Disney's CARIBBEAN BEACH RESORT Information & Questions

I think if your looking for a value with the perks of a moderate or higher resort, people would be willing to stay in them. I know I would. I picked the pirate rooms simply because I wanted the theme room and paid an upgraded charge for the room. If I wanted a standard room, I would be under the impression that it would be further out and not be within a short walk to OPR. I think their logic is slightly flawed, but ok.
I agree..I booked a pirate room at first figuring it would be closer to OPR. I ended up changing it today to preferred. I don't mind walking, but this is a short trip so we have to budget time accordingly.

Hi, we have a reservation for a water view room in April 2016. I would like to be in Martinque or Jamica, which would you all prefer and why. We would like to be close to the eating area and drinks. Please give your opinion on which areas at CBR are best to stay in and why. I also am wondering about the buses which areas are first picked up and first dropped off. Thank you so much for the info.

^^^ This is why I pack 2 or 3 disposable coffee trays in my luggage! They take up literally no room and are worth their weight in gold!
So easy to go for 4 coffees (I'm the early riser) every am with our refillable mugs and coffee tray.
This also was a tip from the Dis!
So much good info!
They also have them in the "to go" area in the food court

To be closest to OPR and the main pool I would request Trinidad North or Martinique.

Has anyone stayed in a king bed room recently? Any of them updated, and are they located throughout? Thanks!

Does anyone know if they have been installed...curious as well....

As of December 11, no. I didn't notice them at any bus stops, though I have read they are installed. Definitely not functional at any of the 4 bus stops I used.

Every building, except the Pirate Themed rooms in Trinidad South, have king beds. The refurbishment is 100% complete so yes, all the king rooms have been updated.

Just home yesterday afternoon from our trip Dec 20-27. Just a quick recap. We loved CBR & wouldn't hesitate to stay there again...

1. Very peaceful & tranquil, no noise issues.

2. Martinique building 24 was perfect. Very near the bus stop & OPR & only a few minutes to Custom House by foot.

3. We had no bus issues - longest we waited was 25 mins for an MK bus on the 27th. We needed to get to MK to hop on the monorail for a 1900 PF supper ressie. I'd given us a 90 minute cushion like I always do & would recommend it for any resort :thumbsup2.

As always YMMV regarding bussing.

4. Great room, although we did notice the 'marijuana' smell mentioned in another thread. It was present during our entire stay and was coming from the AC unit. It didn't bother us (even my asthmatic son) enough to ask to be moved from the 'reefer room' as we named it :-).

5. OPR was good. We ate there several times for different meals. I'd give the edge to the POR foodcourt here though.

6. Pools were excellent. My kids enjoyed the quiet & themed pools.

7. We had a 7:25am pick-up for ME our last day & read & listened to the voice message 2x. We called at 6:05am for bell services who informed us that if they didn't have our luggage by 6:15am it wouldn't make it on the plane.

They also informed us that even though the internal bus started at 6:30am according to the info packet, that it actually started at 7:00am. I have no idea which is true, but just a heads up.

We hesitated to hop on an MK bus at 6:00 because every one we'd caught that early had already stopped at CH.

This was our only real issue at CBR, but it worked out fine! Bell Services was at the door in 3 mins & we walked through Barbados to meet my DH at CH.

We loved WDW at Christmas, crowds & all!! We're talking about returning in a few years to stay over New Years. What an awesome atmosphere & much less guest crankiness in general than I was expecting!

We stayed in a king room and it was lovely. Updated and it was a corner room. Aruba 5461. It was a little bit of a trek to OPR but we didn't plan on going there much anyway and it wasn't bad when we did. Very quiet, overlooking a courtyard.

I want to request a building that is quiet yet decently close to the main pool/food court? Which should I "request?" Thanks a a bunch!

We are only staying at the resort for one night prior to cruising- we would like to go to MK which location do you think is preferable?

As of 28th December the monitors at bus stops are not working yet, they are there but not functioning.
