I would keep coral reef. Cape May and Coral reef (though both seafood) are 2 totally different places. Coral Reef offers a good steak or chicken too! :thumbsup2

I dont want to set at the fish tank. yes its neat being so close BUT if you sit in the 2nd or 3rd row, you still see the fish tank BUT you get a better view because you see all the fish tank. My dd was 2 went we went before and she LOVED it! We sat on the 3rd level and it was fine..still enjoyed it:)

I would do a DHS lunch at Sci-Fi on the 9th... She may love sci-fi and I am sure they can accomidate the gluten allergy. My friend has one so I was researching places for her

We loved Coral Reef!!! What about a departure breakfast at Ohana?? Depepnding on what you plan to do on your departure day. We always do DTD but this year doing MK

Or Rain Forest Cafe on your AK day for dinner either at AK or DTD...just some ideas!
You do have the major character meals covered but Iif it was me, Id def add in either Sci-fi or Ohana

oh no i have an ohana somewher but i cant remember where lol

daughter has veto'd sci fi and rainforest lol

so for a first time visit do you think its to much..not enough?

I feel so out of the loop. I had no idea there was a new little Mermaid ride. i really need to get on it and see what rides we plan on going on. Our son will be almost 2 so I need to check and see what he can ride and what he can't.

Where can I find ride closures? I have taken a break from planning and I see I have missed a lot.

Well, I'm a newbie to the Nov traveler. I was Oct until this afternoon when I realized the week I'm going Disney's resorts are almost booked solid. Only a few value rooms and 2 room villas. No way on this side of sanity can I go with that... so, I changed it to Nov 10-17. I'm hoping it's a little quieter. :hyper: Please tell me it's going to be better now that I added 3 weeks to my countdown. :rotfl:

:welcome: It must be hard to add to your countdown! But I think you'll find the week you chose to be a good one.:goodvibes

Hi everyone! Just found this thread! :)

We are going Nov. 3 - 18! Staying the 3rd - 11th at OKW and then the 11th - 18th at Poly.

Not that I was wishing away the summer....but we are getting pretty excited that our trip is only 86 days away now!! Yipppeeeee!!! :yay::yay:

:welcome: If you want to wish your summer away, you'll have to stand in line on this thread!:lmao:

going 11/12-11/16, staying at AofA Lion King (first time on-site). haven't told the kids yet!!!

:welcome: Oh wow! Your kids are going to flip out!! You'll earn LOTS of points for that one!!:love1:

HI!!!

Can you add me to the list??

We are taking our 1st family trip to WDW for our sons 2nd birthday!:bday:

We will be at WDW from November 26-29th.

I am so excited!!!!!:flower1:

- We are hoping that the military ticket promo is extended past September 30th so we can take advantage of the deal.

:welcome: Sending pixie dust for the discount to come through for you.pixiedust:

Feeling better hearing about soft openings. Only thing I really want to try is the little Mermaid ride. Might make up for the fact we'll miss test track.

I'm still debating our one ADR at Coral Reef. We'll have one for lunch on 11/15. But we have dinner the night before at Cap May and with a party of 5 I understand we can't sit next to the fish tank which is what the kids want. I really would love to put in Le Cellier there but no luck so far. So do i leave it as is or leave one ADR open?

DH and I sat at an semi-circle banquette that faced the aquarium last time and there was a family of 5 in the one next to us. Perfect views!:thumbsup2 You can request that section when you check in.

The Little Mermaid attraction will have its grand opening on December 6th along with Enchanted Tales with Belle, Gaston's Tavern and Be Our Guest restaurant. There will be what they are calling "previews" of these attractions beginning November 19. They will begin taking ADRs for BOG sometime later this month. That's all we know. :goodvibes

So I just changed our reservation. From CBR to POFQ. I hope I made a good move. Now I am second guessing myself. I really want POR, but nothing available. I just like the fact of the boat to DTD, and that it has queen size bed. It's a tight squeeze in a full size. I'm almost 6' tall. Oh and the price stayed the same :)

We LOVE POFQ!!! It is our second favorite to AKL. You will be very happy you changed. :goodvibes

Ive read mixed reviews on CBR, but it's rough to have an opinion when you have never stayed any where on property. Between the boat and the beds being bigger it seems to be a better choice, but then this little voice says NNNOOO...lol.

POFQ really is fantasitc! We've stayed there twice and would definitely do it again!! The resort is smaller, so less walking. Only 1 bus stop, but then they go to POR. The good thing is that you always get a seat. :thumbsup2 It is just beautiful!!! The boat to DTD is wonderful, and you can even rent a boat and drive it up the river. That is one of my boys favorite Disney memories! That and the Pirate Cruise leaving from POR. I've never been impressed with CBR. The property is huge, so you could have some long walks to the pool, food... Another plus at POFQ is that you can use both pools - POR and POFQ.

Should I request a certain building or does it matter?? If POR comes available should I try for that or stay at POFQ.

We don't like to stay near the smoking areas, but anywhere away from that is great! We've been back at the farthest point near the river and the walk was still short. We've never stayed at POR, and never wanted to. It's another big resort. There is a beautiful path down by the river that you can use to walk to the POR pool. You pass some really pretty parts of the POR on the way, but we've never stayed there. We tried the FQ once and fell in love!!! We even liked it more than Saratoga Springs (a deluxe)!!!

Oh wow. We have been thinking about buying DVC at Saratoga Springs. I grew up on the Mississippi river, so im excited to be near the water. Renting boats sounds like it will be fun, and another great experience for our exchange student.

My DS just walked into the room and said "Wow! I haven't seen you on that website it a long time!" Guess it has been a long time...

I've been REALLY sick since our last trip almost 2 years ago. I've had 4 surgeries in that time (13 total)!!!! I am BEYOND happy to be planning this trip! I cry every time I think about walking down Main Street toward the Castle. I CAN'T WAIT!!!!

Monday is my first day back at work after my most recent surgery. Wish me luck! I'm glad I can do some Disney Dreaming to get me thru. :lovestruc

Congrats. It's hard when everything gets out of whack. I had my knee replaced at 13, and several surgeries through the years. You have to have something to look forward to :) good luck at work. I know I would be giddy to go back I miss working, but it's better for me to stay home with the DD. I hope you have a splendid day on Monday! It will be a few days closer to vacation also :)

I'm hoping to stay at POFQ next year and renting a boat would really be fun for my boys. We're staying at AoA this November and the kids are already saying they want to stay at the same resort next year but I would love to try POFQ. The rooms look beautiful too.

Good Luck on going back to work! I'm glad you're feeling better! And planning a Disney trip is the best way to get through.

I wish I was giddy to go back! I'm bummed... I've loved being home with my boys.

POFQ is just as pretty in person!!! :flower3: We went back and forth on it and AKL, but DH loves the lodge too much. :goodvibes

Thanks! I'm feeling much better!!! Still LOTS of pain, but I can take it. I'm just happy that I'm finally on the road to recovery. The doc says it will take about a year, but each day is better. By November I'll (hopefully) be able to swim and ride most of the rides. :woohoo: But, I'm planning to use my surgery as an excuse to aviod Tower of Terror and RnR!!!!! Hehe...

OH... and if you do rent that boat, make sure your boys don't reinact the scene from POTC where Jack runs from side to side... My boys did! I thought they were going to flip the boat!!!!!

You made a great move! FQ is our favorite resort! We've also stayed at POR and prefer FQ. Nothing wrong with Riverside, just our preference. I think because Riverside is so spread out. We had quite a hike to get to the food court and concierge. I always request building 5, but in truth, they all are good. And most of the time when we are there we don't even share a bus with Riverside. I think you'll be glad you switched!:goodvibes

Planning our trip now!

November 11-18 at AKL :yay:

Is there a thread for ADR's somewhere?

:welcome: :wave:I don't think we have an ADR thread. Everyone changes them so much, it would be such a headache to keep up with it all!:rotfl:

Oh, wow! So sorry you've had such a difficult time! :sad1: But glad you are getting back to the happiest place on earth!:rainbow: Good luck at work Monday! Be sure and come back often so we can help feed your excitement!;) As you may have noticed, we're about to go to our 4th thread, so we do like to chat.:chat::rolleyes1
