A question for all of you Dole Whip fans.. have you ever had an orange cream slushie from Sonic? If so, is it like that? I keep thinking it has to be the same thing.. and let me just throw out there, I just luuuuuuuuuuuvvvv me some orange cream slush from Sonic! LOL

An orange dolewhip float is orange icecream with pineapple juice. It's REALLY good.

There was a thread on the Theme Parks board. But that was back when everyone was discussing when test track would officially close. So maybe things have changed. I would love for it to be up and running before we get there. As it is, it is due to open on friday of our trip and we leave on sunday.

That is so awesome!!! I can't imagine how nerve racking it is to get ADR's for a group that large. Speaking of that, can you tell me why for my 50's Primetime ressie that it says we may be seated at more than one table. We're only 3 people, well more like 2 1/2, I don't get it, do they just have 2 top tables?

We had 5 people last time and I got the same message. They put us at one table and pulled an extra chair on the end. It was a very crowded restaurant.

I have a question that I really do need help with...... How are ya'll handling your AK day with your meals? Right now I have us eating breakfast and lunch at Tusker House. The reason I did it is honestly can't decide between the 2 meals there. We have eaten lunch there and loved it. And the breakfast time would get us in the park early. Supper is back at the WL at the Whispering Canyon Cafe. (This is also a possible BOG ADR time)
What would ya'll do? Just so ya'll know right now I only have us scheduled for AK one day. But with the way things are moving today that could change.

Well, if you've had lunch TH, I say try breakfast. #1 - It's GOOD! Jamba juice...Mmmm and #2 you will love AK early in the morning before the park opens! It was such a nice walk to Tusker House. DH got some amazing pictures.

So are we going to need a Thread, Part III? LOL

And probably a Part IV! We are a talkative group!

Re: Test Track ---- I asked about this on the main board and was told repeatedly to just give up the pipe dream of thinking it would be open even in the month of December.

I know I'll miss it b/c we're early in Nov but on the touring plans website it has the opening date as Nov. 30. Does anyone know how reliable that info is?

Ooh — lots of cool stuff happening in this thread! No wonder it's so long-running!

First, I've got our ADRs done, at least for now!
I'm desperately hoping there's FD, because we did DDP on our first trip last year, which was a gift trip, and we loved the sitdown breaks for meals and all the great food, so I want to do it again this time — but now I have to pay for it! So, any help we can get is needed. (Called last week to check for PINs, but no dice...) That said, I'm planning as if there's FD so we can afford to upgrade.
Here's what I have for ADRs:
11/2 — Chef Mickey's,*Liberty Tree Tavern, Narcoosee's (MNSSHP)
11/3 —*Boma,*Yak & Yeti,*Fulton's Crab House
11/4 —*Tusker House (breakfast),*Flying Fish Cafe
11/5 —*Cape May Cafe,*F&W for lunch, Le Cellier (my birthday dinner )
11/6 —*Captain's Grille (breakfast),*Cape May Cafe
11/7 —*Hollywood & Vine,*Mama Melrose's,*Hollywood Brown Derby
11/8 — Boma (breakfast),*Les Chefs de France
11/9 —*Crystal Palace (breakfast),*California Grill (MVMCP)
11/10 —*1900 Park Fare (breakfast)

Liberty Tree Tavern, Tusker House, Le Cellier, Captain's Grille and Chefs de France are new to us from last trip, which was DS's first and my fourth. I'm really intrigued by BoG. From what I've seen, I'd love to do dinner there, but that will depend on the menu and how pescetarian-friendly it is. If it looks good, I'll probably swap out either Cape May Cafe or Chefs de France, or if I'm certain we can get there early enough on arrival day, we'll do it then, since we have one TS credit left with this plan. Otherwise, I was actually looking forward to eating at AoA. (So excited! )
The only thing I'm looking to change at this point is Le Cellier, if we can get an ADR earlier than 8:45...

As far as shoes go, I love my Clark's sandals, and they're super-comfortable. But I have to admit that I ended up with terrible blisters on our trip last spring, walking 7+ miles per day. So this time I'm going to be prepared with blister pads, anti-friction stick and moleskin pads. And I'm going to work up gradually to walking that much by November.

as for the reopening of Test Track, I think your best bet is going to be waiting until October and then keep checking...that's still quite a long time for things to change--and that gives you time to change your touring plan if you get to add it back in.
I am in the same boat with the FL expansion!! I know the 7 Dwarfs thing won't be open until 2014, but I want the other stuff that's going on to be ready for us in Mid Nov!!! I am trying to remind myself not to even look any of it up so I won't be driving myself crazy until then.

One thing that helps me is giving each of your days their own sheet of paper. It just helps me to visualize things better. (Yes, I still do things on paper. Then move to the graphs or spread sheets. )

I agree! Each day needs it's own sheet. And I tend to write them out several times, too!

Soooo what day/date is everyone doing the CLP and where are you eating? Im re-arranging(not changing ADR's) to try to listen to NPH if I cant get a package

Never had an orange cream slushie from Sonic, but can I just say a pineapple Dole Whip float is HEAVENLY!

We're having an early dinner (4:45, AK closes at 5 the day we're there). It will be our first time at Yak and Yeti and we are very excited to try it. If I were you, I'd do Tusker House breakfast. I would LOVE to do that, but it's gotta be Yak and Yeti dinner for us this time.

I think this thread is FABULOUS because we all give each other so many great ideas and our vacations will be so much the better because of them!

Okay, so another left field question.. how many of you are Vegas peeps? I went for the first time the other week and I kid you not when I say I never walked that much with ALL of my Disney trips combined! (okay, slight exaggeration! LOL) I don't think Disney, EPCOT even, has anything on Las Vegas! That place is HUGE and you just never ever stop walking!!

In any case, I bring this up so that I can say that I would NEVER EVER have survived that trip had it not been for the Nike Celsos I'd found through this very board. They are flip flops, so nothing sexy happenin' here, but I cannot express to you ENOUGH the life saver they are to your feet. I bought a second pair JUST for my upcoming Disney Trip.

I still can't get over that I found these little answers to my every walking prayer at Kohl's, on sale, for all of $14.99! LOL They deserve to cost 10 times that!!

So I went out on my DH's boss's boat for a few minutes and guess what, his boss talked him into a cruise sooooo Jan 2014 we are cruising to Cozumel, Beliz, Mahogany Bay and Costa Maya!!!!! !!!!!!!!!!!!!!! so no Disney for a few years... I still will try to sneak a trip in though. We are still going this Nov cant give that up!
