***Official November 2013 - Part II*** (that's right....we're that popular!)

The PS4 is coming out and it's taking all I have not to buy it.

Same here. I still haven't gotten through all the games we wave for PS3 so i really have no reason to buy the PS4, except for the fact that I want it anyway ;)

I'll be good though, after all I did just buy the Vitamix so I need to resist anymore big purchases. We are having fun blending all our fruits and veggies though, and the kids are willingly drinking down spinach.

I have a 50's Primetime Cafe reservation at 1:40 on 11/18 for 7 people if anyone is interested.

Ha! Love the tech talk. I have a Samsung smartphone, iPad, MacBook Air, Wii, and desktop computer at home. The desktop is a giant dust collector since we have wifi in the house! Also have a GPS, Spot, video camera, and two digital cameras to play with. Thank goodness a 'rugged' digital camera was invented for outdoors! The other camera is the Samsung Galaxy - a smartphone with no talk capabilities. The thing is amazing!

Oh, and to stick with the thread subject... 14 days, 4 hours, and 35 minutes until our plane takes off!

I came into the industry via a back door but I've worked on the VAX. DH actually hosted a bulletin board on his Atari 800 in high school. His Dad was in I.T. So they had a dedicated phone modem line for his work. of course only one person could call in at a time. And after college DH and I used to hang out in mainframe hosted chat rooms. I met one of my dearest friends that way. She was in our wedding and people were always amazed that we met online because this was all pre-Internet.

We still have the Atari and all it's peripherals. :-) We did just get rid of the PS3 but that's because we have the Xbox and WIIU and the new Xbox is coming for Christmas. But I'm pretty old school when it comes to gaming; I'll take the PC over the console any day. Though the voice features have some serious potential.

Yay Ken Olsen and Digital Equipment corporation! Dad worked there 30 years and me 10. We both had our names on Printed Circuit boards. ;)
Things started switching over to PC land as I decided that Mommyhood was more appealing. My last years were Systems management, email management and software testing......... 22 years out and I'm lost with most technology now. I should have stayed in the game better. Oh well. Mommyhood has me quite busy.

How many November people have got their yellow luggage tags for magical express? We check in 3 weeks from tomorrow! Yay! We have magic bands and our other packet of Mickey Mail but no DME yet. Can't remember what the timeline is on those. I am a little nervous about it just because we received tags when we originally booked POR and I called to add DME directly. The packet came right after I called them. We changed to AoA and added my sister. Just wondered how long to wait until I should call and check.

My luggage tags (Mickey mail), Magic express (Minus my husbands tag so they are resending) and Magic bands are here with 29 days to go!

Very cool. You guys were so lucky that his dad was in IT and you had a dedicated phone line. My parents were not tech people at all. That was the funny part about meeting some of my bio family, turns out they were all a bunch of engineers.

I'm so jealous that you still have your Atari, my parents gave mine away when I went to college along with my first computer, an Apple IIC. My second computer that was cutting edge at the time had a 20M hard drive and ran at 12 Mhz :rotfl: I still miss DOS

PC gaming is definitely better than console gaming for most things. I could play AOE and Dungeon Keeper forever, but my newer computers can't run Dungeon Keeper anymore. I have a bunch of old dead computers around that I need to scavenge for parts in order to create one older system that can handle the older games that I still like to play. I like the ease of the PS3 though, especially when I share it with the kids. I also love how easy it is to stream everything through, it makes a great entertainment hub for the family room. I won't bother replacing it until it dies.

DS19 is in college for "Interactive game design and programming"....aka video game and computer gaming design and programming.

I would call today. We are 26 days out and we got ours on Tuesday I believe - after the Mickey Mail but before the Magic Bands arrived.

I agree. I would call in case it's going to take a week to get it to you and in case they make a mistake like with ours. You want to make sure everyone in your party has a yellow tag AND their name is on the boarding passes.

I'm shaking so hard I can barely type. I made it to round 2 for Mom's Panel. I was totally prepared for a No. I'm in shock.

ammag - did you get your email?

Just had to mention that I worked at DEC in the 90s while my DH was at Harvard Law.

Glad everyone is having things fall into place for their trips! :thumbsup2

I still need to order PP+ and our MVMCP tickets. We hope to go to the 11/11 party but are waiting as long as we can so we can see what the weather will be like. We did the Friday party last yr and it wasn't too bad. If it looks like Fri will be better, we'll just go with that (but would prefer the 11th b/c I think it will be the best use of our day b/c we won't have to use up a PH ticket to go to MK :))

Does anyone else think I should switch our IllumiNations FP+ to something else? Is a FP necessary?

OOOH! Congrats!! My friend tried for it last yr and made it to the 2nd round but no further. I hope you do better than she did!!! :cheer2:

Checking into Poly 11/2. First time staying there. Recommendations for what we should make sure we see/do at Poly???

Tonga Toast. Torch lighting ceremony. Electrical Boat Parade. There's a site with all sorts of Poly-related info Tikkiman or something like that. Google it or I can post a link later.

We'll miss you by one day. We'll be at the Poly on Nov 1 to watch the Boat Parade and the last Hallowishes.

I have a LTT reservation at 6:50 on a night of MVMCP that we don't have tickets for. We are going to the party another night. We have every intention of heading out right away but thinking the parade will be just starting. Will it be hard to get through? And last year at the Halloween party we attended, we were asked every 10 steps to show our bands. Which was annoying but I really appreciate they take such effort to make sure those who didn't pay aren't staying. Will that happen at the Christmas party as we are on our way out? Partially kidding, I feel like I should make a sign saying "we are leaving!" :)

If your ADR is on the 17th.... maybe we will be escorted out together. Our ADR is for 6:40.

You will most likely be escorted out by a CM after you finish your dinner.

Maybe the CM will take us out a back way that doesn't interfere with the people lining up to watch the parade.

Nope I'll be at Hollywood and Vine for lunch with Imagineer so I won't be hungry at that time. LOL

Yay! :cheer2::cheer2::cheer2: I'm not surprised! I hope you make it all the way!

Just had to mention that I worked at DEC in the 90s while my DH was at Harvard Law.

I was there from 1983 to 1992 when my son was born. So technically 9 years.
Great company to work for! You were big deal around here if you worked there. But as I said technology got very different as I was leaving.
DH was working on his degree at Framingham State.....he sortof took over where I left off in the career world. Although he is way smarter than I am with technology. I have other talents. :)

Just wanted to share that I will be doing a live trip report while I am down in Disney the beginning of November. I plan to write in the mornings if I wake up before the rest of the family. I am posting my trip report over in the camping board since we do Disney RV style. :goodvibes

Magic bands came but I'm too tired to figure out how to post the picture.
:sad2:

I'm not finding my PINK band uncomfortable at all. Then again I don't have it tight (two fingers under it) and I find it pretty light weight.

Oh My Goosh! UPS here again!!!!
My Disney store order just arrived.

Wahooo!:cheer2::cool1:pixiedust:

We arrive on 11/3 (staying at AKL) but I think we'll try to pop over to Poly to see the Electric Water Pagaent at 9pm- maybe we'll see you. I agree, Tonga Toast is amazing, and you can also get Dole Whips (pineapple soft serve) at the Poly now- yum!

WOO HOO! Fun mail day for YOU! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

I called yesterday, we are 25 days out staying on DVC points and she told me they mail them out 10 days prior to your trip, got me a little nervous, hope they arrive on time!

Oh I'm soooo excited!!!!
I bought a Disney World 2013 cinch/back pack and I love it!! It's perfect for what I wanted in the parks. I thought it would be an iron on on some plan canvas but it's nicer than that and the 2013 is embroidered! Love Love Love it!!!
And I forgot I ordered a small Minnie and Mickey. They are super cute. I'm going to make her a little veil and him a bow tie to wear. Sneaking it in the suitcases to put on the bed at the resort. silly fun!

DHs Goddaughter was 5 years old yesterday. They went to Disney in September. We got her a Tinkerbell jewelry box and an Aladdin play set. I hope she likes them.

Ok I wish I didn't have a meeting tonight! Or I would be getting the suitcases loaded for sure.

Wish I could figure out how to load a picture to show you all of this.

Yey- I'll try to follow along or at least I'll read when we get back. Love the Cars eyes- too cute! There's some down time during our trip that I want to check out different resorts so we'll look for your RV when we visit Ft. Wilderness. We have pretty much the same days, but Fri. 11/7 is the only one that matches up. I'll be on the lookout for ya'll!

We have requested and hoping to be in loop 1100 so look for us there. Asked for my parents to be in cabin loop 2100 so we will be near them :goodvibes
