Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

Add us to the roll call! Just booked last minute trip June 6-12. Ended up getting preferred room instead of pirate. Sorry son but this is shorter walk for the same exact price! He won't know what he's missing! haha he can get to the pool faster now! Almost went with Animal Kingdom Lodge with their summer awakens sale price but it was still $1000 more and that will go towards all our food (not doing dining plan this time). For some reason I can't leave CBR!

We are trying to do in-room breakfast this year for cost and time-savings. (packing fruit/cereal/granola bars/spoons/bowls and buying milk at resort)

Refillable mugs aren't worth it for us because we don't drink soda, but we need coffee in the morning.

Do the in-room coffee cups come with lids, or should we bring some travel mugs from home?

Any other inexpensive breakfast ideas?
Personally, we have never had a problems with the lids. DH and I use them every time we are there. However, I do not use them for coffee. I take hot chocolate packets with me and make it in the coffee maker in the room. Just a hint for anyone staying at CBR that would rather have hot chocolate in the room....if you ask the workers in the food area at OPR, they will give you hot chocolate packets. They keep them in their supply closet in the middle of the drink station. Their hot chocolate machines have a habit of clogging when used too often (I've seen this several times in the winter but, not in the summer) so they keep packets for this reason.

My son loves to eat those little powdered doughnuts and trail mix for breakfast. I buy the big bag of trail mix at Walmart and bag it up into snack sized baggies. The trail mix is also good to take into the parks and as a snack in the room after returning from the parks.

Have a great trip!

wohoooooo we check in the exact same dates ! see you there!

Just wondering...
I read somewhere else that someone at pop century was able to get a large pizza in the food court for 2 quick service credits along with drinks and desserts.
Is that possible at Caribbean beach?
I am having my daughters birthday there at the pool and we are having to buy 3 pizzas for our group of 12 plus drinks so I thought this might be a good option!

Unless the policy has changed since June, 2015 (when we were able to do this), yes you can.

We just upgraded our bounce back for September from Pop to CBR! I'm so excited to going back to CBR, it's our families favorite.
I am sooo happy to see all these posts about how much everyone loves CBR. We have stayed at POP for our past 9 stays and never at CBR but we needed a room for 5. We are sooo looking for our stay at CBR after reading all the great things in this thread!

You will love it!

I saw at the beginning of this post the list of rooms that have murphy beds in them. I am trying to decide if we would be staying there this fall and really would like a murphy bed room but according to the list at the beginning of the post there are not that many rooms with murphy beds. Does anyone know if more have been added? Thank you for any help with this question.

That list is made up from people that report back here to Disboards. There are many more rooms with them, but i don't know of any website that has a complete list of them. You could make a request, but it won't be guaranteed that you will get one. Families of five get priority for them.

I've spent the last few days reading through this thread and am so thankful for such a great resource! My mom and I decided last weekend that we're going to head down for her birthday in September. It will be our first fall trip so our first F&W and MNSSHP! We're excited. We're just waiting for discounts to be released to book (just feels easier at this point than booking and then having to call next week to change it) but we've 98% decided to call CBR home this trip. (The other 2% is holding out hope we can afford something along the Boardwalk but we doubt it lol). Look forward to following along in here over the next few months.

Hi, we arrived at CBR on Sunday. We just love it. We are in Jamaica 41, room 4159 which has a Murphy bed. There's just the two of us so wasted on us unless we decide to sublet:) We booked a standard room but we have a very nice Lake view (albeit with a road in front) We have used the bus to go to Disney Springs and also back from MK. Short waits, very convenient. We are from the UK so got the free dining plan, it's working really well.
If anyone can advise us on using Uber here we'd be most grateful. We plan a day shopping tomorrow (OK I haven't let my husband in on the plan yet:)) but never used Uber and not sure where to get picked up. Any help really appreciated.
I posted quite a while back that we stayed here years ago when my son was little. We've returned now with him, his wife and our three grandkids.... talk about Disney magic! If we can answer any questions, we're happy to help, we've had so much help from you all, it's pay back time:)

So glad you're enjoying your stay!

Uber and regular cabs will pick you up right at one of the circular drives of Jamaica.

Hi! We just stayed in room 2247 in Martinique, and it had a Murphy bed. It also appeared to be a connecting room to the room next door

We were a party of 2, and did not request a connecting room. Just randomly assigned to us.
