I need reassurance once again.

Last night while doing obsessive searching, for no reason really (we have our reservations now for CBR and Boardwalk for our split stay honeymoon with FD), I found a Poly standard room at the back to school savings rate of $420 a night. I convinced my fiance that we NEED to stay at the Poly because I've always wanted to, and I added it to my cart and tried to check out. And then I clicked check out. And then it loaded back to the same page. Again. And again. And again. Then I tried a new browser, went through the same process, same results. So I left it in my cart, came back this morning, and, shocker, the room is gone and now only club level is available at the discount. GAH.

Is it worth me calling and complaining? Will anyone be able to do anything to get me the discounted price on a regular price room?

Yes. Sometimes they can find extra pixie dust. The key, EXTRA SWEET AND POLITE!!!

I can tell you from experience that no they will not be able to help. Or at least not for me and i was in tears when I called since this is a surprise for my 82 year old mama that has never been to Disney before.
Yesterday morning I finally found a CBR for a party of 5 for our dates.
I got everything done, put in our party's names and on the very last page when it says check out, when I clicked on that I got a message "i'm sorry the room you have chosen is no longer available". I called immediately. I got right thru and got a super sweet CM that apologized over and over.
He checked everything and offered to check every name looking for a PIN code and he searched for a good 10 minutes but nothing he could do to help with any resort that could help up. We can't get 2 rooms at a value or any moderate during my dates of 9/26-10/3 but I am not giving up. I am refreshing my page every 2 minutes

I am worried that it's gonna be expensive mainly bc of the extra hours thing. If people are paying $150 for that?!?! So I'll take 10% for sure!

I am seeing the same thing. When I looked up inventory starting on Saturdays, it's Deluxes only. Move it to a Monday or Tuesday and suddenly a bunch of rooms are available. Even if people must arrive on a Saturday, I think trying for a split stay would get them to a 90% solution of what they are looking for. Weekends are busier and the inventory is reflecting that.

Thanks. We're under the fall back discount for now. Going 9/28 to 10/8. Would love to get free dining as we're getting park hopper and dining plan anyways. Keeping an eye out!

Lol! When I got up a few minutes ago, I was like, whoosh, finally back to normal. I must admit, Sunday/Monday was fun though!!! And I will never forget the "picture" fail!!!! That made me giggle all through Monday. It was either that, or the lack of sleep!!!

Don't give up! I'm starting to see availability on 9/30. You just need people to cancel on your later days. Or worst case you could do a split stay, first half at Disney and then move to "offsite" in Disney Springs?

Speaking of long hours on this board, is someone going to start a part 3 before we hit 250 pages or are we just going to let it fizzle out as people move to other boards? I found the September 2016 board and I'm excited to start planning!!

Going to be really honest... not really.

They can't make rooms appear that just aren't there. I totally get it's frustrating, but just the way it goes. Rooms come and go. Imagine all the people that would call when this happens. Ya know?

Is it worth calling? You can try. What's the worst that will happen? I know people say "pixie dust happens" but coming from the other side, the pixie dust happens because something opens up and the stars align. They aren't going to give you someone else's room. Somebody has to be out of luck.

I know it's not a magical answer Keep checking. Things change in the blink of an eye (obviously).

Woo hoo I did it!!!! My obsessive checking just scored me a standard room at CBR 8/27-9/1!!! I'm a little sad to give up my 3rd choice WL but Ill be saving $591 by switching standard WL to standard CBR and that's a lot of Margaritas!!! Keep checking!!!!!!

We are already booked at CBR with FD. If we add another person staying in the same room will they get FD as well?

You can add people up to the room capacity and all will get FD.

Question. My original reservation I had booked for my trip in Sept is almost $300 more than my original total was before the free dining was added. Why are they not honoring the original price when I booked? I did not book with a special. Only booked the regular room rate and ticket prices at that time. Should they not honor my original booking price??

I had booked the room with tickets and park hoppers. So looks like I am paying for the increase in ticket prices. I don't think I should have to. I booked before they increased.

Booking before price increases can be a benefit, but if you apply a discount you will be changing your room rates, ticket prices, dining prices (not in this case of course) to the current rates. If we had booked after the price increase, FD would have saved us $1,500, but because we booked before the price increase our saving was "only" $1,000.

I got a pin last week for up to 30% off lodging 5/30 - 8/25 and free PH if I book a min 6 day MYW package.

I'm like that's great but we will never be in Florida in the summer. My sweaty kids and husband would melt!

But hey, I got one!

I have gotten 3 pin codes in the last month. Each time I open them my heart starts racing in hopes that it would be FD for fall and I wouldn't have to worry when it would be released. Each time I was disappointed. I have 3 MDE accounts and my husband has 1. That many have increased our chances.

The general belief is there will be more rooms added. I've been checking randomly and I am seeing inventory others aren't seeing, so it's probably coming and going quickly. Keep an eye out!

Yes, I keep seeing inventory coming and going too. We were able to get Sports for 3 more rooms last night, but our first choice is CBR. I know they had Pirate rooms available, but those rooms only have double beds and they are too far away, not to mention they are overpriced in my opinion.

OMG me too! I check her dates multiple times a day. She was with us in the thick of it and she deserves FD! @sahm2two if you read this can you post your kids' ages? I know you need a room for 5 but I've just been guessing at their ages. Also if you tell us a goal budget that might help too.

I had a previously booked standard room at CBR for 12/16 - 12/23 with the "old" prices because we were going no matter what and our dates and resort were fixed.

When it dropped I tried to modify my current reservation but had no luck, so I made a new one. I had to upgrade to a Water/Pool view room but I was done by 4:07am. I texted my friend that I am traveling with as soon as it dropped and she logged on and was able to get the same. She also had to book a new reservation. I also had to book a new reservation for my client, but I was able to get her free dining Thanksgiving week at All-Star Sports (she was originally at Movies).

If anyone has not found what they are looking for try tonight or tomorrow at midnight (I am not sure exactly which day), but that is when all of the held reservations by TAs that clients didn't book will be released.

Might be good news for some of you!

Edited: Dirty Steve mentioned this above too. I confirmed with a CM when I called Disney Travel agents that they were released at midnight. She also said, NOT ALL are released them and it could take a day or two longer. So just keep checking everyone!

Inventory is definitely coming and going quickly, but at least it is changing so absolutely keep trying if you haven't gotten what you wanted yet. Last night (as I mentioned in another post) I came across two standard rooms at CBR. I decided to keep my original reservations at Coronado so the standards at CBR should go back into inventory. My dates are 9/3 to 9/9 in case anyone is interested. I did notice they have King and water view rooms available this morning that were not there last night as well.
