Your gonna think Im nuts...Disney Smell alert..UPDATE! NEW SMELL ALERT!

P.S. was anybody in Epcot yesterday (7/7)? Mouse Gears smelled like something had crawled inside a vent and died. Everybody was walking around like they didn't smell it. I though I was going crazy.

I haven't read the entire thread yet, but I'm pretty sure this one won't be on there lol. Back a few years ago I was at a fellow Disney freak's house just hanging out when all of a sudden she shouts, "OH!! I have something you to have to SMELL! Close your eyes!" As you can imagine, my interest was piqued. I felt a small tremor of fear go through me as she returned to the room with something behind her back.

I shut my eyes as requested and she put something under my nose. "Sniff!" I was told, so I did. This was not a bad smell, and it was very familiar, but I couldn't place it. She gave me hints. Disney World, EPCOT, ride. It smelled kinda smoky, but I still couldn't place it. She put it back behind her back as I opened my eyes. I was baffled. Truly! :confused3

She told me to close my eyes again and think of the scene in SE where Rome is burning. I did so and YES! It smelled like that very scene! I opened my eyes in wonder and what did I behold in her hand?? A RUBBER MALLET FROM TARGET! Like the ones you find in the tool department! Don't believe me? Go sniff one for yourself! You may look a bit nutty in the store but believe me it honest to goodness smells like DISNEY! :thumbsup2

lol that's too funny! Well maybe it was cheaper then my SE Rome smell.

First post said to go to Lush store (I have one in Mohegan Sun Casino in CT) and buy a shampoo soap bar scent names "Soak and Float". The lady went and grabbed me one and held it up to my nose... I about fell backwards... what a strong bust of Disney!

My first thought was "WOW I HAVE TO HAVE THIS!" my second thought was "who the heck would want their hair to smell like burning Rome?" :crazy2:

Anyways... so to bring the mood to my room I have the bar sitting behind a fan just gushing the smell all over. LOVE IT! :goodvibes

OMGosh that's awesome! :D Yeah it was pretty cheap, but so random lol. I had no idea WHAT she was going to make me smell!! :scared:

I have a new smell to add, one from my last trip. Disney has planted some kind of bush or something near the monorail stops and around AK that smell like bell peppers. I kid you not. BELL PEPPERS. So now all I have to do is go to my fridge to get a whiff of Disney! :thumbsup2

Btw, love the bouncy ghost! Big HM fan myself as you can see lol. ;)

Whenever I smell oranges I think "ahhhh, Horizons!" Never "ahhh, Soarin'!" My mom (who died 9 years ago) used to always talk about how cool the orange smell was at Horions, and when I rode Soarin' for the first time, I didn't know about the scents. That darned orange smell made me cry. :(

Fun thread! Never really thought about it before. Going to have to attend to scents a little better.

We are always saying things smell like Disney

My dad who is down there right now texted me yesterday with a picture inside Mouse Gears and the words "smells funny in here". So he noticed at least. :rotfl: Maybe it was just all the sweaty people in there.

Threads like these make me happy that I am not the only crazy person! I am always saying how I want to smell Splash Mountain or Pirates at random times. The water in the midwest just doesn't smell like that!!! :rotfl:

The other day we brought our luggage out so I could pack for our upcoming trip, when I unzipped the duffel bag--BOOM! It smelled like our room at the Wilderness Lodge from 2010. I literally crawled into the bag and inhaled while DH thought I should be committed.

I love smelling a smell and it remind me of disney! It happens a lot to me!!
Now disney are releasing air fresheners that smell of Disney Park stuff!!!

For those who love the smell of Rome burning, lapsang souchong tea smells exactly like it. (For those who wondered why you'd want your hair to smell like that, imagine drinking something that smelled like that!) And to bring this full circle, that tea is usually available at the tea shop in the UK pavilion.

Mousegears always smells foul, like sewage. I've thought this for years now...since it opened. In fact, even the walkway through the building toward Mission Space smells that way.

My daughter recently discovered Eggo Chocolate Chip Waffles. What we discovered together is that when they're cooking/when you open the toaster oven door it smells like the Crystal Palace breakfast with Pooh and Friends. We love Crystal Palace and the smell brings back memories every time.:)

Yes! I was trying to figure out what the smell was at the monorail station. I thought it was like a celery/cucumber-y smell.

Some places in Epcot (my memory is horrible, but not Living with the Land) smell like lettuce to me.

The lobby at the Fort Wilderness Lodge kinda smelled barf-y to me. I think it was whatever they treat the water with. Ick.

Aside from Burning Rome smell on SE there is a scent right when you're walking up the ramp to go inside. My mom says it smells like an old camera. I think it smells like crayon wrapper paper. Weird I know.:goodvibes

Sorry if I repeated anything that's been said before, kinda new around here :D

Definitely bell peppers right?? I was in line for the monorail at the TTC to head to MK and was like, "Is someone eating bell peppers??" And then I smelled it later too at AK! My sis works at Yak ad Yeti and agrees that there is SOME kind of plant that smells like them lol.

I can totally get bell peppers. It's a very vegetable-y smelling are over there

the Poly:
Captain Cook's always smells like burnt grilled cheese. I like their food but the smell? Woof.

Of course it also has the "70's smell" in there. I can't quite describe than other. Not a bad smell but quite an interesting one. Musky/musty water smell.

I didn't notice a smell at Saratoga Springs...hmmm...

The last time we were staying at Pop they were trimming the bushes and they smelled like....dog poop!! It was so bad, we were looking around to see who had the dog. We also smelled the same scent/same bushes at another resort but I can't remember which. I was at Target the other day and I noticed the scent and looked up and the bushes were being trimmed....ahhh the dog poop scent of Disney:rotfl:

Also my son was playing with an empty shampoo container in the tub awhile back and smelled the inside of the bottle after it had been in the bath tub toys for a week or so and said "Mommy, it smells like Yo-Ho Yo-Ho!!", which is what he calls POTC. Sure enough, the bottle was the same musty smell that you smell on the ride!!

Not GREAT smells that remind you of your Disney trips.... But there you go!!:thumbsup2:confused3
