*~~Official December 2016 Thread~~*

I just paid my balance in full! We're staying at the Blue Tree Resort with friends, but are touring the moderate resorts. Dec 4: Port Orleans Riverside, Dec. 6: Coronado Springs, Dec. 8: Caribbean Beach.

I'm so stinking excited for our trip!!! My twin DDs and I are doing a girls only trip - they just turned 18 and this is their last year at home so this is so special. We weren't planning a trip because we only have one day left on our never expire passes but DDs and I were daydreaming back in May and cooked up our plan.

12/11 - drive halfway and spend night in Savannah, GA. Never been and looking forward to a nice dinner. Without DH driving, we need to split up the drive time from North Carolina.

12/12 - arrive in Orlando and head straight to DS. Lunch at EOS and check out all the new shops. We just realized that DDs have never been to DS during the day so this will be great now that the construction walls are mostly down.

6:30 sleigh ride at Fort Wilderness and maybe stick around for the Chip and Dale campfire singalong and movie before going to the hotel to check in (offsite)

12/13 - Crystal Palace PPO ADR and then spend the day at MK. Sad to use my last never expire ticket. Leave MK at 7 and head to DS for ghirardelli sundaes for dinner.

12/14 - resort touring day! Park at MK and start at Poly for Mickey waffles at Captain Cook's. Then to GF and Contemporary. Drive over to Yacht and Beach clubs for holiday decoration touring and maybe BWI. Off to Animal Kingdom Lodge by 4pm to see some animals before it gets dark. Then to Kidani Village for 7pm ADR at Sanaa. Our favorite! Can't wait for the bread service.

12/15 - more Mickey waffles at Roaring Fork to tour Wilderness Lodge holiday decorations. Then off to the outlets for some shopping. Park at MK around 2pm and head to Poly for a late lunch at Tambu Lounge or whatever else we find. Then in entrance line for MVMCP by 3:45!! We want to be the last people left in the park after the party

12/16 - extend the magic as long as possible with a departure day lunch at DS. Haven't decided where yet - maybe Raglans. Then back to Savannah for the night.

It will probably be another four or more years before we make another trip. Going to wait for Star Wars world which DH will be excited to visit. Maybe F&W after DDs turn 21.

We'll be at the MVMCP on 12/15 too!!! If you want to find us, just look behind you as you're exiting the park. We'll be the last family leaving!!!! Ha ha. Just kidding......sort of.

But seriously........GAME ON!!!

Well, those of us who have been anxious to see the famous celebrity "TBD" as our Canclelight Processional narrator Dec 7, 8 & 9, I have some bad news. TBD is no longer performing. Instead, they've been replaced by Anthony Mackie.

In all seriousness, I'm pretty excited to see Falcon read the Christmas story.

Looking for a few more families to share in our Memory Maker! I have our family and one more so far. Between the two of us, I believe our dates are Dec 17-31. Anyone?

We just booked a last minute December trip! Glad for an invite to this board, I'll be looking through it for sure, thanks!

Our trip is 12/17-24 at BWV. MVMCP on Dec. 22

Good morning everyone,

We really really need this vacation. We lost one of our puppy kids on 11/4. He was only 8 years old and it was really unexpected. I know he is still here with us in spirit but DH and I have been incredibly down in the dumps. We really really need this disney magic.

Today is the first day I feel up to looking at Disney related things and trying to pull myself out of this funk. I wanted to share our plans and try to get excited! *Small disclaimer* - DH and I have two other trips to the world scheduled. DH and I had this trip scheduled as a gulf coast trip. We added these two and a half days in order to meet up with my sisters and their significant others who we later discovered were traveling the same time we were. So if our plans seem weak, that's why.

*our AP Magic Bands have arrived!*

12/11 Arrival day - We are on the first flight out of NH in the morning, with a landing time of 9:30 am! woot woot! We are renting a car because we will be driving to Tampa. (The gulf coast is my second favorite happy place). My sisters and their significant others will be arriving from another airport right around the same time so we are planning on meeting them at MCO!
-Checking in to OKW for one night
-Then heading to Epcot for a soarin' FP
-After Epcot for the morning/early afternoon we will be heading over to MK
-Dinner that night is at Liberty Tree Tavern with everyone :)

12/12
-Checking out of OKW and checking in to GFV
-We are heading over to AK
-FP's are scheduled for EE and FotLK
-We are splitting up for supper, DH and I will be heading over to Citricos and the rest of the gang will be eating at Cape May Cafe
-That night we will be Holiday decoration viewing

12/13
-Checking out of GFV :(
-Heading over to HS
-FP's for Star Tours and TSM
-Lunch scheduled for Morimoto Asia and some shopping around Disney Springs
-Probably heading back to Epcot
-That night we are saying goodbye to the rest of the gang, Sad face, and heading over to Tampa

28 more days!!!!

Our first set of magic bands were shipped today!! I still haven't told our kids that we are going. I think I will wait until mid week the week before we go so they don't have long to count down. My kids are dd13, dd8 and ds6. Anyone have any ideas how to tell them? I thought of surprising them on the way to the airport but my oldest will need to know for school so she can hopefully get some homework before we leave since she is missing school for a week. The last time that we planned to surprise them my brother let the cat out of the bag!

I have a question maybe someone can help me with..

We a reservation for Ohana this December. It's our first time eating here so I'm not sure what to expect. I know the food served and how it's served but that's where I'm kinda worried. If I'm not mistaken you do get steak served to you, but how is the steak cooked? This may seem like an odd thing to be worried about but my boyfriend is soooo picky about steak. It has to be well done, if he sees pink he usually won't eat it. So with that being said am I likely to run into this steak problem with him?

The steak is cooked on skewers, and I believe I remember it was well cooked. When you are cooking pieces that small it's difficult not to cook them all the way through. I would think if they are not well enough done you could ask your server to have them throw that skewer back on for a minute or two.

Awesome, thanks! I don't know why but this thought just occurred to me last night. I've been wanting to try this place for awhile and just wanted to make sure about the steak so he'll enjoy it too.

Not sure if this has been asked yet. What are you guys planning on wearing? I mean weather wise I know the days are warm but cooler nights.

I can't remember how Ohana did it because I was there 6 years ago but at the Brazilian steakhouses that serve their steak in a similar way, they would ask how I liked it cooked. DH likes well done & I like medium. The steak would be in different spots on skewer & the server knew where to cut it from.

We like our steak well done too. When we were at Ohana in August, our server gave us steak that looked quite charred on the outside, but it was rare inside. When our server came back we asked for some well done meat. It was no problem. Maybe just let your server know ahead of time.

Hi, we're also going next month and have some loose plans but need to figure it out more. Our dates are 12/27-12/31 staying at okw and bay lake. Planning on 1 long park day (12/28) and then holiday/non park stuff the other days. I look forward to reading other posts much as I can for some more ideas, been to Disney many times before but our first time going during Christmas-NY week!

We keep checking. I know its still early but days are expected to have highs in the high 70s so currently planning on layers since I'm avoiding a bag like the plague! T-shirt,long sleeves, fleece zip up hoodies.

Capris, jeans, leggings, tshirts & maybe some sleeveless shirts. I'm going to bring a light jacket or sweatshirt for mornings/evenings. Since we're coming from NJ, I'll have things like gloves & a heavier coat with me if needed. My DH is planning on wearing shorts on most days. I'm always cold & he's always hot.
