OLD THREAD: 2012 Beach and Yacht FAQ, Part 2- May, June and July DON'T POST HERE!

I have been looking at my movie source, and they haven't updated yet. I also have someone who may be able to provide me with a schedule.

In the meantime, if anyone who is staying club level has a moment to contact IPO to see if they would send a schedule to you by email, you could forward it to my email: beachclubdee@yahoo.com

Got it! Emailing it to you now! :)

So far, this is what I have been able to find out:

It sounds like the closing will happen towards the end of the month, not next week. Not sure of the exact date, but I think the last week in August, when guest attendance starts to slow down.

The inital plan is to offer packaged sandwiches to go near or in the arcade, hotdogs, drinks and other treats near Beaches and Cream and a Pool Bar with drinks sold at Poolside Gifts. I think there will be wait service at the pool.

Hope this info helps and I will post additional info as I get it.

PLEASE HOLD OFF UNTIL AFTER THE 21ST!

Pretty please.....

Sounds like this may be an issue for my Sept 15th trip :( I am hoping for a perfect stay at YC so DH lets me keep our resies for Oct as well!

Have you stayed at Portofino Bay before? We stayed for 4 nights last summer. I have lots of pictures of the room and resort in my Welcome Foolish Muggles trip report (link in my signature, chapter links in the report)

Thank you so much for the links. Last summer I could not find any resort wear and I was bummed. Love the BC mug and I know that YC has a glass but I'd love a coffee mug (will purchase the BC mug if need be).

We have not stayed at Portofino Bay before. We have stayed at RPR several times and loved it but need more space. I am on my way over to your TR. Thank you for the information! :thumbsup2

Have you seen the movie Benny and Joon. They make grilled cheese on the ironing board with and iron. They even discuss which setting to use to get the perfect sandwich :lmao:

LOVED that movie!

Thanks Dee!

Fingers crossed that it is closer to the end of our stay! We arrive on the 22nd and leave on the 28th!!

I'm sure the hotels will come up with something to handle that situation. In the mean time here is the fake line up for the BC/YC thread resolution to this matter:

Erica (wearing a Dirndl!) will be selling Grey Goose Slushies in her collection of designer, blast from the past, Disney refillable mugs.

KJay will be poolside near an outlet with an iron plugged into it sizzling grilled cheeses.

I will be running back and forth from the Boardwalk bakery and possibly the Boulangerie Patisserie with treats for those that possess a sweet fang.

The revenue generated from these businesses should more than cover our bail for the health code violations we will surely be charged with!

Does anyone have a food truck they can park by the slide to complete our menu? I'm thinking Gyros and heros because they will need to be "To Go" for that trip down the slide.

:rotfl2: I have a friend that has a taco food truck. I can "borrow" it and park it by the slide. Might get a little messy but we do what we have to do without HH

:lmao: I also have a bag of the refillable mugs that I just cant bring myself to throw away. Add those to the collection of Royal Caribbean Coca Cola cups and I could probably serve everyone at SAB!

My kids will be happy with ironed grilled cheese and I will just have to bring a case of Corona Light and some limes for DH.

No food truck, but since I am driving I could spend the day before we leave baking. Everywhere I go people expect me to bring homemade cookies for some reason. White chocolate chip macadamia nut seem to be the fan favs, with milk chocolate chip and oatmeal raisin the runner ups ;)

We will be there the last week of August, so the closing of HH is disappointing to me! I love their salad, and the kids love their meals with the pail/shovel ;(. I guess it could be worse...I would CRY if Cape May Cafe was closed during our stay...it is our favorite breakfast in WDW, we eat there twice a trip!

When we were in Jamaica a few years back, there was a sign on a trampoline in the water that said "Weight Limit: 350 lbs." My son was concerned that I was too large to go on.

Love how our kids never stop boosting our self-esteem!

:rotfl::rotfl: gotta love them!!!

Teena will be providing me with photos of her grandaughter's first visit to the World and the Yacht & Beach Club. I'll be posting them here, but I'm also thinking of going "Live" with the report, so that all the pictures and commentaries will be in one place for Teena, Jeanne and Lily.

I'll let you know if/when I get that set up.

Here are the first pictures:

I never thought I'd be one of those people upset/complaining about a refurb...until I read about Hurricane Hannahs! The ability to get a grilled cheese sandwich for my very-picky/eats-next–to-nothing daughter was a huge factor for us. :guilty: Looking at menus on AllEars, I don’t see anyplace else around that offers a grilled cheese sandwich. Does anyone know of any??

I am a big grilled cheese fan, too. I was at WDW in May, and stopped for lunch at the Captain's Grill. I asked for a grilled cheese, and they were very nice about making it for me, even though it's not on the menu. I hope this give you another possible option next door at YC. :thumbsup2

Thank you so much!!!

Did you send it? I haven't received it yet.

Dee

Ok, so funny, but Omar sent me one super quick right when I emailed, but when I downloaded the file and opened it he accidentally sent me the wrong document! :lmao: I'm sure he'll see the error first thing tomorrow morning and resend! :thumbsup2

We were "Family of the Day" two weeks ago (my gosh, I can't believe it's been two weeks already!). We were the first ones on the pool deck, we were able to pick our out chairs and they put a special cover on it to designate FOTD, we received plenty of bath towels to use (not pool towels, but the fluffier ones) and the kids were the first ones down the slide. Being picked was one of the highlights of our trip! :)

Teena, enjoy every second with. Princess Lily! She is a doll!

Ok, you freaked me out a little! We are also BC CL GV with the same exact dates!! LOL! Then, I go on to read about your DL trip! We also did HOJO and then a Carlsbad hotel. Small world!

Race you to the BC ...

we're flying in off the beaten-path ... Tampa (it's so much easier!!, ssshhhhh!!, and about the same time to WDW if you rent a car), a little before 9:30 am and take the last flight out of the same on the 22nd!!

We had very tight vacation dates --- the reason we start on the 15th is because that was the start date of the 'new' discount code - we basically had less than a 2 week window to travel between the end of college research projects, Kenny Chesney concert tickets, the start of 2-a-days for HS sports, back-to-school work schedules for retail clothing employees, and college jr year move-in date!!

So, I'm sure we'll be running across each other in the CL ...

if the swedish fish container is empty - it's my dh and girls -- while I have left the 5th floor with an armful of diet cokes to be consumed before I can get my hands on the grey goose slushies I have learned about here ...
