Are you showing these puppy pictures to MM? He needs to get to know his little brother too :dog::dog:

Lookie lookie, it's Erin!!! HI ERIN!! :wave2:

Hello there! I found my way over from your TR. Joining in the fun and shenanigans!! I can't wait to hear the plans for all 3 trips. It sounds like Alli has her planning well under way. I totally LOVE the idea of a Harry Potter day. I have such good intentions of doing this on one of my trips, but I can't seem to pull myself away from that darn Mouse!

Anyway, can't wait to read more.

Hi D~! I'm back from the world and just caught up here. I read so much and being a little tired still, I don't even remember what I wanted to reply to now. Oh well!

We had a fabulous time this week! The weather was absolutely perfect. It was 85-88F every single day. The only rain we had was a little bit over night on Thursday and a tiny, tiny cell that hit us as we were driving out of Orlando Friday evening. Even though it was busy, we did everything we wanted to at each park. We did have a few moments of teenage attitude, but thankfully that passed quickly. I'll have to see what I can put together this week about the trip and I have to gather all our pictures (3 cell phones, 1 camera and photopass) in the next couple of weeks and then I promise to post a couple here for you and the rest will get posted on FB eventually.

Right now, we are going to try to watch a couple of tv shows from last week. Considering we were on the road for 4 hours Friday (after being in the park for 11 hours) and 17.5 hours yesterday and got home at 1:30 this morning, we'll probably pass out on the couch shortly after we start the first one. Lol!

I couldn't agree more with you letting your girls live their lives and make their own decisions. I'm the same way with my daughter. I'll always be there for my daughter, but she needs to gain her own independence and make her own decisions what she feels is right for her.

BTW, you look fabulous with your weight loss! :thumbsup2

We're supposed to get some snow tonight and tomorrow morning also. BOOOO! I thought we were so over with the cold temps and snow. This is Spring now. :confused3

Are you showing these puppy pictures to MM? He needs to get to know his little brother too :dog::dog:

Lookie lookie, it's Erin!!! HI ERIN!! :wave2:
Hi Suzi! :yay: One of only 2 Disers I've ever met! I know, aren't you shocked! Probably won't see me for another couple months as I never can stay caught up until i do a binge read. Now I'll have to check if you have a PTR going on!

Birthday cake? Lol we are the family that picks cookies over cake so I almost never get to bake cakes. I can't imagine working at Target. I'm pretty sure I'd just have to hand my paycheck over to them. I have a favorite Target on Interstate 35 that I make DH stop at every time we head to the cities and my kids groan because they know it's coming lol We are just in the clearing...snow scheduled for 20 miles North but not us. We live 30 miles shy of the Minnesota border. I am so ready for the sunshine to stick around. Glad I found you on FB! Enjoy your Sunday!!!

Well, Gus' cake isn't technically a cake... Well, it might be? I"ll take pictures later.... It probably won't be pretty, but it's the thought that counts, right? LOL

I do enjoy working at Target for the discount, but it's not such a huge discount that we couldn't live life with out it... but it's nice to have. :thumbsup2 Hmmm... :scratchin I have no idea which Target you are talking about? I don't get over that direction often.

Yah - we got snow... V came down with shorts on this morning and I sent her back up to change... She is very angry that the snow messed up her outfit plans this morning. ::yes::

Glad you found me too - have a nice week!

Oops. Yes, I meant Gus.

I hope it clears up soon. It is probably just your excellent immune system (excellent because you are eating healthy) fighting something nasty and you would be sicker if you weren't so healthy. At least that is my reasoning. But it is frustrating to do so many things right and have a lingering illness.

I really hope you get a chance to go on this trip. You need to stay at the VWL. The Wilderness Lodge is our favorite resort for theming and we love it there. I would hope you would like it, too.

You both look very cute in that picture.

Hehehe... I figured. :thumbsup2

I hope so, LOL... I am so tired of being sick! I am convinced that I've had 3 different viruses in the last 2 weeks... The chest cold, the stomach thing, and now this throat thing.

I am planning on it - I really want to make it work. I think I have an idea - but we'll have to see. :scratchin

Thanks Sue.

Hi D! I'm here!
I am started to reintegrate The Dis back into my life a bit and yours was the first TR I needed to catch up on, and finish apparently, and now you are on to a new PTR! exciting! I am off to start reading.

Thank you for the sweet words you posted in your last TR when my mom passed away, that was so nice of you.

Hi Erin!!!!!!!! I am so happy to see you here! It's been so long, but I am glad I've been able to keep up with you on FB.

If we have to get snow this time of year, I am so very happy that it does not last! We had a snow storm on Friday - started just before I had to leave for work. Luckily the roads were warm enough from the 50 degrees temps during the last week, that it did not stick to the roads. The lawns had a nice coating of white for a day, but it is all gone now. Just the way I like it. We call these snows "onion snow" because this is about the time that the onions get planted.

I know - that's the only good thing about it. Ours stuck - but hopefully it's gone very soon, I haven't been able to see much outside - it's still dark - but if I were to guess, I'd say we got at least 12" last night - and our snow has been completely melted and gone for weeks... but I"ll never forget a couple years ago - we got something like 12" at the beginning of May - right before V's birthday... That is the latest I ever remember having snow in recent years.

All I know is that I am ready for spring. LOL

Sorry you're not feeling well again. I woke up with a sore throat today. too. I took some allergy meds and they seem to be helping.
My daughter drove me before the house they're buying today. It looks nice and Wednesday the realitor is letting me see the inside.
I got another sewing machine yesterday. It's an old singer that needs some love, mostly just cleaning and adjusting. A friend of mine is moving to California and doesn't want to take it with her.
Hope you feel better soon.
Liz

Liz, I swear you and I have the same viruses this year. Praying you are feeling better soon too!

Yay! I am so excited for them, and how nice of the realtor to get you in there so you can see it - that's awesome!

And :woohoo: for a new/old machine - those are the best!

Thank you - you too!

All caught up, so happy to hear that Alli is feeling better for the most part. 3 trips wowzers! and here I thought the last trip was the last for quite a while. I hope it all works out and you get to go in Nov with Mo and Suzi, that sounds like so much fun. I'm really hopeful that one day I have a little girl to take on trips to Disney. Seeing how close you and the girls are, I really admire that and I hope one day I have a little girl and that type of relationship with her. Ugh, sigh, future goals. Anywhoo the puppies are ADORABLE!!!! Max is going to be the best big brother! If he needs some practice I'm happy to ship Rogue down for a visit... LOL

Reading your TR I am confused about something, Alli and V (and Gus apparently) all seem to end school at different times of day, do they go to the same school, or all separate schools?

Well, it was the last trip for a while... There will be about 115 months between trips... Soooo... A little less that what I'd thought.

Thank you - I love the relationship I have with the girls, I don't know how I did it? But I love it, and I could only dream that every mother could be as lucky as I am. One day - I am certain you will be Erin.

Hehehe... I don't know if I could handle Rogue? LOL Even though - I do interact with Ridgebacks often. ::yes::

Alli and V go to the same school, and they get out at the same time - however - sometimes one of the girls has to stay after/get out early for various reasons - so I can see where you would be confused. And with Alli having mono these last few months - I've had to get her out of school even earlier if she's running a fever/swollen. Gus does go to a different school - he is actually in college - so his class times vary and sometimes he has classes that only run a half-semester... I can't really keep up with his classes or when they are, I just know which nights he's usually at the table for dinner and I try to plan accordingly. ::yes:: Gus also works 2 jobs... One is on weekday mornings until noon, then his other job is retail - so his hours/days there vary too. :scratchin

Are you showing these puppy pictures to MM? He needs to get to know his little brother too :dog::dog:

Lookie lookie, it's Erin!!! HI ERIN!!

Yes, I have been showing puppy pictures to MM - he is very unimpressed. ::yes:: Just wait until we set up MM's puppy kennel... Then he will be interested.

I know - I am so excited to have Erin back on The Dis!

Hello there! I found my way over from your TR. Joining in the fun and shenanigans!! I can't wait to hear the plans for all 3 trips. It sounds like Alli has her planning well under way. Anyway, can't wait to read more.

Stephanie!!!! Hello there girl - it's been too long!!!! How are you????

Yes, I am very excited for all of these trips! I cannot wait to do some DIsney with Suzi and Mo, and all of the kidlets! And I am very excited to do Disney at a liesurely pace with Allison... Then again with V a few months later. It's going to be so much fun!

So glad to have you here and back on The Dis.

Hi D~! I'm back from the world and just caught up here. I read so much and being a little tired still, I don't even remember what I wanted to reply to now. Oh well!

Lol!

Yay!!! Glad to have you back, I really enjoyed following your trip on FB - glad it was awesome and that you arrived back home safely. I hate to say that it went too quickly though.

Oooh I know your frustrations with having photos on many devices - I hated that! LOL I am glad our next trips will just be my devices, and maybe Alli's big camera - but she never gives me those photos anyways, so I never plan to use them for my TRs. LOL

I hope you all had a great night's sleep, hopefully you don't have to go right back to work this morning, so you have a day to recouperate. ::yes::

Again - welcome back! Looking forward to seeing some photos!

I couldn't agree more with you letting your girls live their lives and make their own decisions. I'm the same way with my daughter. I'll always be there for my daughter, but she needs to gain her own independence and make her own decisions what she feels is right for her.

BTW, you look fabulous with your weight loss!

We're supposed to get some snow tonight and tomorrow morning also. BOOOO! I thought we were so over with the cold temps and snow. This is Spring now.

Thanks for your understanding on that - it's so hard, but I firmly believe as parents, we have to do what we feel is right - and there is just too much judgement in this world.

Thank you... I've had a rough few weeks with eating/not working out as hard while I've been sick - and I've getting down on myself about it. I've just been so tired... But I've bene pushing through and doing the best I can. I guess it's part of life, and I need to roll with it. ::yes::

Yah - we got snow last night - a lot of it. As I said above, about 12"... After having it completely gone - this is a rude awakening... Hopefully it doesn't stay long - and the moisture will help us with turning everything green. ::yes::

Hi Suzi! One of only 2 Disers I've ever met! I know, aren't you shocked! Probably won't see me for another couple months as I never can stay caught up until i do a binge read. Now I'll have to check if you have a PTR going on!

Again - welcome back Erin! So glad to see you on The Dis again! :lovestruc

************************************************************************************************************

I had a pretty lazy day yesterday. I did get up to my sewing room for a little while.

Then I laid down in bed for a while and watched "Walk the Line" - the Johnny Cash movie - I love that movie.

Josh made pheasent wild rice soup for dinner - it was delicious.

And then I fell asleep before Once Upon a Time even came on.

This virus is just wiping me out!

Today... I just got back from driving Alli to school ~ ahem ~ her driving herself to school, and me riding along. Since we got approx 12" of beautiful, perfect, Christmas like snow... It might be her last chance to drive in it with her permit - so I figured that I better make the trip... I had lasagna supplies to get anyways for dinner tonight. :thumbsup2

I am going to work out shortly. I must do it. My eating was less than stellar over the weekend.

Then I am in my sewing room this morning finishing up last week's order.

I am going to quit at lunch time...

See... It's Gus' birthday today... And I promised him a cake - which really isn't a cake at all... He doesn't like sweets much - so I am improvising. ::yes:: I am also making him dinner - one of his favorite requests - lasagna. So, making cake and lasagna in one day - well, it will take some time. :)

That's all of our excitement for one day...

I hope you all have a great day - prayers and good thought's go out to all of you! :grouphug:

D~

Happy Birthday to Gus!!! your a great Promise mom (umm is that right? or such a thing?) to make him a cake that isn't a cake and lasagna!
So much going on in your little abode promise rings- puppies- birthdays! wowza! a promise ring.. your a great Mom... always. never allow others opinions change yours. your doing great!

Hi,

Happy Birthday to Gus! Because he doesn't like sweets I might be tempted to make the lasagna his cake. But, that's my quirky sense on humor. I'm the person that has made colored mashed potatoes for "frosting" on meatloaf.

I hope that the virus goes away and leaves you alone. Being sick is never fun.

Enjoy your sewing time. I've been magnets for our cruise room doors. My mom bought a Disney plastic canvas needlepoint book in the 1990's and I've been adapting the characters into magnets. It's been fun, I love hand stitching. My next project is making sashes for Pirates night on the ship. Argh!

Have a great day!!

Good morning. I guess I shouldn't complain at the rain we are having for Spring Break. We haven't gotten any snow this year. College visits and promise rings...my head would be spinning. You are a good mom.

On a side note, we had thought Marissa would only be able to go to the community college. She begged to apply at UO. I really thought it would be a waste of the $50 application fee. Then the week before Spring Break, we got a letter from the financial aid office and since she was an in-state student, with a great GPA and she qualified for a pell grant (very small amount - $300), she was entered into the Pathways program that Oregon has. She has to keep her GPA a certain level and continue to qualify for the Pell Grant each year, but they are paying all her tuition and fees. We pay for books only. And it is good for 12 terms (4 years). I told my co-worker about it, his son is a senior this year, so he went ahead and applied to UO. He got the same deal. They are super excited. We had no idea this program existed. Financial aid workers at the highschool never said anything. It wasn't publicized. Community college is about $2500/term here and UO is around $4000/term. So this year, if she had gone to community college, I would have paid $7500. I think I was so blown away last year by that, we took an extra trip to WDW. We felt bad for others that would have received it if they had applied. You can't transfer from a community college and get it. Long story short, keep your options open.

I found you!! So many things going on!!

YAH!! for the many upcoming trips! I'm bummed we had to cancel this year, and that my ticker now says...446 days until back at Disney...:(

but, what can you do??

SORRY to hear you've been feeling crappy! I had the flu last week and it's ending with a horrible sinus thing - I'm all clogged up...its gross...

YEAH for puppies!! We have 2 dogs and find that even though it can be "much" with 2 of them, they love each other and can't stand to be apart!! Wait until they get to be the same size and decide to play "bitey face" or "butt tuck" around the house - lots of noise and dogs zipping around!!

:tongue::tongue:

you are looking FANTASTIC!! I'm down 32lbs now, and bought a few pairs of pants yesterday that were 3 sizes smaller than before!! I've got 43lbs to go!!

Can't wait to hear all about the trips/dogs/family!

Walk the Line is one of my favorite movies! I can watch it over and over. And, actually, I prefer Reese Witherspoon's voice to June Carter Cash's.

Happy Birthday Gus!!
I'm used to making cakes that aren't cakes as our whole house doesn't really like birthday cake. Bradey gets fruit or cheesecake instead. And Bill and I love a fruit trifle :)
I know....you are shocked that we don't just have frosted lobster here in Maine, right??

Happy Birthday to Gus!!! your a great Promise mom (umm is that right? or such a thing?) to make him a cake that isn't a cake and lasagna!

Hahaha... I am not sure what it makes me? I must be someone important though. :scratchin

The not cake turned out quite tasty - it was a little dry, but good. And the lasagna was very good too. ::yes::

Thank you. Love you!

Hehehe, I should have... But I didn't. Maybe next year?

I hope so too... Some days I feel good and then whammy - it hits me again. So far, so good today... Hopefully I am over it now.

Sounds like you are having lots of fun! I love creating trip customs and fun stuff - it's my favorite part of trip planning - however it's also the most stresssful. But after everything comes together - well... ::yes::

Thank you - you too! :lovestruc

OOoh - Shannon - this is very good info... I will talk to Alli about it. It sure would be nice if she could get a grant or two to help with her costs. I have heard of Pell grants before - but I don't know anything about them.

Congratulations to Marissa - this is just wonderful! I am so proud of her - as I am sure you are too! :thumbsup2

Hi!!! Welcome! I am glad you found me too! :woohoo:

Bummer about having to cancel your trip... I"ve been there, many times - it's so hard! Hopefully you are able to plan another one soon.

I sure hope you are feeling better soon - that sounds very awful!

Hahaha... I can't wait! I hope they are better friends than my girls are. :scratchin

Thank you! It's been a rough couple of weeks for me, with being sick... I haven't had the ambition to make anything special for myself - which has led me to eating a lot of stuff that I wouldn't normally eat. I need to get back to being strict (or not as loose) again, because I definitely feel a difference in myself.

Congratulations to you!!! That is awesome! I bet you feel great! :woohoo: And even better to be down 3 sizes!! That's my favorite part - new clothes! ::yes::

Thank you! I am excited to share! Again - welcome! :lovestruc

Walk the Line is one of my favorite movies! I can watch it over and over. And, actually, I prefer Reese Witherspoon's voice to June Carter Cash's.

I know, me too... And I love Reese as an actress... Another all time favorite of her's - Sweet Home Alabama... I can also watch that movie over and over again. I think with both movies - part of it is the music... As a little girl, my mom LOVED Johnny Cash - so it brings back a lot of memories of my mom listening to his music. :lovestruc And a good love story doesn't hurt either. ::yes::

Happy Birthday Gus!!
I'm used to making cakes that aren't cakes as our whole house doesn't really like birthday cake. Bradey gets fruit or cheesecake instead. And Bill and I love a fruit trifle
I know....you are shocked that we don't just have frosted lobster here in Maine, right??

Thanks! Oooh - I love trifles too... I always try to make one for Christmas - although this year, mine flopped. :scratchin But it tasted good - it just didn't look pretty.

Seriously - no frosted lobster? Why am I even coming?

Kidding - I love you Suzi - no frosting n' all. :lovestruc

*********************************************************************************

I had a very productive day yesterday...

I worked out after I got home - it was a bit later than I like to do it, but it was a relief to have it done. I certainly have not had the ambition lately.... And I've really been down on myself for it. I am coming into the home stretch of my journey - and I feel like I am really stalled out. It's so hard to keep pressing on, when I just keep spinning my wheels... but I do. Over the course of the last 3 weeks of being sick - I've only taken off one day of working out (besides my regular days off) - so I really haven't been that bad. But my eating... I shouldn't even get down on myself for that, but I am. My eating has been way less than stellar - and I really need to reign it in, and do it now. I just haven't had the desire to make the extra effort it takes lately - I am not sure if it's because of my being sick or if it's from my Whole30 and all the extra effort it took for me to be compliant with that? I sometimes feel as if the strictness of the Whole30 burned me out a little bit - and in a way changed my mentality about how I look at food? I know this might sound strange - but whe Whole30 is so strict - now that I am done with it, I still "feel" like I should be that strict all the time - and even though I know I don't need to be, I get down on myself because I am not. Does that make any sense? I am not doing horribly, by any means - but I am eating stuff that I never used to give a second thought to... and it's things like that I need to get a handle on... And the sooner the better. I think it's time to dig out my books and refocus again. ::yes:: I will do that tonight. Here's to a better eating day today.

I did get up to my sewing room yesterday... And I finished last week's bag. Technically, I am scheduled off this week - but one of my customers leaves on a trip late next week - so I am going to try and finish up her order this week, so she can use it on her trip. Then next week will be spent on some extra stuff I've been meaning to work on. ::yes::

I was done in my sewing room at exactly 11:04 am... So I went right to work on Gus' birthday "cake"... He told me a few weeks ago that he loves the "Pillsbury sweet orange rolls"... I've never heard of them - but I don't buy anything Pillsbury/Betty Crocker/similar at all anymore - so I went on a quest to find a recipe... In desperation, I turned to Pinterest... Doesn't everyone? Hehehe... Easy enough right? So, I've been buying the ingredients over the last couple of weeks. All of my life, I've been super intimidated by yeast - ::yes:: - and I coulnd't find a recipe for this anywhere that didn't include yeast... So, guess what I did yesterday? I conquered my fear of yeast! I made these sweet orange rolls, and I was pretty impressed. No junk in them at all... Unless - you are grain free, like I am supposed to be - there's flour in them. But aside from that... The orange flavor came from real oranges... They turned out pretty good... And for added measure - I made them in cake pans, so his rolls would have a "cake shape". Over all - it took me 5 hours to make this - I must confess - I was prepping lasagna in between though, and that includes all the time for the dough to rise and such. I think he liked them... I know the girls and I did. LOL

20150323_183953.jpg

We had a fun night, and it was nice to just hang out with the girls and Gus at the table and chat. I think Gus liked his gifts... Allison got him a new electric razor set that he'd asked for. And Josh/A/V/and I got him a season pass to Valley Fair - since Allison already has her's for this year - I figured they needed something "free" to do this summer. The season pass covers admission and parking - so all they have to fund is the gas/food. If they use them twice, they pay for themselves... So, hopefully they have a fun summer.

Since it was "National Puppy Day" yesterday on FB... Guess what I have for you all??? Oh yes... ::yes:: The little munchkins now have their eyes open... and they are cuter than ever! No idea who is who in these pictures... I know the darker one is Daisy - but the others are hard to tell apart because they are all the same color.

Today is a Target day for me... Then I am getting my hair done after - it is beyond much needed! As of now, I am feeling pretty good.

I also have my heavy lifting on the schedule today.

I hope you all have a wonderful day! Prayers and good thoughts go out to all of you! :grouphug;

D~

Oh my gosh, those are the best puppy pictures yet! They are so darn adorable! How are you going to pick just ONE?? This is the real reason why we don't have one. I could never walk into a place and pick out one and just leave the others staring after me saying "pick me.....pick me.....I love you". Awwwwww, so cute!

You did a great job on the Orange rolls. The "cake" looks very yummy :)

your killing me with these puppy pictures! they are just sooooo adorable! love the picture of the golden in their pen.. Inspiration? Grow to be a GOLDEN kids! HA HA HA..

I am NOT going to lie to you or sugar coat this.
but that not a cake? god i hope it tastes better then it looks.... Then you ended with those ADORABLE fat puppies i want to squish.

Hi,

I love Gus birthday cake. It looks oh so good, yet oh so naughty. It's hard to be on track when you aren't feeling well with your foods. I'm crossing my fingers that being sick is passed for you.

Thank you for the daily puppy pictures they make my day.

HAPPY BIRTHDAY TO GUS!!! Sorry its a little late, but I've been so busy.

Glad you are feeling better! I can honestly say I think I am on the mend. But now Britt has a cold. I am keeping her locked up in her room (kidding) and I walk around with Lysol. NO WAY DO I WANT THOSE GERMS!!!

Glad Alli and Gus enjoyed the college visit. It is hard to see them make these decisions and then have to let them go. Awwww, a promise ring. I know how you feel, and I too agree with what is meant to be will be.
College is not cheap. We are still in the college process and learning. Finishing up year 2 in a few weeks. Have Alli look into Pell Grants or scholarships. (Here we have FAFSA and TAP which we apply for to help cut costs). It does not hurt to apply for them and sometimes you will be surprised at to what you will get. Britt and I have learned so much with the college process (like renting textbooks instead of buying them).
Oh, those puppies. I would have to bring them ALL home.

Sorry about the snow. We just can't get a break here with the temperatures. It is starting to get to me. I am a hot weather type of girl.

Have a wonderful day!!!

I know what you mean about the eating and being down on yourself. We need to learn to let go of what has happened and focus on our eating for the current day. (this coming from a woman that was doing really good this morning until she saw the peanut butter m&ms on the office kitchen table for sharing. {yes I took a small handful :sad2:}) Tis busy season at work has had me really stressed out...that and the trip with Matt being unemployed...and I am a big stress eater.

Great job on the birthday cake! And getting over your fear of yeast! My biggest problem with yeast is I like to keep my house temperature cool...too cool for yeast to rise. You need to share that recipe too.

And puppies! What can I say...too much cuteness!

Have a good day!

Lynn
