It was a bit spooky finding the gifts from her mom. It did bring a smile to both of us.


She lost her mom when she was 13. It was a rough period but we got through it together. Also found a bunch of pictures that we haven't gone through yet but I am sure they will bring back a flood of memories.


Really tough but I guess someone has to do it. How did you play?

We played OK but not strong enough to win. Finished 6 under and I managed to get rid of my nasty slice off the tee. Well for the first 15 holes and then the beer kicked in.

Top O the Morning Dads! Week flew by for me and really looking forward to a not much planned weekend. A few small things around the house and then coaching DS through getting his act organized for college applications - at least I am more knowledgeable about this stuff this time around. Have a great weekend and enjoy the families.

I looked for the plates on eBay but couldn't find any listed. I think we are just going to keep them. The pasta bowls will come in handy but we have a ton of dishware in our house. Her mom has an expensive set of china, there is a full Christmas set, our everyday stuff and the ones I had in New York. Maybe I should open up a store.

New to the "Club" here. Got a lot of reading to catch up. Not sure how much of it I will get through. Spending a lot of time thinking about the next vacation currently planned in June 2016 but might get pushed to November 2016. Happy and sad about it. Happy because the weather and crowd will probably both be more tolerable, sad because it's an extra 5 months to wait. Wish I could afford to do both.

Here we go, Danny upgraded to a Cat. 3 Hurricane. Still way out there and S. Florida is not yet in its Path. They expect it to weaken over the next few days, BUT, they thought it was just going to peak as a Cat. 1 just yesterday. Depending on where it decides to go, I expect cruises to the Southern and Western Caribbean to take evasive action. Projected to hit Puerto Rico as a TS or maybe a 1 around Monday.

I've been watching that one as well.
Don't see it troubling me on the SC coast next week, and hopefully it won't break into the gulf...
but the Cape Verde storms always need to be watched.
They have a tenancy to get unruly.

The week is over and am glad Friday is here. 300 miles down with another successful week of college freshman returning to campus. Driving, sitting, meeting, driving does get to me though. Maybe if I just drank beer during the day it would go much better. The KY schools do have a tobacco free policy, but not an alcohol free policy.

Happy Saturday morning everyone. I had found a 5 day/ 4 night/ 2 days of park tickets at All Star Sports for $1200 at WDW. That was $1200 more than we had budgeted in lieu of the transmission repair. Still, it was a great deal and I should have booked it. Now, no longer available.

I'm hoping the beach makes up for this.

I remember those times and around here they still come over but are pretty much all grown up at 20 years old and up. Makes a Dad feel kinda old.

14 days until Florida kicks off the season! Can't wait.

Ah, college football back. ND opens up as well in 14 days against Texas.

Turns out... No, even if i had had more it wouldn't have been enough.
I got up early this morning to make breakfast and they were sprawled out all over the living room. I fed them chocolate chip waffles thinking they would be going home in a couple hours then I found out they are staying so I can take them to the pool. I think I must have been horrible in a previous life and am being punished for it now.

I remember those times and around here they still come over but are pretty much all grown up at 20 years old and up. Makes a Dad feel kinda old.

Ah, college football back. ND opens up as well in 14 days against Texas.

I married well. DW came up with a plan to get back to WDW this Fall Break. I did all the transactions and we are good.

Sat - Tues at the All Star Movies Resort. This is the last of the value resorts we have yet to stay in, so it marks off yet another accomplishment. We'll make a MNNSHP as well. Then, onto Disney's Vero Beach Resort for only 19 borrowed points. It is a cost neutral trip. We were already going to Orange Beach, and the price difference is offset by our Disney Visa Rewards. Even better, that TiW Card will SAVE me money on all the food and alcohol I plan to consume.

I feel it to brother. These kids I knew from elementary school are now about to graduate from college.

Should be a good game. Growing up Catholic and living in the NE, ND was the team you rooted for. Sunday afternoon when I was a tot, ND highlights with Lindsey Nelson was on the tube. A ritual for my dad and me.
