Be Our Guest Lunch on the DP Questions

The line on 9/25 was super long and very hot when we didn't pre-order. Wish we did - but was travelling ng with a friend who constantly changes her mind about what she feels like eating.

Just to tag on to this thread, is it absolutely necessary to pre-order? What is the down side of not doing so? Long lines? Thanks

We didn't pre-order (my hubby refused to) and waited around half an hour to order. I wish I had forced him to pre-order the night before as there was no wait at all if you had pre-ordered.

1. Yes, but your whole party must pay with a single DDP.
we have an ADR (actually 2, breakfast and lunch) for 6 people in 2 rooms so do not have a single DDP.

made the ADRs at 180 days, would have planned differently if I had known I needed an ADR for each room. The breakfast is PPO which really messes things up. unless I use my MB one day for all of us and sis uses hers for the other meal. If we can do that.

They are unable to split checks for pre-orders. So the entire ADR must be paid for by one room, or cash, if you pre-order.

we did last trip but that was 2013.
thanks

I don't think there is any way to split into two reservations without canceling the original one. And, this reservation was way too hard to get to chance that! And, we are two different families - so too confusing to put on one card and make sure, we somehow make sure things come out even in the end. I may call to inquire though. Thanks.
did you call?

thanks we are on the DDP so I will pay for one meal with my credits and have my sister pay for the other.
That is allowed now, right? 3 in the room but using 6 credits at one meal

I just called now (re: splitting pre-ordered meal between 2 dining plans), the CM had a hard time understanding what I was asking; then, assured me more than once that I could. Not sure I have a lot of confidence in his response! Based on what I have read here about long lines, I am going to pre-order. This meal is on the first full day of our trip - so, we will have ample time to figure out who owes who the next CS meal if we have to put it all on one card.

Another question for those in-the-know, I see I have the button now to pre-order. Can I click on it and browse around at the menu without actually having to complete the order? Also, I am thinking, we may want to wait until the day before to order to have a better idea of what we feel like having, is that too late? And, is it just as easy to do from a smart phone as from a computer? Thanks!

I wouldn't. The disclaimer on the order screen says you can't split the tab. (Actual quote: "Please note we are unable to split checks for orders placed online." Seems unambiguous to me!)

Yes.

I think you can do it night before.

I don't think it's supported in the app. On a smartphone browser I think it's awkward. Your opinion may vary. I don't think it was designed for mobile use, though; if it was, it was designed poorly.

....

We've ordered both at midnight the night before as well as the morning of for lunch ADRs. We've also always been asked if we want to change anything on our order when we check in and pay. One time my daughter changed her entire order at check-in and it wasn't a problem. So don't worry about changing your mind between the time you place your order online and when you actually get to the restaurant to check in.

us too on BOG on our first day and it's a PPO breakfast so if we can't preorder it kind of defeats the purpose of a PPO (if it remains a PPO). we have a BOG lunch later in the week so figure it will be easy enough for us to work out the dining credits.

How can you preorder your lunch? We will be on the DDP and this sounds like a wonderful way to avoid the lines for our CS meal. TIA

30 days before your ADR a link will appear in your MDE by your reservation info. click on the link to pre-order, and you can make changes to it anytime. It certainly does save time once there!

Thank you. So I'll need to make an ADR for a CS ? We're looking forward to trying the French Onion Soup

Does anyone have experience subbing the drink for something? How will this work with preordering? So for example if I wanted soup and entree and a dessert, could I order it on preorder that way and then just explain it at the check in kiosk? Thanks!

The most recent reports are that you CANNOT sub the drink for anything at BoG. They have invoked the fine print of "changed at anytime," because drinks are self-serve. There is nothing preventing unscrupulous people from getting a snack for that drink entitlement and then also helping themselves to a free drink.

Sorry for repeating the question but wanting to be sure I understand completely. We have a group of 10, staying in 3 different rooms on 3 different reservations. We are all in the friends list on MDE and on the same reservation for BOG lunch. Does this mean that if we preorder as a group of 10 then all 10 DDP credits will come off of one persons total allotment of quick service credits since it says the check can't be split? Since we have 10 meals but are only staying 7 days then this will take one person's entire allotment and 3 from another??? What am I missing? Since it is under 3 separate room reservations will each room not have their meals taken from their allotment even though all on the same MDE account? Thanks for taking time to help us out!!

Yes. All the credits will come from one of the rooms, whoever scans to pay. Or you can pay credits and cash. Has to be against the same Magic Band though.

Cannot split the check among multiple sets of dining plan.

Correct....if you pre-order. If you wait until you arrive to order, it's no problem to split the check and pay however you desire.
