I called Disney last night to switch my resort to CSR and they said the only thing available with my bounce back was a water view room. It's almost $300 more. Wondering if it was worth it though. I'm going till sept. So I'm not sure if I should just keep trying to see if a standard room opens up. I'm supposed to be staying at CBR bc they were rumored to get queen sizes beds. Now I'm getting nervous because what if it I doesn't happen. My mother would be so upset because my nephew is in her room and she has to share a bed with him. She doesn't want to sleep that close to a 12 yrs old. Lol poor mom.

I would want the queen bed, too! Especially with a kid.

Just so you know, a water view can potentially mean looking at the corner of a swimming pool!

As far as the water view room goes, we got that once. We were actually put in one of the nicest rooms. We had a view of the quiet pool, then just beyond that (across the sidewalk and "beach/hammock" area was the lake. It was a great spot!! (Cabanas 9A). We loved it. Close to The Dig Site, the main building, the quiet pool, and the laundry!!

CSR is a beautiful resort - anywhere you stay! And the queen beds are wonderful and comfy. Also the wooden doors that separate the room from the bathroom area are wonderful for privacy. Especially with teens!! Whether the $300 is "worth it" for you, is up to you.

$300 for water view not worth it to me.
$300 for queen beds is definitely worth it to me.

The CBR refurb is supposed to be just starting so there will probably be new rooms available by September, however, they deny they are doing a refurb, so it would be a big gamble. Some on the CBR site think they are starting with preferred rooms. Sleep is pretty important when on a busy Disney vacation so I would go for the sure thing.

So I just called Disney back and spoke to a different CM. This one offered me a standard room and didn't even mention a water view room. It was only $39 more per room to switch resorts. So I will be staying at CSR now. I feel bad for CBR because this will be the second year that I booked with CBR and switched to a different resort. Last yr I switched to POR. I'm just happy that I will be getting queen beds. Plus my husband is 6'9" so a bigger bed helps him. I was undecided between CSR and CBR in the beginning but the CM with bounce back convinced me to book CBR.

Don't feel bad! I look forward to trying CBR once they get queen beds. You'll get there one day too!

Has anyone stayed at CSR and stayed in the building that has the lounge? How much more a night is this perk, as I assume it is all included in room price? Is this just in the Cabanas 9B? I online checked in and requested Cabanas, but I am wondering if it is worth it to upgrade to business class and get access to the lounge :earboy2:

$50 per night.

We are renting a car and staying at CSR for 10 days in May. I have a 10 year old. What building is best to be closest to parking and the Dig site? Is there such a thing?

Also, I just tried to call CSR to put in a request, and they told me that they only take requests a week before the trip. How is it then that I keep reading about people who have put requests in months ahead of time?

They probably did it when booking there resort, however call back and ask a different CM, the answer you get depends on the CM you ask :confused3
They do not assign you a room until about 2-3 before you get there and it can still change when you get there. Also if they won't add it, when you arrive they will tell you where your room is. If it is not what you want ask them if there is another room available that is more to your preferences. You may have to wait until later in the day to get in the room, but if you are ok with that and they have it available they will accommodate you.

Hi everyone! Joining in here as I've decided CSR is our next resort!

I have a ten night stay booked at POR in September, but will likely call and switch it to CSR if/when FD is released.

My question is: are business class rooms generally included in the free dining promotion?

Thanks in advance!

We have stayed in Cabanas 9B 3 times. Love the Coconino Cove lounge and we feel it is totally the worth the extra price. Love the continental breakfast and love the evening snacks which include beer, wine and sangria. Cabanas 9B is the closest to El Centro and not far from the main pool and very close to the quiet pool. Only guests staying in 9B have access to this lounge.

You can find pics of the food offerings in Coconino Cove on the first page of this thread.

There are no towels at the quiet pools. You have to bring some from your room.

We will be there in a month and a bit and can't wait to try the Coconino Cove access, especially in the AM. I booked BC for our family as well as my parents so I'm hoping we are around at least a bit to make use of it.

Apologies if this was answered before, I think I asked but can't find it!

The marshmallow toasting on the fire/s'mores thing - are the marshmallows provided? Do we need to pay? Where is it and what time?
If I could have some details that would really help as we can't decide between doing this (chilling at and getting to know our resort) and heading to the Poly beach for Wishes (I wanted to do this, but now Captain Cooks is shut I'm not sure we can get Dole Whips!)

We wont be getting there until the evening so it needs to be non-park stuff and relaxing enough to recover from a long flight from the UK. But also not boring - we're at Disney after all!

My husband likes the idea of staying at the resort. My children want to watch Wishes. I'm torn!

I'd like to know about this too... We arrive late-ish (I am guessing 6:30/6:45) and plan on eating at the Maya at 7:30... We need to have a good night sleep, which may be tricky still being on west coast time... So might need something after dinner to do other than wander aimlessly lol

I don't even think we will eat! We weren't hungry at all last time, too much travel and plane food I think.

Oh hubby is like a bobcat if he doesn't have protein on a regular basis... So we are definitely eating as soon as we get checked in... Too much plane food? You fly first class? Lol. I can not survive on chex mix and soda ;)
