Disney Parks Moms Panel 2015

Just posted on the Disney Parks Blog! The search begins on September 2nd!

In my many years with Disney Parks, I’ve been fortunate to work on many amazing projects. One project near and dear to my heart will always be the creation and launch of the Walt Disney World Moms Panel in 2008.

The panel, made up of everyday moms and dads from around the globe, have answered hundreds of thousands of questions over the years – covering just about every Disney vacation topic imaginable. Their knowledge of Disney Parks and their passion to help our guests shines in their answers. In fact, you’ve met quite a few of them here on the Disney Parks Blog.

The panel became so popular that several years ago it was expanded to include other Disney Parks vacation experiences. The name was officially changed to the Disney Parks Moms Panel.

September has traditionally been a special month for the Disney Parks Moms Panel. It’s when we search for new panelists to join the team for the next calendar year. It’s a rigorous and thorough process, consisting of multiple rounds, that determines who will be selected to represent the panel and answer vacation questions from guests around the globe.

Thousands will apply for a small number of spots on the panel. But please, don’t let that be a deterrent. The most recent panelists to join the team include several who have applied every year, a few who applied for the very first time, and those in between. Dreams really can come true.

This year, applications will open at 10 a.m. ET on Tuesday, September 2, 2014, and will remain open until noon ET on Friday, September 5, 2014.

If you know a mom, dad or grandparent who is your “go-to” person for advice about a Disney Parks vacation and loves to help others plan their trips, encourage them to apply for the Disney Parks Moms Panel. (Be sure to check the rules and regulations on the application to insure eligibility.)

More information about becoming a panelist can be found here.

I arrive at Animal Kingdom Lodge on Tuesday! Will anyone else be doing their application from "home"?

Kinda sorta. I will be at a DTD resort for work. But if I make R2 and if timelines are similar to last year, I could be doing videos while on the Dream.

I find it a little strange that the search date was announced on the blog, yet the application page still says "coming soon".

The window for R1 is earlier and shorter this year! If you haven't been waiting and watching (and let's face it -- who here hasn't!) it would be easy to miss!

Do you remember the application dates last year? I know I submitted R1 on 9/9 because I checked my old emails, but I didn't apply at the last minute. So yeah, definitely earlier this year like Gary said it would be.

I believe the application week was 9/9 - 9/13 last year. I think R1 has always opened on the second Monday of September, as far as I can remember. And I know the application page listed the date well before the Friday before!!

I noticed that too. They may have actually done that purposely so that they wouldn't receive as many applicants this year. :confused3 I'm sure going through all of them is a pretty daunting task.

Yes, I agree. They've given more notice in the past and the time period in which to apply has always been longer. Like I said above, perhaps they're actually hoping to receive less applicants this year to make it a little more manageable. As we know, those who made it to Round 3 last year will automatically advance to Round 2 (jealous! :)), so they've got some phenomenal talent to choose from already.

Hmmm....

This is the shortest application window I remember-- only four days and 2 hours. Does Gary (or Mickey or Walt) have something significant with 98?? Is the Moms Panel application our "Flight to Danger?"

At least no one will have to be up until midnight trying to get their essays and answers in on time.

Good luck all!!

1998 is the year the Disney Magic launched!

It does seem an odd length of time, doesn't it? I think it's technically three days and two hours (for 74 hours total).

Wooo. How could I count wrong by a whole day!?! Thanks for finding my error.

Discovery Island opened in 1974.

Maybe they will take 74 new peeps for the Moms Panel.

Now it is just 74 more hours until the fun begins!!

Where does the time go?

Hard to believe it is about to start all over again! Looking forward to applying again this year, and keeping my fingers crossed that this is my year!

We just returned from a quick last minute trip, so I'm refreshed and all ready to go! I have always planned our Disney vacations for months before our arrival. This time, I literally had two days! It was a blast and would do it again without hesitation!

Good luck to everyone!

It's time!! Yeah!!

And I want a quick trip to Disney too. Well, maybe I want a 10 day trip. That is my favorite amount of days for the Perfect Pixie-Dusted Vacation!!

Just Just two days and ten hours before the journey begins!

:hourglass

Wheeeeee -- here we go again.:dance3: I just can't help but keep throwing my hat in the ring. I've been at it since launch year, and still have never managed to break free of round 1. BUT -- I just can't stand NOT trying, ya know?

Anyway -- glad to be with you all for the ride once again. :grouphug:Wishing all you fabulous Disney lovers the best!
