Yep....this is how my day is going....

G man's last day of Kindergarten is today....I'm not sure how it went by so fast...I guess time waits on no one :hourglass, but it can slow any time it wants.:)

Congrats to G man!!
It's good you recognize this time pattern you speak of now and not later! I am now the proud father of an eleven year old who wears size 9 women's shoes and is 5'4" She no longer fits on my lap and she can nearly outrun me. Don't get me started on the other "changes" she is going through. I am NOT ready for all this! :hourglass Stupid Time.

Mine just started daycare last week, I'm so not ready for any of these milestones!!!!!!!!!! :hourglass

I hear you... We're finishing up our first year of kindergarten this year with DD as well... Can't believe it...

I can remember that day, time sure flies. Now DS is about to finish grade 7 and is taller than me.

Congrats to the G man!

Tell me about it. My oldest just turned 14 on Sunday and is picking he classes for high school. And my youngest is getting ready for 2nd grade. Seems like yesterday they were in diapers.

Good on him! Just made me realize that Audrey will complete Senior Kindergarten in June. Yikes.

Thank you kind sir, congrats to you as well, DD's school doesn't have graduation (principle believes K is the beginning of their education not the end) or so I was told but it is kind of sad, DDs first year went by so quick! If there is such a thing, I believe DD had the perfect teacher for her and really helped her along, very proud of DD!

We tried to warn you about the time warp but did you listen? Congrats guys and don't blink.

:rotfl:

Sorry ‘bout that guys. You just tickled me a might.
First off… congrats to all of you and your young’ens for the milestones.
And second…

:lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2:

Sorry again…
Let me catch my breath and try to keep a straight face here…

:lmao: :lmao: :lmao: :rotfl2: :rotfl2:

Wait, wait… I can do this, I know I can.
Deep breath… OK, now then

You think time is moving quickly now?

Well…

Bwahahahahaaahaaaaa!!!!!!!!

And let me add one Word: Teenager.

Oh and learning to drive, dating, broken hearts, college...

Did I mention dating?

I have a son, dating is the problem of the Dad's with daughters. ;) :lmao:

OK.... real vacation-type question to ask here....

Have any of you used Firefly Car Rental at MCO? If so, what are your thoughts?

I know they are the sibling company of Hertz, but I've read a lot of bad reviews of the place (older cars breaking down, charging for gas when they brought the cars back full, etc). Thing is, I just made a reservation that is about $10 cheaper than the Thrifty reservation I made weeks ago. I've used Thrifty with no prob before... just wondering if saving $10 is worth the risk.

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2: Hey wait..... :sad:

Yah… that is a harsh truth there. But…
At least y’all do bet to brandish various pieces of weaponry in front of said prospective suitors and give them fatherly guided tours of your sound insulated work sheds with their extensive collections of medieval implements and high torque power tools. Not to mention the opportunity impart such bits of sobering prophecy upon them as: “Every tear she sheds… is a one of your bones I’ll break.”

So at least you do have that going for you.
Which is nice.

You’re ahead of me on that point; haven’t gotten there just yet. Should be interesting though. My dad laughs right hysterically at both of his sons whenever we commence to talking about raisin ’ young’ens. A piece of me is looking forward to knowing that verity of laughter as well.

I can see it… offering advice and collected wisdom to a younger man who will be completely unable and predictably unwilling to learn from or even consider its validity… then just watching the inevitable catastrophe unfold…
Ahhhh, that will be entertaining to be sure.

I agree, my almost 16 year old is dating a guy that graduated from High School last year! She is my step daughter and I told my wife before we got married that I would stay out of it (my wife had step-dad issues growing up), but I can't help but feel protective. I do not look forward to my 4-year old daughter reaching this age, but I am not worried about my son. Boys are easier!

Hi all just checking in from the Poly. DW and I left the kids at home and are celebrating our anniversary. Hope all is well. Have to run the volcano pool is calling.

Dating is something my DD was told she can do when I am dead or senile. Until then, not so much, though SWMBO thinks I am being unreasonable. IF I end up losing that battle, I will simply point out to any potential suitors...a) I have access to almost 15000 acres in rural Appalachia and heavy equipment b) I am old and getting older and don't plan on living forever and c) prisons have good medical care for the elderly.

DS has no interest in dating. He just wants a cat and to be left alone.

Election day in KY so no official alcohol sales today, though by the way they are trucking them in from the hollars, I would say there has been some vote selling going on.

Holy smokes. It's a DIS Dad ghost appearance! Hey Chill! Got to ride Old Bandaid yet?? And Happy Anniversary!!

Welcome back stranger and Happy Anniversary to you and your better half!

That was my first thought! :thumbsup2

All I know is that the father of the kid that dates my daughter sleeps with one eye open. Be afraid of dads like me. The kid knows if he makes my little girl cry, he will pay and his family will pay. Rest easy Don, you got this.

I bow in awe of the master. If I have grandkids, my only job will be to take them to Disney. Let the parents worry about the other stuff.

Being protective is natural. All she needs to know is you are there if she needs you. And there is nothing wrong with taking the kid aside to have a friendly chat.

I use Thrifty a lot but haven't rented at MCO. i would spring for the $10. Even if you don't rent often, sign up for their loyalty program and make them aware of it before you pick up the car. Again, I don't know about MCO but other places as a member, I just pull into their lot and pick out a car. Paperwork is already done and it is an easy process.

I think any kid that dates your daughter may have to be doubly careful, doesn't she carry a shiv? :lmao: ;)

Thanks, CJ :thumbsup2 Fear is a good motivator

I am leaning towards Thrifty anyway. I like being able to just walk up to the car I want and drive away. Plus, I can get Southwest points through their rentals. Still would be good to hear any personal experiences with Firefly. Thanks for the advice!

.

There is always the drop weapon tactic. Don't worry, they don't put old people in prisons - just nursing homes.

So you hope. I fear my girls will think and worse, act like me.

The end game is for them to be self-sufficiently out of the house. Unfortunately,it's a part of life.

Happy Anniversary. Have a great trip.

That is a nice age difference. Mine are only 2.5 years apart.

How's it going guys trying to get over the post disney blues and I fell way behind. I'm headed to Shaw AFB tomorrow for a few days. Should be interesting. Thank you for all the kind words about the dis meet.
DW and I do the same thing we like to go back to the resort for a little down time. And to get out of the heat of the day.

Only way to get over the Disney Blues is to plan another trip.

I'm going through all of the pictures we took as well as memory maker. We have over 1300 photos. And I'm working on a trip report. I'm up to 2k words and that's just through the travel and arrival. Going to be a long report with tons of photos.

That is a lot of pictures.

Better still… just when is it a bad time to drink?

Sorry again…
