Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

I actually enjoy speaking with the front desk CM also. It is exciting to me. I just have never done the on-line check-in and didn't know the procedure at CBR.

I remember us getting a nice bottle of pink zinfandel and a bottle of Merlot ( not on the same night HAH) and they were round about $12 a bottle...not too bad and the wine was lovely! We do have a car but by the time you use gas to drive and find somewhere its not worth it..we just buy it at the resort too.
Ha when we went in 2011, I got a bottle from the shop at ASMusic, thinking it was $11 also bought other things so didn't check, they opened it for me as I didn't have a corkscrew, gets back to room pours a glass, drinks some then checked the reciept, it was Kendal Jackson (never forget!) & it was $20!:scared1: I did go back to check but it had been put back in the wrong place! It lasted me I can tell ya:rotfl: I got a bottle of the zinfandel next time!:cool1:

I spoke with a Disney cast member yesterday and I can keep my code if I want to do a split stay. We can save about $400 by staying 6 days at Pop and 8 at CBR. Still can't decide what to do.

At least you can keep the discount if you have to switch. We like 50's lakeview at Pop, it was quiet. We also like ASMusic.

Ok praying for you that you dont need the 400 or at least can get by without it..cant you drop off some Table service meals instead? ( sorry just trying to find ways to help ) but if you have the dining plan then that dosnt matter. At least a split stay is better than no stay right? But I do feel for ya...being settled in one place is so much less stress than having to move.

hahahaha..Ive done that before...when we realized hubby was like "sip it slow!" Now Im going to be very careful lol

Im not an expert on matters but we have booked way in advance before then when special offers came out I just called Disney reservations ( 407-939-7429) and they applied the offer to my booking so YES! get that sucker rolling!! Makes it more exciting when you start planning for sure! You will love CBR! the time will fly in so much quicker if you start planning too :)
Thanks so much, pktbMouse! My husband and I are really excited. We've only been on property once, but now that it's just us returning with our kids, we want to be as close to the parks as possible without having to worry about a rental and all. I know that the shuttle system is imperfect, but if you go expecting perfection on all levels, you're setting yourself up for disappointments (I'm not setting the bar low or anything - I've just come to understand realistic expectations).

As for the CBR, I've heard both good and bad things, but I'm hardly well traveled and all I want is a place with a comfortable bed, running water and a pool my kids can splash around in on our off park day. After that, everything else is just icing for the cake! The grounds look beautiful, I love the look of the modernized rooms and... Ack! It's gonna be the best Halloween ever!

We are the unpack and settle in kind of family and I just don't know how we'd like a split stay. We have already dropped the majority of our table service meals because we just found out that Hunter's girlfriend is going with us! I'm going for a more budget-friendly, go with the flow vacation so it won't be stressful for a newbie. Tonight, we make our decision. Do we split or do we stay? That is the question....a tough question....a really really tough question.

We went to CBR from March 22-25th, and we had an amazing time. I LOVED the beach theme. Each village had the cutest little beach for the kids to play on, and hammocks to swing in. We requested Jamaica, but got placed in Aruba. This was wonderful! Transportation was PERFECT. We waited mere minutes for a bus. The buses weren't crowded either, and this was peak season. In the past, we've stayed at POR, and while I like that resort a lot, I would stay at CBR. We didn't have any problems that others reported. The rooms were clean, and we had plenty of refills of soap and shampoo. I kept hearing how large the resort was, but we just walked over the bridge, and we were right by the pool and the main area. Thank you to all who weighed in before we left--your advice was helpful!

Since I'm going to DW for the first time and staying at CBR, this is soooo good to hear, ha ha.

Is there a way to find the April recreation calendar? I see that POR and POFQ is listed on the portorleans.org facebook page so I am guessing CBR is out. Hopefully someone can let us know!

Dumb question, but are the slides at the main pool for adults too or just for kids? Thanks! :-)

The DIS member that runs the POR/POFQ Threads has a contact at the resorts so he is able to get the Activities Calendars early. I will post April's here once it's available online, usually on the 2nd or 3rd of each month.

I stayed in Jamaica on my 2014 trip and it was AMAZING. Stayed at POFQ last year and enjoyed it but the tropical resort atmosphere at CBR is a vacation within a vacation!

Haven't had time to read the whole thread but we booked preferred late September (dos pirate room when they were new). How is the bus for preferred? First stop, middle last? Does the bus circle the whole resort?
