Magical Oct 4, 2014 Southern Caribbean

Has anyone called yet to get details in the Halloween festivities for the late September and October cruise dates?

It was news to me - I had no idea they decorated for Halloween, had parties, etc.

Will folks be bringing costumes?

No need to call - lots of info available online about the details if you do a search. Many will be bringing costumes - we are also planning to but we will have to see if it fits in the luggage. :cool1:

I checked into it and apparently, Halloween won't start on the Magic until late October. All the other boats will be decorated for Halloween starting in late September.

This is from their site:

Halloween on All Disney Ships
The crew is scaring up surprises on the following sailings:

•Disney Magic itinerary departing October 27, 2013
•Disney Wonder itineraries departing September 28 to October 26, 2013
•Disney Fantasy itineraries departing September 21 to October 26, 2013
•Disney Dream itineraries—featuring the extra-special Halloween on the High Seas experience—departing September 22 to October 31, 2013 (excludes itinerary departing September 29, 2013)

Link? Here is mine:

It says Sept 27th through Oct 26th sailings on the Magic.

Last I checked this isn't 2013 - I think that is the confusion! ;)

In 2013, the Magic was still in dry dock for refurb in September-mid October, which is why it got slightly later dates.

I am planning to bring a costume of some sort, I think--given there is enough luggage space.

The ship WILL be decorated for Halloween. I've read that some people are upset about this (???) but the decorations aren't over the top and can be easily avoided or ignored. Personally, I'm looking forward to seeing them.
So far, we aren't bringing costumes but will be wearing Halloween shirts.

I would be one of those people, at least for one aspect.

The Halloween Tree in the atrium.

The rest is passing and much like characters and other aspects of a DCL voyage, only as much a part of your sailing as you wish. This isn't the case with that tree.

We are happy about it as well! We like Halloween (except the gore aspect which Disney doesn't really do, whew) and are really excited to see the decorations! :lovestruc

I might feel differently if it were my first cruise though, so I do understand how people might feel upset.

Sorry about that. Didn't even notice the year. :confused3

I tried posting the link, but it wouldn't let me because I haven't posted enough. Thanks for the correction. I was a little bummed that it wouldn't be halloween for us :cool1:

I saw the blurb on the DCL website but was wondering if there was any info yet as to what night(s) different things were happening.

I'm one of those people too. I'm not a fan of Halloween in general and I do hope the decorations and activities aren't completely Halloween oriented. Still looking forward to the cruise of course and celebrating an anniversary on board.

From what I have read, they are not.

Hi. I am finishing up my FE gifts and noticed that there are 4 staterooms/families that are listed on all 3 'Teams'. Is this an accident or why are they listed 3 times? I am giving FE gifts to all FE folks from all
'Teams' so I am hoping that it isn't a mistake somehow.
Thanks!

They are the families like you that chose to participate in all three groups - this way those of us in just one know to return their favor! ;)

Ah...I guess no one put us down on all the teams even though I will be giving FE gifts to all participating staterooms. oh well...not a big deal.

Actually, there are 5 families on all 3 Teams. They are all in Red. In order for your name to show up on all 3, you would've needed to let the organizer know you wanted to be in all 3 groups. As it stands, the first 2 Teams are now closed

Honestly I hope Olaf closes soon too... I want to make ours already but my OCD necessitates a firm headcount first! :lmao:
