If you will be in Epcot, try the Land--Sunshine Seasons (I think?). They have rotisserie chicken that was really nice!

Dimndgal1, thanks for the tips! I'm not afraid to ask for an item to be left off my plate, or to substitute this for that, so I will be *that girl* at restaurants. My concern about speaking with a CM about making me a special meal is that a) i don't eat GF baked goods (buns, breads, etc), and 2) with 2 young daughters, I'm simply not willing to wait the 45 minutes or so that I've heard off for a chef/cook to make me something.

I know that deluxe resorts aren't know for their QS options, but I'm in love with everything I've seen and read about BC...and the location is to die for!!! Can't wait for our vacation!!!

I second the recommendation for Sunshine Seasons- they have a grill station with the above mentioned rotisserie chicken and a grilled pork chop my son loves, along with sides of vegetables.

There is also a salad station. I am wild about the roasted beet and goat cheese salad- I am not positive, but if you leave off the goat cheese and cracker that comes with it, this option may be GF and dairyfree.

Just back from my conference at WDW. I stayed at the AKL in a standard room, but they upgraded me to savannah view. I really enjoyed the hotel, and it was cool to look at the animals. If I were to choose between the AKL and the BC/YC, it would definitely be the BC. My thoughts:

I had a real blast visiting by myself. I really went super commando at the parks. I used my very best touring plan advice that I've gotten from the DIS and EasyWDW and I managed to do a ton in the short time I was able to spend in the parks. I'm SO glad I upgraded my ticket to an annual pass when I was there last month. I had no idea I'd be back so soon. The pass has paid for itself already.

Thank you for the fantastic review and comparison! May I add a link to your review in the trip report section? We have some BC/YC vs WL comparisons and some BC/YC vs. BWI comparisons but I don't think any AKL yet.

These are extremely helpful for people who may have stayed at one of the other resorts and want an idea of what to expect.

I have Garden View at BC booked for January, couldn't get the 35% off rate for Standard or Garden View at YC, which I was hoping for to get a full balcony. I am wondering what room request to make? I searched for a hotel floorplan/numbered rooms layout, I know I've seen it before, but could only find that for the Villas. Does anyone have a link? What should I make for a room request...just a balcony? Floor level high for a better view? Corner room? Near Epcot to use that sneaky back way out of BC since we will be spending most walking time in that direction for WS food, food, and more food? I don't want to make too many requests. Any advice from the experts here is appreciated!

:welcome:

I'll add you to the Be Our Guest list.

:woohoo:

Room requests are different depending on what is important to you.

My main request is for "Full balcony, please"

Hello Y&
BC friends! Having a blast here!

Checked into YC yesterday morning and got a great CL room overlooking back entrance. Stopped at Hurricane Hanna's for my first Sunken Treasure...yummy! On to Food & Wine for some sampling. Saw Sugar Ray last night and Edwin McCain tonight...what a blast! The weather has been gorgeous the last two days...The CMs are loving the 'cool front' haha. Today we sadly left the YC (but made sure to go back for a little break for drinks and appys) and checked into the Swan. We are in a boardwalk view balcony room...very nice! We just love the Epcot resorts area.

Tomorrow we have dinner at Biergarten with our friend from the YC. Magic Bands working well so far.

Beach Club Club Level Review from last month!

I finally have found the time to give you guys my review of the Beach Club CL from our 6 night stay last month. We stayed the last week in September and it was our first stay at the BC and in Epcot Resort area in general. I have to admit I didn't know what to expect and was kind of nervous. However once we stepped into that resort I knew I had fallen in love. We were escorted by a very friendly gentleman that escorted us to the 5th floor where we were both offered wine/beer at check in! Allison checked us in and then showed us to our room, which was a standard view, which IMO was not bad at all!

Thanks again for this thread and hope you enjoy my review!

Loved your review and O-M-G what a view!!!

Any night pictures?

May I link your review to the trip report and/or other sections on Page 1?

If possible, could you add your room info to the view thread I have posted above. If you could just copy and paste what you have above, that would be awesome!

Thanks!

:goodvibes

Dee Looks like I am jumping ship... again... and not doing a split stay that would include staying at the YC..

So please take my name off the Be Our Guest list... we will be getting to try out the BC/YC eventually...:goodvibes

I am really excited to say that I just booked our third stay at the YC tonight. Dee, could you please add my family to your list? We will be staying in a garden view club level room from June 21-June 28. Thank you for all that you do to make this thread run so smoothly. It truly is a site that I can come to and relax, laugh, and dream about trips to come.

:welcome: back!

:cool1:

I will happily add you to the BOG list.

Thanks for the kind words. It is very gratifying to be a part where people can comfortably ask question and so many are willing to share their experiences to help others have the best trip possible!

Quick question on cl - if we have 5, but intend to do 2 rooms, can we put all 5 of us on a cl room reservation, then 1 or two of us in a separate non-club room? In other words, at least 1 of us (or 2) would have simultaneous reservations in a club and non-club room. I assume the answer would be same for any cl resort. Thanks!

Interesting question. I am not sure about the answer, but I do think there is a per person charge (maybe $25 per night) if you have more than 2 adults to a room, so you if you do it this way there could be a $50 charge per night added to your room cost.

Anyone know if that is correct?

Awesome picture Sue! As for room requests I just put down "Some where near Orlando" and I ALWAYS get my room request. Pbbbtttt..... But seriously, I just phoned in my room requests today. For Pop I put ground floor near transportation and for CBR I put ground floor near bridge. having done that I am certain that I shall be placed in East Japip in the middle of an alligator infested lake. That's why I NEVER do advanced check in! At the desk I whip out my printed at home copy of the resort map (Reader's Digest large print edition, not that tiny half paged thing that only owls can see!) and when they tell me that my room is no where near where I had Requested I KINDLY ask them to see if they can get me closer. If they give me that sad face and say they can't help me I bring in THE BIG GUNS and whip out my Tupperware container of home made, enough chocolate chips to put ya in a Diabetic Coma, chocolate chip cookies and let the aroma waft in the resort CM's general direction. I tell them I have zip lock bags and I'd be more than happy to stuff one full of cookies if I can get my way. After a few furtive looks to see if a manager is around they tappy tap on the computer and Wa LAA! The Orange County Sheriff is summoned to escort me off of property. The moral of this tall tale is not to do on line check in when you have room requests. THAT way you can make changes on the fly a lot easier if you should find yourself in a situation where the requests are not matching up with what you have been assigned. Yeah sure, that My Disney experience is TEMPTING you to do advanced check in but DON'T DO IT IF YOU HAVE ROOM REQUESTS THAT ARE IMPORTANT! Step away from the computer and talk face to face with your CM at the resort. They really want to be able to help you so ask nicely and see what they can do. ~NM

Thanks NM!
I had to chime in. We ALWAYS do online check in - Both with regular rooms and my parents DVC. I have never once had a problem getting my requests met. This trip I requested close to lobby and lagoon vs pool view ( we booked LV) and a full balcony. I put them on my reservation and only added the close to lobby at online check in. Got them all plus a day bed. I have requested specific buildings on the res before and checked in online and got them. I seem to be the distinct minority here but it works for us. And with MB testing, within seconds of Modifying online check in, I got the prompt to customize MBs and pick FP+! Win win!! May have been just luck but I will take it!!

Yesterday new cast rates came out into February, so......... I got the Beach Club club level with dinning for Feb. 5-12 for Jim and I. We were originally at the WL, but I could not pass up the 60%!!!!:cool1::cool1: We will be celebrating our 42nd anniversary. I know construction might be going on, but I don't care. Unfortunately no additional discount for my December trip, but that is OK. Just had to share.

If I am understanding the plan correctly, then you would have one or two people listed as occupying two rooms simultaneously. You would have to check to see if Disney allows that.

There is an extra charge per night for more than two adults in a deluxe room, which is $25 per person and would be an additional $75 per day.

Phew!!!

I think I am all caught up.

Please take a moment to check the Be Our Guest list to see if I have your information listed correctly.

Thanks!

Post 15: Be Our Guest list

.

Thanks Dee!

And thanks for the info about the GV CL rooms. Now, if it doesn't have a daybed, is the room a bit smaller or does it just have some extra floor space?

We are a family of four so don't need the daybed. We had one at YC and used it to drape our clothes on. :upsidedow

Okay, I guess I will just call disney. It would only be 50/day I think, b/c 1 of the guests is a child, but that 50/day would be less than the difference to make that second room also club level. And to put it another way that not sound so devious, we always get a second room on the family vacations so dw and I can have alone time- we generally pcik one of the rooms to congregate during day and evening, and the second room is jst a getaway

Just called disney- the cm on phone said (pretty confidently) that each person can only be listed as an occupant of one room, even if he (ie, me) is paying for both rooms with his credit card. I may try to call again, but I do generally recall someone else once posting similarly on an old dis thread.

So, you could book an additional room for two "friends" who don't join you. You've paid your money so surely they can't complain.

Also as a reminder, you can only book SV CL with five people in a CL room so if view is important to you that would be an issue.

Thank you for the fantastic review and comparison! May I add a link to your review in the trip report section? We have some BC/YC vs WL comparisons and some BC/YC vs. BWI comparisons but I don't think any AKL yet.

Sure! Feel free. I loved those comparisons too. It really helped me a lot.

Just coming back to the thread, been swamped with work/his works & kids:thumbsup2

Only 15 days to go!!! A have a couple questions if anyone knows.

1 - I have BOG FP+ ressies for 10/28 but we also plan on meeting friends on 11/1 there. It will let me change my ressie but not make a new one. Anyone know how to make a 2nd BOG ressie for FP+?

2 - anyone know a good grocery delivery co? Not ordering much but we are doing the carless thing this trip.

3 - We have 2 rooms & 3 kids. I want the oldest to have a key to both rooms. He has a MB but will they also give us room key?

TIA!! Now to go catch up.

Are you renting a stroller at all? Kingdom Strollers also does grocery delivery. If you rent a stroller with them, the delivery fee for the groceries is waived.
I have also ordered with Garden Grocer (I think that's the name) and they were great.

I've been reading about Wegoshop.com. I figure its no good for us as we are from the UK and have no idea what brands I want, but if you know what it is you want from say Walmart, then it would be okay.

That sounds great happy anniversary a little early :cool1: I just got back last Sunday after a week a the Beach Club and was up in the Stone Harbor Club level , while I was waiting for mouse keeping to finish I was listening to a conversation a couple of CMs were having and the subject happened to be about the renovations . One of them was saying that final plans have not been approved and that would push the renovations out to at least the May , June time frame so I am pretty sure you will not have to worry about the pounding of hammers during you celebration :thumbsup2. Also the more I think about it if the final plans have not been approve that would also mean the nothing has been ordered yet and that will take time to make the furniture , bedding and bath fixtures and a lot of it . ENJOY :beach:
