Served with Flair, My Culinary Cabaret (Solo May 2016 DR), updated 11/12, Earl of Sandwich

I haven't seen a review of Boma dinner in awhile! We ate there for dinner back in 2011 and have only been for breakfast since. Your food looked so yummy!

For my drink the Shanghai Lemonade caught my eye (Lemonade with Desert Pear, Passion Fruit or Lemon Grass Flavors). I chose the Desert Pear flavor. I was pleasantly surprised when it arrived:

Isn’t that color just GORGEOUS?????????????
I've never seen or heard of this! Is this included in the refillable drinks that come with your meal, or was this something extra? I am very interested!

I present to you Fried Wontons - Skewers of fresh pineapple and cream cheese wontons, vanilla ice cream, honey-vanilla drizzle:

Aaaand here we have the entire reason I'm headed to Yak & Yeti next month... I skipped these in December, and I feel the need to rectify my grievous error!

One of my absolutely favorites! Sadly, I have to skip it on both of my trips in 2017, due to family joining me on both of them and having to build a schedule that accommodates everybody. (This is why I prefer SOLO Disney... I hate not being able to do what I want!)

I'd say that it definitely lived up to the hype.
I'm so very glad you enjoyed it!

Boma is a must for us on every trip - it is delicious! We have a breakfast and a dinner scheduled there for our Feb/March trip! :thumbsup2 Glad you enjoyed it!

Your dinner looks delicious. Especially that butternut squash soup, yum!!!! I'm a sucker for all things butter nut squash. Glad to hear it lived up to the hype for you. I've always heard good things too, but with our beloved Jiko and Sanna at AKL we just haven't made it.

I absolutely love the butternut squash soup at Boma! I think, hands down, Boma is our favorite Disney restaurant. Can't wait to head back there next month. I'm so craving that soup right now!

Your dinner at Boma looks yummy! We have only eaten there for breakfast, but we will have to try dinner sometime!

It was so so yummy! I keep reading excellent reviews about their breakfast too. Maybe I'll need to try that

Boma dinner looks awesome - lots of great selections there, and I'm glad it didn't disappoint!

Boma was one of the places I was looking forward to most so I'm really happy that it didn't disappoint

You are actually showing quite a bit of restraint - I'm sure I'd load up with twice as much, and force myself to finish it, much to my own detriment!

It was plenty enough for me and I was positively stuffed afterwards

Dinner there was fantastic!

Refillable drinks? I didn't even know that was a possible option.

You most certainly do! The trick is to remind yourself that you are there only because of those won tons and choose an entrée accordingly.

This is why I prefer SOLO Disney... I hate not being able to do what I want!

You and me both!

SO fun!! Great Reviews!!!

Welcome and thanks!

Breakfast and dinner, eh? Lucky you!

Your dinner looks delicious. Especially that butternut squash soup, yum!!!! I'm a sucker for all things butter nut squash.

I adore butternut squash especially soup done right. Actually I was at an Asian vegetarian dinner last week and we were asked what veggie we'd be and the first thing that came to mind was squash.

I absolutely love the butternut squash soup at Boma!

Isn't it perfection in a bowl??????

I'm so craving that soup right now!

Me too!

We’ve finally arrived at day 7 and my first proper breakfast of the trip. I rode the bus to Hollywood Studios and enjoyed a wonderfully pleasant stroll to Beach Club where I had a breakfast appointment with beach clad friends for 8am. Another beautiful resort! I felt that it perfectly captured that laid back, calm, warm beachy vibe with much elegance.

The art lover in me appreciated the paintings such as this one on the walls of the restaurant:

IMG_5777 (800x600).jpg

I filled my savory plate first:

IMG_5778 (800x600).jpg

Biscuit, asparagus, eggs with goat cheese and vegetables, and breakfast potatoes.

All delicious but my favorite thing was hands down the eggs. I didn’t even notice them at first. I saw another scrambled egg dish that looked like it had bacon in it and this was confirmed by asking a CM who kindly let me know about this egg dish that was on the other side. I would have totally gone for seconds if I didn’t have to save room for the most important part of a balanced breakfast – the sweets.

Got myself 2 sweet plates:

IMG_5779 (800x600).jpg
Carmelized banana and Nutella crepe from the crepe station

IMG_5780 (800x600).jpg

French toast with berry sauce, cinnamon bun with warm vanilla sauce, and Mickey waffles without which breakfast could not be complete. The maple syrup is actually brought warm to the table in its own little jug.

YUM YUM YUM!!!!!!!! I was in breakfast heaven! How could I not be with all that sweet delicousness?

But I didn’t just book breakfast here for the food of course. Without further ado, my character photos (aren’t their beach outfits so darn cute?????):

I had wanted a classic character breakfast and it was between here and Chef Mickey’s. Even though I got less characters I am pleased that I chose Cape May and that I got to experience a taste of the Beach Club Resort and I also appreciated the relative quiet here. And the food here I felt was excellent. Another A+!

That looks so good! I know the prices vary, but do you remember how much they charged when you were there?

So fun! Everything looks delicious..... what was in those eggs? They look so good! And super yummy asparagus too. Love your dress as well!

Cape May! Excited to see your review and pics since we will be trying this restaurant for the first time in early March! We have a breakfast here one morning of our stay at the BC Villas.

Cape May is a breakfast I've never really considered before, but those character outfits are so cute! And the food all looked great too (except those eggs, but that's only because I don't like goat cheese, or mushrooms, or scrambled eggs...)

Love the reviews!

Your Boma dinner looks fabulous and has me super excited for our reservation in January - I see tons of breakfast reviews but not as many dinner ones. Can't wait!

And Cape May breakfast is having me seriously consider adding this to our potential May family trip - we're hoping to stay at the Beach Club if we can get in, so it would just be so convenient! And crepes, delicious eggs, and Mickey waffles sounds like the perfect start to a day (plus adorable characters of course).

I know! How will I have time to eat all of this breakfast?!

That Cape May breakfast looks fantastic and I'm a sucker for banana Nutella crepes! It's never been on our radar before but I may have to rethink it now.

Do you know that I have NEVER had a crepe? Ever? In my entire life? I think I'm going to need to change this during my breakfast at Cape May next month, all because of this photo! Yum!

I think it was around $31

They were eggcellent! Goat cheese and vegetables

Thanks!

Cape May! Excited to see your review and pics since we will be trying this restaurant for the first time in early March! We have a breakfast here one morning of our stay at the BC Villas.

I think it's a must do for breakfast if you're staying at BC. I'm excited for you to experience it.

Yum! You've almost convinced me to book a breakfast! ;)

What's stopping you???? ;) :P :rolleyes1

Oh, so yummy! Ever since I heard about those eggs on one of Elevationist's reports I have made them at home several times. So yummy!

They were oh so yummy! Maybe I should make them myself too

Cape May is a breakfast I've never really considered before, but those character outfits are so cute!

Those outfits is what made me book it in the first place

And the food all looked great too

And this certainly helped as well. Delicious food and adorable characters? Can't beat that!

Glad I could be of service.... :-)

Really? Where I live they're pretty standard at ice cream shops so I've had my share. Can't wait to read what you think.

Oh, girl. Dem Mickey waffles, though. Yummmmmmmmmm.

No proper Disney breakfast is complete without Mickey waffles!

I'm so happy you enjoyed it! Everything looks delicious and your character pics are adorable!

Thanks!

Landscape of Flavors

Let me just preface this by saying that this was not in my plans AT ALL. Not because I had anything against it though. This was my second Epcot day and I purposely left the day with no ADRs (except for breakfast) in order to take advantage of Flower and Garden and WS. Unfortunately my lack of adequate planning (should I ever get to F&W I have most definitely learned my lesson) and the heat did not work in my favor. Also I was tired. This was my 7th day of the trip and every day it was RD to park close and even my arrival day had started early in the morning. Not to mention that this particular day had me up earlier than usual for my breakfast at Cape May.

I decided to skip Illuminations and leave the park early after meeting Joy and Sadness (which took an hour, the longest I waited on any line) at 8:30pm. But of course I had to have dinner so I stopped by Landscape of Flavors, the food court at Art of Animation, before heading to my room.

I settled on the Create your own Pasta and chose the multigrain pasta with alfredo sauce, spinach, mushrooms, onions, and a very generous helping of shredded cheese. I wanted to keep it on the light side so decided against adding a protein.

IMG_6049 (800x600).jpg
I enjoyed it very much. What’s not to love about pasta with your choice of sauce and veggies???? Ultimately I needed something to eat and this satisfied me.

For a little something sweet I chose a red velvet whoopie pie:

IMG_6050 (800x600).jpg

It was just alright for me.

When I got to the cashier I also decided a Mickey Straw would be a nice touch to the meal. The straw itself is cute but it is so narrow that I had a very hard time drinking through it! Just a word of caution to the rest of you.

Oh and before I forget I did actually have a nibble around noon time. I approached a QS counter in England for an ice water and couldn’t help but get an order of fish and chips as well. Photo courtesy of Google:

Fish was flaky, fries crispy, and both nice and hot (which was appreciated) but maybe a bit too hot considering the brutal sun though.

And in France I had to get some ice cream from L’Artisan. I had been looking forward to the brioche ice cream sandwich (Croque Glace) for months but ultimately decided on a standard scoop since I didn’t feel I could eat more than that.

Presenting Cinnamon with Caramelized Pecan ice cream:

IMG_5937 (800x600).jpg
Really really good and definitely hit the spot.

That’s all for this update folks. 3 more and a wrap left to go. I'm thinking that'll take about a month.
