ITS COMING -Nov. 2014 Free Dining - waiting, watching, wishing & worrying thread

I saw that FD was not available for Jersey week and have not been here since. A little sad, yes, but the trip is already paid for and I was only counting on FD as a happy bonus. I start making my dining ressies tomorrow morning!!

IF BY ANY CHANCE YOU HEAR OR KNOW THAT Nov 2 - Nov 7 somehow qualifies I'd love to hear it.

Have a fun trip! If you can swing it, can one person fly down the day before and check in on 11/1? That's what we did in 2012 - the kids and I flew down on the last day FD was offered so we could check in, and husband flew down the next day.

I just have to vent a little here :O

My brother and sister in-law decided to join our family vacation so we are switching from AOA lion king (me, the hubby, and two baby boys and my parents) . We decided that the Caribbean beach would be the best value for us after discussing the topic to death never been there so we are all pretty pumped!

Ok so I called around 5pm to switch our reservations. Waited about 40min on hold (was 90min when i called fri @ 7am so no biggy there). My CM told me that there was no openings and after freaking out a bit I decided to talk to the family and see what they wanted to do. We opened up more dates we could go and I called back. On hold 45min this time and had a amazing CM who worked for 45min to get the dining code to work for CBR. Some glitch in the system she said? Apparently others were having the same problem and the supervisors needed to fix it. Anyway we verified the dates were open and just as we were about to change it she hung up on me - hopefully on accident If you are keeping track that is now 2 hours and 30min on the phone. Lets get that third call rolling - 45min hold again and this CM had no problem getting dates and FD working for our ressie. Great! But then as we are about to put the $200 deposit down guess what happens..... CALL FAILED! AH! I am now on my fourth call and 11 min in on hold. No I am not angry at all, still excited about disney, but getting less perky with every call.

I really wanted to get through before GP offer goes tomorrow. Arg.

Thats my story. Sorry If I bored you all but seriously I needed to vent! Thanks for listening. Heres to hoping and praying this call goes smoothly and it is the last one I need to make!

I can't believe your dates were booked up already at CBR. Makes me wonder about availability to general public. I wonder if they will open up more rooms?
Regarding your phone issues.. I had a similar experience. Luckily, my sister was also going with us and she was calling to schedule her room with her disney visa and after holding for 2 hrs and 50 mins, she was able to make both of our reservations. I love Disney... But they need done improvements with the phone system. We are staying at CBR for the first time as well, and hoping we won't be disappointed. I hope things work out for you

so I decided not to wait for the phone lines (which only give me the busy signal) and went online to book the fd offer. I have three reservations i'm working with.
the fd offer showed for the first one and I keyed it in, no problems. booked! now when I go back to do the other two the offer no longer shows. anyone else no longer seeing the offer?

What link did you use? The special offers always gives me "server busy".

I used the link at the bottom that says explore our special offers. I did get server busy once but I just clicked home real quick and started over and then it worked fine the second time.

The only way to get to them online is through the special offers link. Unfortunately, with so many people trying to get the promo, the servers are very congested so if you continue to get an error, the only thing you can do is keep trying since you are unable to call due to being international. I did peek at the days you mentioned earlier of 11\15-11\24 and it does still show rooms avail for those dates with the free dining promo in all resort categories. They are going like crazy though. Wish I could help you more.

Yes. Park admission is required for all in-park ADRs.

Confirmed, my problem was an IP issue...Booked my package using an USA IP.

Yea, this is a bit insane on how quickly FD is selling out. Certainly keeps me on my toes, lol. I wasn't able to get through last night, call dropped (even though I had great reception! ah!) after calling hours and wasn't able to get back on the phone line since it was closed. Trying again today.... Thanks for replying! It soothed my wounds to know someone read about my tragedy

okay so I just read they are offering free dining during my say. The down side is that most places were already booked (all moderate) and pop. We ended up going with All Star Music but would have preferred to say in pop or AoA. Was going to upgrade to POR and that was not happening either. Anyone else have luck booking at their resort of choice?

I don't think the resorts are booked solid. The free dining offer is sold out. It seems to have been very limited this year. I looked up a few resorts for nov 9-16 and they still had rooms available to book in most categories at regular price but not with the free dining offer.
