Has anyone decorated their Magic Bands? Please show us the pictures!

I bought the blue band and the Halloween band and received the red band at no charge. I like to paint the Mickey heads on my bands and liked the way the blue and red bands turned out. For the Halloween band I matched the paint to the main color in the background of the band. I had planned to paint the Mickey head on this one but decided I liked it better this way. :)

I need to try the hairdryer trick because I have wrinkles in the bands. If you look closely at the red band you can see the wrinkles on the underside.

Well, I've got the kids' MB's finished, just need to do the acrylic sealer.

I used tattoos for their bands and used the trick (waaaaay) up thread using the cling wrap, base coat, white acrylic paint, glow paint and acrylic sealer.

I'm very excited and think they turned out really well; I have plenty of creativity, but absolutely no artistic ability, so I gotta work with my strengths. I'll work on DH and I's this week.

For the people that have painted their magic band with nail polish ... Does the nail polish crack over time? Is it flexible with the band? Thinking of painting it a metallic color...

It eventually cracks a little around the ends. It is barely noticeable on mine and certainly more noticeable on my bands from last year versus the one I just did. Mine are all metallic colors which I think helps hide the cracks a little.

Those came out great. How did you do them?
I designed them using me silhouette cameo designer software. I print then on my laster printer at my office with white water slide decal paper and then used cameo to cut them out perfect. You soak the decals in water and it just slides of the paper backing. Kings like a temp tattoo but it's on white decal so color of the band doesn't show through the decal on light colored parts. Then spared 2 coats of krylon acrylic spray, the layer of krylon glitter spar and 2 more of acrylic. I ran out of acrylic spar so I'm going to get more cause I'd like to not feel the glitter. Doing it over I'd probably do a layer of acrylic before the decal just to help glue it in place... Still love it though lol

*** I did end up redoing then when you. Bent the band under the image would pucker. Put a down base layer of acrylic before the image stopped theirs from happening. I'm a little bit of a perfectionist so this buged me lol now they are perfect flexible with no issues!

What is the best way to fill in the groove of the Mickey head on the bands?

I know some people have answered this saying that they've used nail polish, paint, etc. We just used a thin, black Sharpie. (You could use any color) It worked great and fit just so in between the grooves. Super easy and looked great. See...

You just need to be careful with sunscreen and sharpie that will remove sharpie ink...

Right - I should add that after we were done decorating, we put on a layer of base coat on our bands, including the mickey head.

Thanks, MagicYourBand!

Love your bands! I also use the thin sharpie to outline the Mickey heads.

Just back, got tons of comments on my bands. A number of people said I should sell them and every time the band was scanned cast members gathered around to see it. A few CMs took pictures. I think they like seeing something different at the scanners. Wore it in the pool, hot tub, parks, airport, everywhere. No cracks or missing gems. Also the band scanned every time, without fail.

DB opted not to do anything with his just yet, but here are mine. Nothing fancy, but prettier than plain, lol.

The glitter isn't as blotchy as it looks here, just bad lighting.
