Love your Crawl review! DH and I are planning on doing the monorail crawl during our October trip. Course I have so many plans I know I am going to run out of day so we'll see. Our 25th anniversary is June 1st but we are ignoring it and waiting to celebrate in October! I hope to eat at V&A's as we never have and we did honeymoon at the GF. It's funny that we both remember looking at the menu and saying 'why would anyone want to eat that weird food!'. We were not very adventurous 25 years ago! We've come a long way but probably still have a way to go!

Fun monorail crawl! I saw availability come up at V&A's for my trip in August but DH could not believe I'd go there without him so I'll have to try for next March instead. Jason would love it if he tried it, so amazing! What are your dates for August? Maybe we'll overlap and have a Dismeet drink!

Hey there! Your monorail crawl looks like it was a blast! And bonus on the comped drinks and cheese. The only thing better than cheese is free cheese!

I love monorail crawls! Except one lapu lapu and I would literally be crawling my behind our of the Poly!!

With Casey safely tucked away in Lilo's Playhouse at the Poly (aka Disney camp to Casey) we were off. We started right in the Poly at the Tambu Lounge, so I could scratch something off my Disney bucket list: The Lapu Lapu

This is Myers dark rum mixed with tropical juices served in a pineapple with a shot of Bacardi 151 on top. And all I can say about that is holy rum batman. As much as I drink I don't do a ton of liquor and this bad boy was STRONG. The tropical juices helped cut the alcohol a bit, but it was too Hawaiian punch flavored for my taste. Of course none of this kept me from completing my Polynesian right of passage and drinking the whole thing right on up.

this is on my bucket list too but lots of rum and tropical juice sounds distinctly less interesting than some of the other choices.

I've been away from the boards for awhile, so my replies are a tad bit delayed. ;)

What an amazing idea to get the drink to go. Never would have thought of that. Sheer brilliance.

I was a woman on a mission! Had to figure out how to have that drink without waiting another year, haha! And thanks!

We're going in mid-April this year so Jason can do the Star Wars half marathon and his wife can attempt to be supportive and pretend she knows something about Star Wars ; )

Tell him to have a good race from me! I will be out for the Wine & Dine half marathon and I'm excited since this will be the first race I've traveled for, and ya know, another trip to Disney World, hooray!

Schoolbread.

I finally tried this when we were out last December. I am so in love! It lived up to the hype and was even still delicious when I managed to spill some of my Gluwein onto the plate, which it promptly absorbed. ;) My kiddo doesn't care for most things coconut and insisted he didn't want a snack, but once he saw how much I was enjoying my School bread, of course he wanted some. I let him have a couple of bites, the non wine soaked bits of course! Hehe.

Yesss! Poly right of passage for sure. I liked it but I agree, a bit too rummy for me. All I could taste was rum!

Again, somehow my notes were lacking but from my drunken notes I believe the goat cheese with honey was our favorite, followed by the brie, and then the blue cheese. Per my notes the blue was my least favorite because "cherrss another line yogurts a but odd." Yep that makes complete sense.

Yep, sounds about right ;) But really that cheese plate sounds delicious, even if it did take an hour to arrive. How nice that they comped you some of your drinks and the cheese.

Glad you guys enjoyed your Monorail Crawl, even if you only made it to a few of the resorts! Definitely gonna have to add the crawl to our list of Disney to-do's! And of course, #happydrunkinanniversary

Thanks Vickie! Hope you and your hubby can work a crawl in. Jason and I are already planning one for our summer trip (cause we like you already have too much on the plate for this trip).

Happy early anniversary. Sounds like Disney is a great way to celebrate such a milestone. That's too funny on V&A. I think before Jason and I got married I would have said the same thing on the V&A menu :-) Hope you get to try it in October!!!!

Why not go without your hubby and then again with him????? Better to make sure its up to par for March :P

Our August dates are a bit squishy as of yet. But right now its tentatively the 25th - 3. Looks like we may have some crossover on the 25th. What day is your birthday???? Mine is the 20th.

I like the way you think!!!!!!

I love monorail crawls! Except one lapu lapu and I would literally be crawling my behind our of the Poly!!
Yeah I definitely under estimated the power of the lapu lapu. Of course that didn't keep me from several glasses of wine o_O

this is on my bucket list too but lots of rum and tropical juice sounds distinctly less interesting than some of the other choices.
Yeah, I think its the pineapple that really adds the interesting factor. Glad I tried it, but I'll definitely be partaking of something else next time.

Welcome back

I was a woman on a mission! Had to figure out how to have that drink without waiting another year, haha! And thanks!
I'll be doing the same thing next trip as our Epcot time will be limited!

Tell him to have a good race from me! I will be out for the Wine & Dine half marathon and I'm excited since this will be the first race I've traveled for, and ya know, another trip to Disney World, hooray!
Will do. Jason registered for the wine and dine too. Not sure another trip is in the cards (especially since Casey will be in kindergarten next year) but he wanted to register just in case.

So glad you and your son loved it as much as we do. Though I've never tried the Gluwein. What's it like????

Yesss! Poly right of passage for sure. I liked it but I agree, a bit too rummy for me. All I could taste was rum!
I think its that 151 shot that takes it over the rum edge. Though I think I could live with the strong rum flavor, it was the Hawaiian punch that was just off putting to me.

Yep, sounds about right ;) But really that cheese plate sounds delicious, even if it did take an hour to arrive. How nice that they comped you some of your drinks and the cheese.

I like to think of the crawl as a warm up and next trip maybe we'll be up for walking

Wouldn't I just love to??? But I got such a sad puppy eye look that I don't think I can..... My birthday is actually June 23rd but because that is the end of the school year for us and the twins are graduating from grade 8, I just can't go then. July was out as we are at our cottage in PEI then, so August it is! I am so super excited for this trip, can't believe I get to go to my happy place on my own!

A Little Cream with our Beaches

On our last full Disney day unfortunately our morning was a bit of a disaster. First, Jason wasn't feeling well (I blamed the booze, he blamed a "bug") so Casey and I embarked on our first ever all girls day. We got almost to the monorail before I realized I'd forgotten the magic bands. So back to the room then back to the monorail, only to find the Epcot loop was shut down. We were pointed to a line for a bus that appeared to have a few hundred people in it. #NoThankYou So we hopped the monorail to MK and proceeded to wait 30 minutes for a resort bus to come. We finally got to our destination and literally ran to the restaurant. And arrived 25 minutes late. Did I mention it was pouring rain this entire time? >:(

So where we're we headed???? It was a first for us......

BEACHES AND CREAM!!!

Earlier in the week Jason said he wanted to try it and our Epcot day seemed the logical choice. I hated that he was missing it, but Casey and I made the most of it.

After our horrible morning I was in the mood for some serious comfort food, enter the Beaches Patty Melt.

This is an Angus Beef Burger served with Sautéed Onions, Swiss, and Garlic-Peppercorn Dressing on Rye Bread with of course a side of onion rings (#OnionRingThrowdown). The patty melt was very good and actually tasted a bit like a reuben thanks to the rye bread. The sautéed onions had a good sweet flavor, but the garlic peppercorn dressing was largely undetectable (which was fine by me cause I coated this bad boy in ketchup). The onion rings were the crispiest of the ones I had this week, but they weren't very hot. While they were quite good, I'm gonna have to continue to give the throwdown crown to Flame Tree.

There was no way I was sharing my lunch after our debacle so Casey had the rare meal to herself. And what did she choose....

Yep, my little foodie is still really a kid deep down and got herself a good ole American hot dog.

For dessert Casey was angling for a kitchen sink (the family next to us had one) but ended up settling for a mint chocolate chip mickey sundae.

I know there are far more creative options at Beaches and Cream, but this hit the proverbial ice cream spot.

Casey and I definitely enjoyed the fun atmosphere and food at Beaches and Cream. We'll definitely be back and hopefully with Jason next time. With our tables in wonderland card we saved $5.89.

After lunch it continued to rain, but we made the most of it with some indoor character meet and greets.

And a little Beverly.

Up next, another table for 2!

Too bad I'm not coming in on the 24th. I could have ditched Jason and been a great excuse for you ; )

Sounds like you all have a great summer planned. Having watched Anne of Green Gables as a kid I always wanted to visit PEI.

Beaches and Cream! I just booked it for our summer trip for an early lunch! I have never tried it, and I have to say, Casey's hot dog looks good! Bummer about the end of trip bug/booze blues. On our last trip, we had a surprising Daddy is Down Day. Ours led to our last minute CG meal, but even the best silver linings are less fun with a Daddy who is in bed! I say you get to have a redo!

Beaches and Cream is on my list for our next trip! It looks delicious and the ice cream with the minnie ears is soooo cute! Glad to hear yall enjoyed it.
Too bad it's the last day:-(

Despite all your travel troubles - looks like you had a lovely meal at Beaches & Cream! The mickey ice cream is so cute and I'm glad you enjoyed your main meals! Poor Jason for not feeling well :(

Beaches and Cream sounds like the perfect comfort food on a rainy and stressful day. And now I'm craving onion rings.

B&C is always on my list to try but I seem to pass it over in favor of something in the World Showcase. But it looks like a fun place and the ice cream would be a big hit with everyone!

Glad you and Casey had a good girls days with lots of character meets!

Sorry you had a stressful morning but your meal looks good!

I'm in WDW from 26th August to 9th September:goodvibes

Good attempt at the monorail crawl...your notes were too funny! Definitely evidence of a good time. :) I love the lapu lapu but I think that's only 15% the taste and 85% getting to drink out of a pineapple!

Too bad your husband had to miss out on your Epcot day, but glad you and Casey made the most of it!

I was laughing at your notes! I would only be able to have a lapu lapu if I had a couple of people to share it with! Love the idea of a monorail crawl but I would need to focus on the food and not the drinks so I could complete it :rotfl: Beaches and Cream is such a great spot! We hit it every trip and I love the onion rings...but they need to be hot!! :thumbsup2

Have our first B&C reservation for this trip. Shame that your DH missed out on it but your DD looks happy :) My DD is already petitioning the rest of us for a kitchen sink LOL
