Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

I've been looking through the thread and wanted to see if I could get some clarification on the bus service. On our last trip we stayed at the Cabins at FW. They had 2 seperate bus systems: 1 that took you to various places within the retort and included at stop at the bus stop that allowed you to get on the buses that would then take you to the parks. Does CBR have a system similar to that or are the buses that pickup at the various sections of the resort the same ones that take you to the parks?

There is a separate internal bus.

We were staying at a different resort but to get free dining we have to switch to Pirate Rooms at CBR. I hope we don't regret the switch. I'm holding the reservation currently.

When was the last renovation to the rooms? When is the next one slated?

also I see there are 8 bus stops!!! If we are in T South (pirates) it looks like we are in the middle of the route. how long does it take from pick up to drop off at the parks. I am used to a 10-15 minutes bus ride from pick up to drop off...wondering if it is double since we have to pick up at a bunch of other stops :)

@hollygolitely93 All rooms were renovated last year.

There are 7 bus stops, not 8. And except for the slow parts of the day, they send 2 buses for each park. One bus picks up at 3 of the stops and the other one picks up the other 4.

Even if you do have to make the entire loop it's around 9 minutes from the 1st stop until you're leaving CBR proper.

thanks dansdad.

Can anyone also share just how "long" of a walk is it from T South (pirate room) to the food court. Are we talking a mile?

Though I paid for a pirate room and it cost more it doesn't seem you really get anything more for it--further away rooms and smaller beds??? Am I missing something here? and my kids hate pirates. HA! Wonder if they'll downgrade me to a regular room at the pirate price so I can keep the free dining. ???

yes! Scottish girl living in Houston Texas for 19 years but not lost my accent one bit lol
(Sorry to go OT:oops:)
Ooh love Scotland, go at least once a year, if its not on our family holiday to (which we go to when saving over the years for Disney) Lower Largo in Fife, I go on a coach trip with my Mum just after Christmas, been to Tyndrum a couple of times & this year we are going to Arrocharr:D

Is there a list anywhere that says which rooms have murphy beds?
There is a list on the first page of this thread of room numbers that have murphy beds:thumbsup2

We just got free dining for our trip (Yippee Skippee!), BUT the catch was we had to book a king room. (Matters not to me if it's 2 Queens or 1 king)
What DOES matter is where are room is!!! We really really like Aruba 51, have requested Jamaica 45 before, but never got it.
So long story short, how do I find out where the king rooms ARE?
I've gone through this thread, the old thread, and checked out touring plans, but coming up empty. On the TP site you have to put in dates for availability so I don't know if that's an issue.
Anyway if someone know just where I could find the info, I would greatly appreciate it!
Thanks in advance!

Just switched my reservation over to CBR today to get FD! I hadn't really researched this resort too much since we were originally planning on staying at POR so I could use some suggestions. We will have 2 kids with us who will be in a stroller- are there elevators in every building? If not I'd probably need to request a ground floor. Also- what would be the best area or building to request to minimize walking and the need for internal buses. I'd rather not have to haul the 2 kids all over the resort to get food or get to a bus for the parks. Any suggestions are welcome! Thanks!

Ask for a ground floor (no elevators) and request Jamaica 45 or Aruba 51. They are both near the bridge to OPR (Old Port Royale) where food and pool are.
Or, you could request a preferred room in Martinique or Trinidad north. They are right next to OPR.
You will love it, and your children will really like the pool so much better!

thanks dansdad.

You are absolutely correct! It is farther away with smaller beds! Lol
Try switching to a standard room for closer walks. (I think its, about 9 or 10 minutes from Pirate room to OPR)...

Thanks ConnecticutNonn...there are not Standard Rooms showing available for Free Dining. I am going to call them and see if they have anything different than what's showing online. I'll pay the Pirate Room rate ;)

You may be able to get a preferred room for FD, and be in one of the 2 closer villages.
Btw, I think it's 1.5 miles around CBR, so I'm guestimating it'seems between 1/3 to 1/2 mile from Pirate rooms.

Last renovation finished last year.
Sumptuous beds, beauty rest mattresses, 2 sinks, with closing sliding doors to sink area, separate toilet and shower. Very nice

Booked CBR waterview to get free dining. YAY! But now wondering if I shouldn't have just went with standard view (preferred was sold out). Most important to me is being close to the food court and a bus stop. Will the extra money I paid for waterview get me either of those things or would I have an equal chance booking standard and requesting those things on my ressie? Thanks!

I had no plan to book a trip today but ended up getting a great deal w FD for Dec 12-17. We've never stayed at BCR but I'm really excited to be there! It was one of the few affordable options for a family of 5 (this is the first time we've stayes as a fam of 5 bc our baby is now 3 and counts as a "guest" :P) and I'm so glad we caught the deal for FD when we did. I'm going to be reading through the thread but any suggestions or helpful hints any of you vets may have would be appreciated!!

Pages 1 and 2 will have just about all the information and helpful hints you will need.

thanks dansdad.

From the closest building 7 minutes. From the furthest point of the furthest building 11 minutes.

No, you are not missing anything. They made the Pirate Rooms to help make these less desirable rooms more desirable. Kind of the same reasoning behind the Royal Rooms at POR.

Wonder if they'll downgrade me to a regular room at the pirate price so I can keep the free dining. ???

Usually, no. They offer rooms up for the Free Dining offer to fill unsold rooms. The standard rooms are filling nicely without Free Dining. The Pirate Themed rooms on the other hand.......

There are King rooms in every building except the Pirate Themed Rooms in Trinidad South. If I were you I would request anything in Trinidad North, Martinique 24, 25 or 26. Any of those will put you as close to the Food Court and Main Feature Pool as possible.
