All I Want For Christmas Is an Okapi, a Dinosaur, a Herd of Elephants and ...

I love breakfast food, and Disney breakfast food is just the BEST!

If only Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge weren't so far from Boston...I would absolutely love to make that meet!

Topic of discussion for today's walk:

How many of you could make it to a DIS meet in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge on June 22, 2013?

We are making semi-plans for this next year, and it looks like several DISers may be able to make it. We are contemplating not doing a Disney World summer trip, but possibly doing a few days at Vero and then doing a couple of days at Dollywood. If we do this, it will free up some money to take a nice December 2013 trip. I think if I get all of this set up in my mind well beforehand and know that we will still have a wonderful vacation even if it is not actually WDW, I will be fine with it when summer arrives.

Anyway, everyone look at your calendars and see if you can be there. The more the merrier, of course! It would be a great time to meet a lot of fellow Disney-crazy friends!

For fun I decided to google how long of a drive it would be to Pigeon Forge (I know I was there as a child!). As it turns out it's as simple as hitting the 1-75 south! And only 11 hours! It could definitely be a possibility! As I think I will probably have to go without a Disney trip next year and make some more contributions to my RSP instead....sometimes I hate being a grown-up!:( But I would say, pencil me in! :thumbsup2

I hope Jill is able to relax a little bit with being so busy! And I hope Sophie is a happy and healthy little one, whenever she decides to arrive!:goodvibes

Also, I now have an immense craving for breakfast food!

I looked at Gaitlinburg...17 hrs drive. I'm not ruling it out completely because I can drive that far in a day. (same time to Myrtle Beach)
If I can find cheap flights, I may consider it.
I could combine a beach trip with it, hmmm something to ponder. I havn't been to Myrtle Beach in a while.
If not you can count on me seeing you next Christmas!!! :cool1:

We could car pool! :thumbsup2

It looks like I am having breakfast for dinner. :) yummy!

We more than likely wont be able to meet at Dollywood even though we do have family in Tenn that we visit. DH's Bday is the 25th and we tend to spend it at the beach with his family.:beach: Please post pics! Maybe we will meet again someday :wave2:

I think this is a record for me getting smilies in!

Sophie princess: and my new niece Beatrice princess: are both due right around the same time! Cant wait!

Disney breakfasts always make my usual toast and yogurt breakfast at home look all the more boring!!! I need to at least cut my toast into a Mickey shape or something! :rotfl:

Thanks for breakfast this morning! It was delicious! :goodvibes

I would be up for a meet in Gatlinburg/Pigeon Forge!

We would love for you and Pat to come! I hope it all works out. :cool1:

And you are welcome for breakfast. ;)

Ooh, breakfast in bed! You are too kind Memom! I can't remember the last time someone served me breakfast in bed. Some Mickey waffles, bacon, and fruit look lovely!

I think the Mop clan could definitely be there in June. Weave nothing planned for that part of the month and it is about a 5 hour drive for us. Totally doable. Off to put the date on my calendar now!

I hope there aren't crumbs all in your bed tonight. ::yes::

Yay for the Mop clan coming! :woohoo:

I love the breakfast pics! Too bad I can't just go get some right now. It is fun to imagine though. :goodvibes

Well I'm kinda in need of some Disney mojo to get me on my way to work this morning.
I was up early and took my DMom and Lexi to the airport.
They are off to my Gramma's for 2 weeks. (I will miss them terribly )
Well maybe not that much...more like :sad1:
I know they will have a great time.
They have a long layover today so they are going to visit the zoo to pass the time.
It was the only flight available on short notice and there aren't many flights that even go that far up north.
My Gramma is 94 and she has had a few heath issues lately and my DMom just wants to go see how she is.
My Gramma has been very fortunate and has been very healthy up til now.
She even still drives. :)

We all can sympathize with Jill. She should take some time for herself.
Oh, I bet she is excited getting things ready for Sophie.
And back to school shopping is fun too!

Thanks for the pick me up Memom.
I guess I need to drag my bones off to work and make some money.

I think Vero sounds lovely! You would have a blast!

I know you will miss them, but it is kind of nice having the house to yourself occasionally. And they will have a wonderful time together, too. :goodvibes

I looked at the Vero website, and it does look lovely. We have talked for the past two years of driving over to the Atlantic Coast.

Hope your Gramma is doing well. We would love to show you Tennessee, if you can come. We may all follow you to Myrtle Beach, too. ;)

What a great breakfast Memom.

I can certainly understand Jill's busyness. I don't have a quarter of that on my plate and have not had time to start mine.

Gaitlinburg? Sure sounds doable

You and Jillyb could carpool, maybe?

Did you have the steak and eggs, the pancakes, the fruit...???

What a lovely breakfast! Much better than my cereal and canned grapefruit.

Your summer plans for next year sounds great. I would love to see Dollywood but that time is right near both girls birthdays. Disney in December 2013 sounds even better. Right now I want to go as soon as school gets out May 2013, but Michelle is pushing for the time between Christmas and New Years 2013.

Well, maybe we will see you December of next year, then! :wave2:

YUM!! Thanks for breakfast!

On the 12th, we'll be arriving (we're in MK on Sat am). Sadie might get out of school at noon on Friday; then we'd be in Orlando about 3. Otherwise we'll be there around 7:30; if that's the case, we can always meet you at POP or anywhere for dessert or a snack!

We will talk closer to time and work that out. Too bad we'll miss Amy that night, but maybe you guys can work something out for one of the other days.

Bummer... I don't think the 12th will work for us. We are planning to go to the Food & Wine 3D Dessert Party that night... which I'm very excited about because it's something I wouldn't do with the family. As of now, our plans look like this;
Wed 10/10: Arrival, some F&W at Epcot then over to MK until closing
Thurs 10/11: AK & MNSSHP
Fri 10/12: Lazy morning & Epcot (including the 3D party)
Sat 10/13: DHS & Epcot & checking out Jellyrolls
Sun 10/14: MK, then go home.

Keep me posted on your plans & if you see any times that overlap!

And thanks for the yummy breakfast pictures! I'm glad I didn't see them this morning... I was eating dry cheerios in the car for breakfast today. I'd much rather be eating any of the options your shared. :goodvibes

We will hook up before the 12th, then, for a hello and maybe a ride or show. I'm not sure what our MNSSHP night is.

Well, if I wasn't hungry before...

Thanks for breakfast!

You are welcome. :thumbsup2

Yum, yum, yum. There is something about breakfast food while in Disney. It just tastes better.

::yes::

I love breakfast food, and Disney breakfast food is just the BEST!

Yes, you would have quite a drive. Maybe we can come north one of these years!

I might be able too. My inlaws live is Seymour Tn. It well all depond on if my dh well be out of town.

If he is out of town that is a good thing or not a good thing? Come on over and play! :cool1:

The supposed to be a grown up in me is finally saying we can't do a usual summer trip and a Christmas trip, but it took a lot to say that. I hope we can still do the other stuff, though.

I think Jill has really worked a lot on Sophie's bed, so hopefully she is happy with what she got done in these few days.

That would be a really, really long trip for you! Of course, driving up to Vero wouldn't be too long. :scratchin

Disney breakfasts always make my usual toast and yogurt breakfast at home look all the more boring!!! I need to at least cut my toast into a Mickey shape or something!

Mickey-shaped food is always tastier, even at home. :)

Now that would be good.....a Myrtle Beach Dismeet!!!!:thumbsup2 I only live about an 1 1/2 hours from there!!!

Being a grown up is tough sometimes!! We don't always get to do what we want!!!;)

I think Jill has really worked a lot on Sophie's bed, so hopefully she is happy with what she got done in these few days.

I saw a pic on FB and the crib skirt looks good!

Mickey-shaped food is always tastier, even at home. :)

Mickey food is always good!! I don't usually get much at home though!! Sometimes we get Mickey chicken nuggets form Costco!!!:rotfl2:

I'm not sure if I could make the Dollywood meet. You've still got the two trips planned (Oct and March) I think you can make it til Dec. Sometimes it's good to try other places. My guys are getting tired of Disney!!!!:crazy2:  So we are doing some other stuff too. We are going on a cruise on the Allure in Aug (less than an month!!:woohoo:), hopefully Disney in Dec, Med cruise next Aug and if I'm lucky Disney Dec. 2013!!!!!

all caught up. Love your reports and all the pics. The best part it was a 2 for 1 special. :rotfl2:

Can't wait for the next one to start. I hope in October we see each other.

Mmmmm, loved the breakfast!!! I could go for a Mickey waffle about now!

If we add on days to our October trip we will be arriving on the 12th, I'll let you know if it happens-I'd love to meet up so you can meet an awake Henry! ;-)

We are entertaining the idea of a Christmas trip in 2013 as well. Will you be doing New Years again?

Yeah, we'll make it. We're just very much happier when we can make three trips a year. ;) We're only doing two this year - the summer one and an October one. In no way am I getting tired of Disney World, but I know Brooklynn would really like going to Sea World, and we have this opportunity to go to Vero, so we have some non-Disney and not too expensive options. :thumbsup2

What dates are you thinking about for December 2013?

Always good to have you visit, Scott. :)

Are you there on the night of the 12th? We're going to try to meet up with Katie that evening before her castle meal. Would that work for you, maybe?

The first time we met Henry, he was asleep, but don't forget, we did meet him when he was awake!

Yes, we'll probably do Christmas to a day or two after NY, just depending on how that falls. I have to look at a calendar. We have gotten good flight prices on Christmas Day, and it's a fun time to fly in. We have a very low-key and simple Christmas morning, and then head out. It makes it nice for Jill because Santa doesn't have to buy a lot, and they don't need a lot. :santa:

I'm pretty sure I can make it to TN that weekend! I should be off work! :cool1:

Pencil in the date, then! If anyone knows of some good places to stay up there, I'm up for ideas, and I will ask around here, as well.

You know how I have talked about doing a Disney Water Features collage for a few years now? Well, how 'bout we look at water in Disney World this morning? :goodvibes They are not all water fountains, and in some the water is not the main feature really, but it may just have a subtle role in the scene. There aren't a lot. I was just scrolling through some albums and came across these. Hope you enjoy the sights and sounds of Disney water this morning.

Raise your hand if you could picture yourself at any of those places. What were you feeling, hearing, smelling, seeing?
Did it make you smile? :)
I hope so. Have a good day, dear friends!

Pencil in the date, then! If anyone knows of some good places to stay up there, I'm up for ideas, and I will ask around here, as well.

My parents always stay at The Clarion right in downtonw GTB. I've only ever stayed at chalets up in the mountains, since I have always gone with bigger groups.

Love all the water photos! Made for a very magical morning! I'll have to get a photo of the water "feature" outside my window right now for you. We are 150 yards from the edge of Lake Huron.

I think it would be a good possibility that we could be there. A lot would depend on when youth camps are next year. If they stay on a similar schedule as this year, we should be able to come. :)

Love the breakfast and the water pictures. I think the fountains in EPCOT are some of my favorites (especially when my girls are standing in front of them).

Great bkfst and water pics! There are so many unique water features to e seen. I am sad we will miss you guys=we arrive on the 13th....
