Disney's ALL-STAR SPORTS RESORT Information & Questions

Anyone know if the condiment stand in the food court has little packets of peanut butter? Im running the half marathon early in the morning so I would like to purchase a bagel and some peanut butter the night before to bring with me for the race...

you might check with the bakery window. they now keep the packets of cream cheese behind the counter where they sell the bagels. They also sell slices of bread by there so PB might be kept behind the counter.

No, the value resorts don't have peanut butter packets. :sad1: They do have packets of jam.

I pack a jar of peanut butter to have PB and jam (stock up on those packets) on bagels for in-room breakfast.

Thanks for the tips! If I can find a small enough container I might just pack my own to be safe... :goodvibes

Check your local stores PB aisle. Most sell small to go packs of pb. Supertarget even has single packets of nut butters.

I travel often with this:

http://www.bellplantation.com/products/2-pack-pb2-2-pack-chocolate-pb2.html

It is somewhat lower in protein, as it is mostly fat free (the powder is the after product of them making peanut oil so it's lost most of it fat content) but it is super easy and all it takes is a little water to reconstitute.

Thanks for the great tip! :thumbsup2

anyone there now or there recently that can let me know whether they have the new 2014 refillable mugs in stock? Im not really a fan of the new ones and would love the old style mug - this year we're on the DDP so i'll actually get one to bring home with me :thumbsup2

Still old design at Sports, at least through today. Will keep watching.

Port Orleans Riverside is the only report of new mugs. Good news is that it doesn't matter where you pick up your mugs. They are good at ANY resort refill station (that is a change from the past). So you can pick up a mug at POR, get it scanned, and use it at your home resort.

Someone on the Mug Sticky thread has already done it.

Still old design with green/purple lids at Sports. In the parks one sees people who have the new mugs.

Lobby is also having some work done so you can't walk from the check-in area to the food court. They must have known I was coming because it was the same setup when I was here in 2008. :-)

Which part would you request in order to be close to buses? And where are the preferred rooms located?

I'm changing our September reservations from Pop Century to All Star Sports. I was a little nervous after reading some bad reviews over at allears. After reading this thread, I am feeling much better about my decision. Thanks y'all!!

Question...we are going with a group of friends and will have 19 kids all ages between the 4 families (7 are mine!). What kind of daily activities does All Star Sports have for the kids? Thanks!

Surf's up is all preferred. The Touchdown buildings are very close also.

They have daily games and activities by the pool in the afternoon every day. And there is an outdoor movie played by the pool every night.

I requested the Touchdown section and my room was in building 10. From that building there is a handy shortcut to the buses where you go around in the other way and not through Stadium Hall. But, Touchdown is also really convenient for when you do need to visit the main hall. I liked it.

We never stay preferred, but always include in our request "closest to bus stop/main bldg". We had a GREAT room in Touch Down that was closer to the food court than most of the preferred rooms.
Some of the Touch Down are much further away.
All that to say, put what you want in your requests, rather than trying to request a building, because you might get the building you want, but not the location you want.

I love to read about the ins and outs of the resorts...going to this one in APril...with our son and dil and our two youngest grandkids..8 and 9....they have been to Port Orleans French quarter before and also Pop Century...I think they will love the themed areas in this one..

When in April are you going? All Star Cheerleading Worlds takes place the last full weekend in April and the AS Sports will be packed with cheerleaders arriving during the week and most staying through at least Monday. The following weekend May 3-4 is All Star Cheerleading Summit.
While both competitions take place at ESPN World, the event resort packages are set for AS Sports.

How busy is it here in June and July with student groups?
