hope that helps, happy to answer any questions.

Completely off topic but I was looking around different things to do on NYE at Disney and came across a specialty cruise that launches from one of the MK resorts, on a pontoon boat that holds up to 10 people. Includes a pre party that serves appetizers, desserts and beverages and then the actual "cruise" includes snacks and soft drinks. The whole thing starts at 9:30 for the NYE fireworks at midnight. Price with tax $957.44 :D
The Grand Yacht 1 on the same night for 13 people $2,022.44
Well, at $100 a head, if you had 10 friends (or even 5 couples), it wouldn't be a bad deal. But one person shelling it ALL out for their family would be painful.

We did a pontoon Wishes cruise for my 40th and I thought it was worth every penny. ETA, I'd probably more more likely to puke up $1000 than to ever attempt to watch fireworks in NYE from inside any park!!! LOL

Anyone else reserved one of these recently? I'd like to hear an update on the reserved fireworks/parade viewing spots. I normally wouldn't go for one of these, but I reserved one for Christmas day because it will be nice to have a quiet rest place with the crazy crowds...and also to have reserved parade and fireworks viewing. Will cancel though if no reserved viewing area.

We also have one reserved for Christmas Day! We may be tent neighbors :)

I'm still on the fence, about 70% sure I want it and 30% considering canceling. It's only 5 of us, so without the 3 extras ppl it's a lot more expensive per person

Hi! We're here now and I'm rushing around so I'll quickly let y'all know we rented one of these yesterday for our family of four with a DS7 and DD5. We were very happy with the parade spots! We were able to watch the 3pm parade and the MVMCP parade at 8:30 from under the Christmas tree on Main Street. We didn't fare as well with the fireworks. They said in front of the Plaza and we couldn't really decide where we should be and just found a good spot close by and then my DD5 fell asleep in my lap. :)

We were also in the back tent like PP. my kids loved that they had some space to safely run around and get their wiggles out while DH and I rested our stroller pushing feet.

I can answer quick questions and will post more when we're home!

When they said by Plaza Inn, maybe they meant the previous FP viewing area on that side of Main Street?

I have an employment idea for when/if I ever retire to Florida! For half the price of these cabanas, I will follow my "patron" around all day with a lawn chair, an umbrella and a small cooler stocked with drinks, fruit, cheese and other snacks. Neck pillow upgrades available...

So I'm assuming those white couches either have removable washable slip covers, or are a non-fabric material that can be wiped down. Otherwise, ick.

Do you get to keep that Monorail blanket/towel that they put in there?

Just wanted to thank you for all the great info on the Kingdom Cabanas - we kept our reservation for one on December 30 and just got back from our trip. We loved everything about it except for the fireworks experience. They still don't have that process created, so our viewing for both fireworks shows did not go as explained but we still had fun nonetheless. Our group was two parents, one nine year old and a senior citizen. If anyone has specific questions, I'm happy to answer. The one thing I didn't come across in your discussion above is that when you order food to the cabana, you can use your quick service dining allotments which was an unexpected surprise. There is a phone number given at the start of your rental and you can literally text your order to the cabana attendant which was a huge convenience on an extremely busy day in MK.

No, you do not get to keep the blanket, but if you would like to request additional, they are happy to bring you more to accommodate your party. There were portable space heaters inside the cabana since we were there on a very cold day.

I think we were your neighbors! We loved our cabana and hope they stay. I have a child that is easily fatigued and we have never been able to stay in MK _all_ day before - it was magic for us. <3

I can't afford to do it every day every trip, but I will save up my pennies to rent one for at least one day each trip from now on!

Thanks for sharing. At least I'm not the only person to book one! ;-)

Mind if I ask, what did they tell you about the fireworks viewing? I never did say anything about our experience since it ended up not being a big deal, but probably should have.

I think there would be TONS of folks booking these if they had the extra cash flow and I imagine they will become part of future travelers budgets as they become more well known. If they build these themed for each area they are in, I expect a wait list.

Did you have reserved area for the FOF parade?

The day we visited there were two fireworks shows - 7:30 and 11:45. We were told to meet at the Tomorrowland Terrace dessert party check in area where we would be escorted to the Plaza Garden East (right in front of the Plaza Restaurant). When we arrived, no one knew what we were talking about. We were standing next to other cabana tenants just as confused and frustrated as we were. The cast members at the Terrace and the Plaza Garden called their Team Lead who told us that we did not have reserved viewing until 11:45 and I explained that I had checked when I reserved, checked again before the trip and confirmed again that very morning with the attendant. Second fireworks at 11:45 had just as much confusion - the cabana team and the dessert party team simply could not get the communication figured out.

The day we attended there was a parade at noon and at 3:30 - both the Very Merry Christmas parade - the reserved viewing was at the flagpole at the front of Main Street and we attended at 3:30. This cast member was looking for us and she was specifically dedicated to the area reserved for cabana guests only. It was the most amazing view we could have asked for and there was plenty of room. Parade viewers kept trying to come into the roped off area before the parade started and the cast member politely redirected them. The reserved parade viewing for the Kingdom Cabana guests was so well organized and perfectly executed - an absolute treat!
