"Official" Mickey's Very Merry Christmas Party 2015 Thread - Rockin' Around the Cinderella Castle!

Does the Christmas parade begin in Frontierland? I would rather watch from this area...
If so what time to line up for the 2nd parade and where would be a good spot?
It is imperative I see Cindy with her 6 white horses! Lol

:headache: I can't find my party schedule/map but yes, it does start in Frontierland and yes, I would watch it from there. We chose Main Street and it was a huge mistake! SO crowded and we couldn't see the parade until it was directly in front of us. :sad2: I take TONS of pictures and was only able to get 10-15 good ones of the parade...the biggest disappointment of the trip for me. Early last week, I watched the Light Parade in Frontierland and have fabulous photos of EVERY part of the parade! :tink:

Again my spot is on mainstreet rift by the firehouse or town square the entertainment stops there and plays with you too throwing balls in the crowd and MANY times the characters came up to me and play around/commented on my Christmas attire.

I lined up 10/15 minutes prior as well - great spot

YAY! Thanks to Cyber Monday, my family and I are going to this years MVMCP!!! Frontier had $50.05 round trip airfares today (may still have some available) so we hopped on them and are headed down to MCO! We paid a total of 202 round trip for four of us from Detroit! Be warned if you are able to get some of the air fare deals, Frontier is a no frills airline and they charge for everything, including carry on! It works for us tho, it is a spur of the moment, whirlwind trip and I am so excited! I bought tickets for the party on the 15th...

That's awesome! That's exactly how we ended up going. I found RT fares on Frontier for $68 a person so we decided why not! We'll be there 12/9-12/12. We used them for a spur of the moment trip to Disney last NYE and I do agree they charge for everything, I'm surprised they don't charge for the air you breathe! We usually fly US Air (so now American I guess) and while I know the bags and all are built into it, it's easier to swallow when you don't see it. I have the AA credit card so I automatically get free bags which is nice. The boyfriend and I are sharing one checked suitcase to cut down on baggage fees.

I hope you have a great time! And thanks be to Frontier, who does charge for everything, for also providing cheap flights to get Disney addicts where they need to go!

Guys, as long as I pack my rain boots, umbrellas and coats, you know it won't rain then ;) I'll take one for the team and pack them.

Thanks! I've got some of my own rain stuff packed so if we all prepare for the worst we won't need it right?

:thanks: @goopysolelady !!!
Any ideas of where is a good spot? Or what time to stake out this spot???
TIA!

About halfway between Liberty Square area and Splash Mountain on the side of the river. I arrived about 20 minutes ahead of time from LS and walked until I found a good spot with a good view left and right...close to the walkway to the wooden sidewalk. Totally unobstructed view looking left to right. Parade characters were AWESOME...received a "double hug" from a couple of them; Cinderella's dancers winked and nodded their heads; Tinkerbell "spread Pixie Dust"; menacing "point" from Capt. Hook; one of the little bugs came over to me and nodded his head...LOTS of interaction. We use this area often and have always had good character interaction and views with one exception. The afternoon Festival of Fantasy was crazy crowded there but I was still able to get good pictures. GOOD LUCK! :thumbsup2 :tink:

Thanks so much for posting! You made me feel better about my impulsive purchase-LOL. We are arriving just after you leave, probably going to pass each other at MCO. Hope you have a blast too...

Total bummer :(
We may have to cancel our trip. So what does it mean by reassign ticket?

If you have to cancel the trip you might be able to get them refunded. We had a party member who couldn't go to the Halloween party last minute. The first CM we talked to on the phone so sorry, not refundable. We called back and the next CM was more than happy to refund them. So maybe try calling a few times and explaining yourself?

Hi All! I am going to spend some time tomorrow reading some of these previous threads, but I wanted some advice.

This is the 5th year that my mom and I will take my two kids (6 and 4) to the VMCP. We love it, but the past few years it has seemed as much work as enjoyment. Due to schedules we have to go on a Sunday or Friday night which I'm sure are the busiest nights, but it is soooo crowded. Lines for the parade, rides and meet and greets seem pretty much as long as they do at any other visit to the park, but with no fast pass!!

We try to get in by 4 and my kids are done (asleep) by the first fireworks show so we have to go to the first parade. We've found that we're only really able to do 1-2 rides, 1-2 meet and greets, the parade and the fireworks and grab a quick service dinner. In the past I've tried to just get something from Casey's on the way to the parade route and we eat while we're waiting for the parade. It seems like if you want to be on Main Street in front of the castle you have to reserve your spot well over an hour in advance. And we like being in that area b/c we can hang there for the fireworks and then leave pretty easily.

DO you have any advice to make this less stressful and maximize our trip? It seems like it's so much hurry up and wait and it's really taking some of the fun out of it. My 4 year old doesn't really like the big rides so we mostly just stick to Fantasyland. We also don't want to split up. Thanks so much for any advice!

Will the kids take naps? Maybe with a decently long nap they could stay up a little later.

I would have a big meal around 4:30 or 5. That way you don't need to spend party time eating. You could always grab a quick snack to have while you wait for the parade.

I would go Sunday night, those are likely to be less busy than Fridays because Sunday is a school/work night for locals.

If the kids like Sandy Claws (Jack Skellington from Nightmare before Christmas) he starts to meet at 5 for people with party wristbands. You could meet him before the party even starts. Which characters are everyone interested in seeing?

I can't really help you out with the parade seating in front of the castle. You could choose to sit near the tree and the train station instead, you should be able to get those spots later for the parade and that way you still get the good party atmosphere. The fireworks can be quite good from farther up Main Street.

Hello! We can't wait to be there. Is there a map or listing of where all the characters are? Is Santa still at the front entrance at the beginning of Main Street?

Hi! Just a quick weather note. This will be my 4th trip this year from Massachusetts. I watch weather like crazy. I have the WESH app on my phone! The weather is so unpredictable in Florida. In October it called for clear skies all night at Mickey's not-so-scary Halloween party. It poured! Other days it called for rain and it was beautiful. I just don't trust any of the weather. Listen to the reports but take it all with a grain of salt. I'll be at the party Friday! Try to stay positive :sunny:

Hello! We will be at the party on 12/13. I believe I saw somewhere on this thread where someone was talking about a memory maker for the party. Does anyone have any info on this? Thank you!

Ok question for those that have attended the Very Merry Christmas Party this year...do I need anything other than my pdf of the e-tickets? In the past those are the tickets to get you in just making sure its the same this year. For exampe, if my teens go ahead of me and the wife all they need are just the printed pdf of the e-ticket correct? TIA!
