I've usually laundered mine in hot water, for sanitary reasons, with a cold water rinse per my machines' preferred/recommended settings. Works, beautifully! Just grab them out of the washer, fold, and put them, immediately into zip-lock bags to preserve the moisture. And, as an aside - I've even been able to resuscitate the stiff, dried-out cooling towels that have gone neglected by either simply running them under water, or re-laundering.Just wondering about laundering them, if you wash them in warm/hot water is that OK??
A frosty towel isn't the same thing as a frogg togg thing. I liked the towel better because it was nicer to use on my face. I got mine at AK for $8.
The package says you can reuse it. It comes in a resealable bag. I was bad about resealing mine so it dried out after a bit... But I have it in the freezer now to use again around the house. It comes soaked in a bunch of natural ingredients to make it feel cool and it tingles on the skin which I liked haha. You don't need to soak it in water again to make it cool again, you just wave it around in the air. But what I like about it was the small size and the soft cotton material. I might actually try getting some of the ingredients and soaking it in that stuff again... If the ingredients are easy to find haha.Thank you for the clarification! Can you re-use the frosty towel, or is it good for a single use? I'm thinking that the natural scent and lack of water will avoid the mildew smell. That was my only complaint for the Froggy Togg.
We tried them on our last summer trip, and they definitely helped to cool us off. I kept them in zip lock bags while in the parks. However, they became somewhat stinky. Anyone have a solution for that?
If you want them super cold in the parks go to the ice barrels with the drinks in them and dunk them in there.
Ah, I didn't realize the Frosty Towel was a different thing. Looks to me like it's a pre-moistened cotton towel, with some menthol to make it feel even cooler. The menthol effect isn't actual cooling, though; it's tricking your nerve endings and making them sense cold that isn't there. Any actual cooling is coming from the evaporation. I tend to think a PVA towel will work a lot longer without rewetting, because it's much more absorbent.A frosty towel isn't the same thing as a frogg togg thing. That sounds pretty gross. Pretty sure I don't want to buy a cold drink that people have been putting sweat soaked rags in....I know that hands etc likely touch the ice, but this seems to really cross a sanitation line.
I'll make sure I never by a bottled beverage at Disney again from the barrels. That sounds pretty gross. Pretty sure I don't want to buy a cold drink that people have been putting sweat soaked rags in....I know that hands etc likely touch the ice, but this seems to really cross a sanitation line.

Then I suggest you don't take a coke bottle from the barrel because people do it all day long. Everyones hands are in that water all day it is no less sanitary than a rag going in it in fact the rag will be less likely to contain ecoli and other nasty stuff than hands.
That rag touches one persons hands that barrel has thousands of hands in it every day. Sorry but I will not let your issue in being a germaphobe effect me. All I can say is if you don't like the idea don't buy the drinks. Why would a rag be less likely to contain bacteria than a person's hands? Presumably the rag owner touches it, so bacteria would transfer as would skin cells and sweat. The warm, moist environment of the rag contributes to the growth of the bacteria as well as mold (thus the funky, mildew smell the towels get after a while). That barrel water basically becomes bath water. I can't believe Disney allows this to go on since it would be a major health code violation that, if seen by a health inspector, would require that all the drinks in the tub be thrown away and the barrel scrubbed and sanitized before being used again.

I'm not a germaphobe. I didn't call you the name that I have in my head for you, and I don't appreciate you calling me a name either. My husband is a chef, and any one in the food industry will tell you that the barrel is contaminated once that rag goes in. I honestly don't drink soda so it makes no difference to me, but you should know you are grossing out a lot of people.
