Pictures of things No Longer Seen at WDW

I have really enjoyed going back through memory lane through 75 pages of wonderful nostalgia. Thank you everyone for posting!!

How do I post pictures?? I enjoyed this thread so much that I just registered so I can share something special, but I can't see how to add an attachment...

Welcome to the DIS!

The easy way to post is drag the picture file from your desktop and drop it in the window where you type replies. Alternately, click the UPLOAD A FILE button below the typing box. (Not sure if you have to have ten posts before the system lets you upload files.)

Looking forward to your contribution.

You must be right about the 10 posts thing, because I don't see an option to upload a file. So I had to use Flickr. More than one way to skin a cat! :)

"Would you like to buy some Itchy & Scratchy money? It's just like regular money, but, you know, fun."
"Well, if it's fun...I'll take 1100 dollars worth."

First thing I thought of!!

And then, of course, Homer's entrance into the park...

I blame the Dining Plan on what I miss most. I miss the lobster you used to be able to get at various places including the Coral Reef. This was from there.

So true, Bill. The dining plan, and even worse, the 'free' dining, have both heavily contributed to the overall degradation of dining at WDW, in choice, quality and cost.

This is the only picture I have that I can contribute to this great thread. I do believe you can only see the seven dwarfs now during parties. This was taken 2002 EPCOT. My first Disney World trip. I ran over to take this picture and my then BF now DH thought I was so silly.

They has Dopey out with Snow last September at MK. So he's rare but they do bring him out sometimes. :)

I miss the topiaries so much. Before out first trip to WDW as a family, I was telling DH and DS about driving onto property and seeing them lining the roads. I was so disappointed when we didn't see any:sad1: We did get to see some at Epcot for F&G last month. However, thank you for posting this. I was finally able to prove that I wasn't imagining things, and DS loved the picture.

The Land was sponsored by Kraft for the first 10 years of it's existence and the revolving restaurant was initially named "The Good Turn" until 1986 when the name was changed to the Land Grille. It used to serve all 3 meals. The Good Turn Restaurant used to give out copies of some of their recipes on folded cards with the photo of the dish on the outside and recipe on the inside. Here are some of the recipe cards they gave out:

They had awesome key lime pie. I remember eating there as a child with my Grandpa. He loved that the restaurant rotated.
