Rumors of Light (ROL discussion thread)

George is the president of WDW of course he would know what's going on however I'm not exactly sure the people working for him in the call center area would know. I'd say they are probably a little more knowledgable than a booking CM but still take everything they say with a grain of salt. Until it's officially announced from Disney nothing is guaranteed and even then sometimes it isn't.

Well, Mr. Smarty pants (kidding, you know I love ya!) from what she said on my call, they will call back to tell us that too. I think it is AWESOME that they are calling those of us who contacted them. They don't have to do that...definitely gives me back some of the "magical" feeling that has started fading these last couple of months!

Well, I finally broke my silence and e-mail Kalogridis as well as CC:'d Mr Staggs and Mr Chapek. Only to voice my concern over the miscommunication apparently coming out of his office. I don't anticipate a response other than a generic e-mail from someone who works in his office, however, the last time (and only time I've ever) sent an e-mail, I missed 3 calls from a higher up manager, and when I did speak with him he informed me that he got a call from Mr Staggs himself to reach out and address my concerns (unsure if this is true or not lol). I don't even care about them releasing the information anymore, it's just frustrating that all of this different information is being released.

Yes but I believe the executive offices have a receptionist/call center area or at least people that only do responses via email or phone on behalf of the executive offices.

So yesterday's information turn out to be April fools joke :cutie:. I am not going to believe anything until I see it on an official page anymore that will probably will be in June at this rate...

I think the part I find most confusing out of all of it, why are they calling? Calling to give wrong information is worse than not calling. Are these underlings calling out of their own incentive or is someone higher up directing them to call? My first instinct is they are calling with the best of intentions but honestly, if they don't have concrete info to give out I think they are doing more harm than good.

I believe if they are giving false information just to appease people it's way worse than not calling at all.

I wish I could figure out the motivation behind their phone calls. Because they sure didn't have to do them. People getting them weren't expecting phone calls.

The whole thing is just odd

I agree but I think they are just trying to keep the masses at ease. Multiple people are contacting Disney about this. We just have to keep waiting I guess.

Probably. Honestly, though, the longer this goes on -- including their MANY AK-related posts getting people "excited" -- the bigger mess it will be when they finally announce anything for booking.

Over and above the general DIS obsession with new things, Disney's many (unhelpful) blog posts have gotten so many others riled up!!

Wish I had more faith in Disney IT, etc that things would actually go smoothly when announced.
 
As promised...I gave it until Friday (and even until today), and we're officially off to Universal instead of DAK on 4/28.

Dis wants us to plan EVERYTHING in advance, yet can't give us park hours 2-3 weeks in advance. I'm done. Love WDW, but if we don't take a stand they'll keep giving us this garbage.

Love the upgrades to all the parks, but maybe we should just plan our next family trip for 2020 and beyond.

same-old, same-old, I honestly expected nothing less from Disney's IT considering their abysmal track record. They don't have to be professional, the masses will still beat down the gates especially those who want to be among the first to experience new things.

that said, by following these sorts of threads guests at least get a heads' up before it get released to the masses and updated on the website.

I am totally with you on this. I find it so strange that they would call one day and say there would be a blog post on April 2, then call back on April 2 to say that it's changed and will now be "next Week"! How vague, once again. Next week is no better then "very soon" IMO....

And the guessing game continues.....
