Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

Haven't had time to read the whole thread but we booked preferred late September (dos pirate room when they were new). How is the bus for preferred? First stop, middle last? Does the bus circle the whole resort?

For most of the day they will send 2 buses for each park. One will stop at:

Jamaica
Aruba
Barbados

The other will stop at:

Martinique
OPR
Trinidad North
Trinidad South

During some really slow parts of the day, they may only send one and it will stop at all. The entire loop takes around 7-8 minutes.

Sometimes they will send one of the very large articulating buses for Magic Kingdom as they have the larger bus stops to handle these extra long buses.

If I want to get to Epcot by 8:30am(ish), what time should I catch a bus at CBR? Thanks!

So how do you know where your bus returning to resort from parks is going to stop or do returning busses make the entire loop?

Quick question about the pool area - the water play area says the max is 48 inches. My daughter is 49 inches, but not a great swimmer so she'd prefer to play there than go down the bigger slides in the regular pool. Do they check heights, or will she be able to play there?

Thanks!

They will make the entire loop if needed.

We were there the first week in March and every time we rode the buses they did the entire loop. First time was about 3:30 or 4 in the afternoon leave CBR around 11 or so leaving Epcot going back. Next morning around 9 or so, entire loop. That afternoon coming back from MK around 3:30 or so one of the big articulated ones, did the whole loop. I timed it and it took 10 min. each time, and wouldn't you know it we were at Jamaica which was the first stop the first afternoon so the entire loop, the last stop coming back. Next morning we got on at Port Royale and it happened to be the first stop, so whole loop and coming home that afternoon we were the last stop. I think it was just the luck of the draw and we really didn't mind it at all. The only time we stood was the trip coming back from MK.

My DD and I leave on Sunday 4/3/16 for our first stay at CBR, we have stayed at all other mods so we are so excited to try CBR. Thanks for all the good info on this thread. We can't wait to get back home to Disney we are so thrilled, this will be the year of Disney for us, we are getting a AP in April because we will be back in August and October. Yippee!

They do check heights. At least when I was there I saw the lifeguard check a couple kids that looked like they were too tall - there is a height chart on the fence the lifeguard made the kids go stand next to it. They were still allowed in (since their smaller siblings were there) but were told they were not allowed to go down the slides.

I'm so happy to hear good reports now. My gosh, I need to stop reading posts by those haters on TripAdvisor. I trust this community much more anyway! But it's always very encouraging to hear the good reviews. I'm trying not to be intimidated by the size and scope of the resort. Everyone in my family loves to walk, and I think the exotic scenery will make it that much more palatable.

Does anyone know how often they can meet basic requests? I mean, I know that requests are sometimes outrageous if not... abundant, shall we say? And I also understand that the time of year and amount of guests will factor in, too. We're not going to ask for a specific "town" (unless we get some strong suggestions one way or the other), but my tween daughter keeps bristling at the thought of sharing a bed with her 5-year-old brother so that murphy bed would be SUCH a boon! We can bring an air mattress just in case, but the Mickey on his hammock is so stinkin adorable!

Wife and I have a reservation booked at POR FQ for early November. She is really wanting to get a dining plan for our trip because she knows that way she doesn't have to worry about me being cheap and not taking us out for nice dinners, lol. So just to pour gasoline on that fire I am trying to snag a Free Dining promotion and it looks like Caribbean Beach Resort is a better bet that POR FQ for that deal if it is offered.

Is it worth the move over to CB if the free dining is offered? I know a good deal and have been to POR before but know very little about Caribbean Beach.

A little more detail: This is our 10th anniversary gift to each other. We have been 4 times together but never by ourselves (with out family or our kids). We are pretty aggressive with our trips to WDW (want to take advantage of every moment) and so a quite location as great as it may be is not needed. Having a few "nicer" dinners (table service type) would be great. And lastly what is the quality of the dining at CB (dining hall and Shutters), and what areas of the resort are recommended?

I'm not sure how good they are at meeting requests on the first shot, but if you get a room without a Murphy bed, you can always ask for another room. We LOVED having the Murphy bed!

We stayed at AoA on a past trip, and a few of the evenings we made pool nights I just went to the food court and ordered a large pizza that we shared. It was so nice and relaxing for us, the girls got to stay in the pool with DH till I showed up at the table with the Pie.

Wondering if this is also doable at CBR? I saw they have a pizza station in the food court but is it only individual sizes or can I get a whole pie to go?

Newbie to the boards here. I have read all the threads but still have a question . Is there parking right in front of whatever building we get placed in? We will more than likely be driving instead of flying. We will have a lot of stuff and would like our cars to be nearby. There will be 8 in our party, 5 adults and 3 kids. We are staying in October but waiting to cement dates when Free Dining becomes available.
Is there another thread somewhere to help me decide Dining Reservations? We have been once with our kids 2 years ago but we would like to do some different dining options then last time. Thanks for you help! Ive learned so much reading this thread.

Yes, CBR has lots of parking outside of each block of buildings. Check out Google Maps satellite views

Check out http://www.disboards.com/forums/disney-restaurants.14/ Don't forget to figure out your 180+10 day window to snag your ADR's

Silly questions: would it be appropriate to pack a ball or football to play catch on the beach or in a quiet pool? What about volleyballs? I see pictures with a volleyball net, does the resort provide a ball to play volleyball with?
Also I thought I read something about paddle boat rentals....is this true? Can we rent paddle boats?
THANKS! we are in the teens in our countdown:)

If you have a waterview room, then your parking may be the further than other rooms. Ours wasn't bad, but it was right outside our room. We were in Trinidad North building 32, so it was a little bit of a walk.

Anyone stayed in a ground floor waterview room in Martinique building 25 with a murphy bed?
Would love to know the room #
