I'm at Beach Club now, not Yacht - August 17-23!

Got it. I'll make the change. :)

I am staying until the 24th - thanks for adding me! :flower1:

Thanks! :thumbsup2

I have been secretly stalking this thread for awhile, but I am so happy to finally post that I've booked a stay for September 8-17 at the Beach Club in a garden view room. I am SO excited! My husband and I previously stayed at the BCV for 6 nights with one night at the BC in October 2011. I've been saving since then and now we will be returning with a 2 year old DD and 9 month DS. We will have other family meeting us down there, but will be spread out in different resorts. I'm sure I will be back to post a few questions. Thank you for all the info on page 1, it's fanatastic!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

Ask away with any questions you have!

:cool1:

We are returning to BC after many years at GF and CR. All of our dates were not available for a last minute trip so we are splitting between GF and BC. Can anyone confirm if you can still use the door near 1501 to exit/enter towards IG ? If so, do you need your magic band to operate the door or a key card ? Thanks so much for your help.

:welcome:

When is your last minute trip? Hope you have a fantastic time.

:cool2:

Just popping in out of shear excitement! We just changed our December trip from a long weekend - to a week long vacation at Beach Club! We will be there from Dec. 26 - Jan. 2nd!! Can't wait to ring in the New Year there! Woohoo! Now, just to wait until this summer for our first official BC stay... and then follow it up 5 months later! SO excited!

:welcome: again!

I'll add your new trip to the Be Our Guest list.

:santa:

Just booked a 1-bedroom at BCV for 5 nights, Oct. 26-31! It is part of a split stay, and our first three nights will be in a BLT 1-bedroom. We have stayed at the YC before, and really loved it. There is nothing better than the Epcot resort area. I have read a little about the BCV rehab, and I hope that most of it is completed by the time we are there, but I guess we will have to wait and see. Our son is turning 2 on Oct 20, so we are happy to have the 1-bedroom so we can have privacy while he sleeps. I will scour this thread and read anything I can on the DVC boards, but I would appreciate any suggestions about room requests and/or activities around the resort for a 2-year-old. Can't wait for our trip!!!

:welcome: back!

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

Can't really help you with the activities for your son, but I do want to make sure that you know about the kiddie pool and slide that are underneath the big Jib slide. I didn't know about that until after my first couple of trips!

Ceramics-Sandcastle Club
Wednesdays from 1:30 to 3:30 pm
(from March 2015 Activities Program)

Bring the whole family to create your very own masterpiece! Ceramics must be picked up after 4:30 pm the following day. There is a materials fee charged for this activity.

I don't know if this is new- I haven't seen it or noticed it before. I don't know what the cost is or what choices you have for items you can make. Sounds like a fun rainy afternoon activity. If anyone has done this or will do it, I would love more info!

FYI- I have started the trip report from my recent visit to the Dark Side and have a couple of chapters posted. The report is not for everyone (Teena, you may be excused from participating :lmao: ), but if you have an upcoming trip to Universal/Islands of Adventure you may want to join in.

YES that's my post and picture from last July's stay! Thanks so much for finding it, Shoreward. And thank you natebenma for the email info. I remember using that email address in the past to compliment certain CM's at the BC CL, and I did receive a reply back thanking me for providing feedback.

As far as the noisy room(s), it helps tremendously to know it wasn't just me and there seems to be an issue in all the ".699" rooms where the elevator must run up and down. Yes, ours was a lagoon view room. And while the room view was great with a very large balcony, I'd give those up for a room without the horrendous noise.....which is why I booked a standard view CL room for our upcoming trip (besides the fact that I thought there was a better chance of getting a daybed!).

FYI- A friend who was at the Beach Club last week asked about the renovations. They were told the 4th floor is completely done and open for bookings. We all have guessed that, but it is good to have confirmation. I'm not sure what the progress on the 3rd floor is.

If anyone hears about work starting on BCV, please let me know.

Thanks!

Thanks Jay... I was diagnosed 20 years ago and have a pump and continuous glucose monitor. I have had some majr setbacks in the past 4 months so my dr and husband talked me into an alert service dog. The dog can already sense some things and we haven't even begun that training yet. God bless your daughter as well. Let your daughter know this disease does not have to hinder ANY of her dream. I was diagnosed at 17 and I still played college soccer, have my dream career and am extremely active in mountain bike racing. Never let her say she cant do it!

Thanks Couchy!

She was diagnosed 2 years ago at 11 years old. She was drinking a ton of water and getting up to pee at night, two things she never did, and my wife knew something was wrong right away. She has worn the Omnipod the last year and a half, which has been a God send. We tried the CGM for a bit but she is thin and muscular (I wish someone would say that about me!) so it was painful for her when we put it on. She hasn't worn it in a bit but we plan on trying it again soon. She did wear it at the BC last year for our trip and it worked amazingly well.

Like you she is very athletic as well. Plays JV soccer, tennis and basketball for our local high school team (even though she is only in 8th grade) as well as softball in the summer so thankfully her diagnosis isn't holding her back at all. So glad to hear about your doing the same and I passed that on to her. We do the JDRF walk here in Boston each year and she has raised almost $10,000 over the last 2 years so we are giving back in hopes of a cure!! I hear they are close so fingers crossed and many prayers for all of you affected that a cure is in our grasp!

Many blessings and thank you for your inspirational words!

Jay

Stormalong Bay Access

I am sitting in the shade by the YC entrance to Stormalong bay.
I just witnessed three women and their brood of kids try to access the pool, saying they valet parked so they could use pool...... No. Just no.
Cast member was polite, professional, and firm in turning them away even when head of group asked to speak to a manager.
