Unless a FedEx guy shows up in the next few hours it looks like I won't be a winner :sad1: After so many dissers were winning early on I actually thought I had a chance :rotfl: We leave tomorrow morning to go skiing in Colorado  so this afternoon is our last shot at being home for the delivery :headache:

So if I could help from the WDW experts. What dining experiences can we not miss? Please keep in mind oldest DS will be turning 14 . . . . sooooo of course he doesn't want to do anything that he would consider babyish. . . . . SIGHHHHHH!:lmao:

My daughter who is 16 loves Chefs De France so we always try to make it there at least once per trip. We always love 50's Prime Time its so fun. The kids love it if my husband or myself get put in the corner or forced to eat our veggies. The PB&J milkshake is to die for. We usally do Sci Fi for burgers, the kids love the atmosphere. Kona is amazing. Le Cellier is good but we primarily go for the pretzel bread and cheese soup. Our fave character meals are Crystal Palace, Garden Grill, and Chef Mickey's. If you are into seafood Cape May is amazing too!

My brother lives in San Diego and pre-kids, we used to go down and visit frequently. Now, we still get down there - just not as often as we used to.

I've been to the SD Zoo a number of times. I have to admit - it's a pretty awesome zoo. I've not been to Legoland, but I know it's in Carlsbad and there's an outlet shopping mall near there! :thumbsup2 There's also the San Diego Wild Animal Animal Park (I think they call it the Zoo Safari Park or something now). Personally, I think the zoo is better but this is still pretty neat.

Another great place to visit in San Diego is Balboa Park. It's right near the zoo (depending on which entrance to the zoo you choose, you might even drive through part of the park to get there). There's botanical gardens, kids museums, the architecture is pretty fantastic, plus lots more. It's a great place to go to just kick back and relax.

Old Town San Diego is another place that's great to just wander around. There's some pretty fantastic restaurants there as well.

Coronado Island is beautiful but definitely not a full days worth. Belmont Park is a beach front amusement park, so kind of cool that it's on the water but might seem kind of chumpy after Disneyland ;).

Cool! Thanks for all the info. I'm saving it all to go over later when we finally have to decide what we're going to do. :)

The zoo is great and I LOVE the museums. I love model trains and there is a museum at BP dedicated just to them.

My SIL lives in San Diego, so pre-kids we also went there quite often. We haven't been invited since we had our daughter 7 1/2 years ago. Long story.

I second the Old Town, and Balboa Park. We got married on a boat cruising around the harbor. We took our wedding pictures in Balboa Park. There's also the Gas Lamp District, and Sea Port Village (good for a day of shopping and seafood eating).

As much as love reading these boards and specifically this post, It seems weird that the DisWinners have come to an abrupt halt. I don't know maybe I just got use to seeing winners turning up, then I looked on the OMDD conest page to see just WHO has been winning and I haven't seen any recently updated names in the Sweepstakes Winners section. It seems there are only 25 names, shouldn't there be more by now? Who was the most recent DisWinner and how long ago was it ? Maybe Ventura is just getting a little behind and there really IS more pixie dust waiting for us? I just know I will be going through withdrawral when this contest ends...Maybe we should start a begging and pleading post to Disney to continue the contest for the rest of the year. This has been one of the more exciting promotions...

IMO they are just really behind. From what I recall, there were only 2 or 3 folks working this contest and not all of them work full-time.

At least, I'm holding on to hope that is the case. I'm still patiently waiting for that FedEx package... popcorn::popcorn::

With only 3 trips left, this is our last chance. I was really looking foward to checking out Disneyland. :sad1:

I asked this earlier so forgive me if no one has the answer, but I'm wondering if it just got overlooked.

Question for those of you who emailed our WDW contact...did you guys just reply to the original questionnaire email or is there another email address to use? I just tried calling him and didn't want to leave a voicemail so I thought I'd email instead, but there's no direct email address that I see.

I have some questions that I want to ask but I'd rather either talk to Michael or email instead of doing voicemail and hoping he'll call back.

Sue-

I just talked to Cheryl, and she is working very hard to get all of our stuff done today. She told me I would get my itinerary back today, so since you sent yours to her before I did, you should definitely get yours back, if you haven't already, and this is just meaningless...

The first time I emailed him he didn't respond. I gave him a couple of days and then called and he just happened to pick up the phone. Thats when he verbally confirmed my dates but said it could be 30 days etc. I emailed the next day to see if it would be ok to get at least the hotel info emailed to me. He was not working that day so someone by the name of Nancy gathered the info and sent it to me. Each time I just emailed the same address my initial notification came from. I didn't have a personal email address for him. The good thing is that if he is not there at aleast someone is checking his correspondence.

I'm really sad the number didn't go up again today. I'm heading out to Orlando tomorrow morning to participate in the MK being open for 24 Hours on Wednesday, so I'll keep my fingers crossed that at least one more winner will be posting on this thread by the time I get back!!

Have fun. Are you going to stay awake all 24 hours?

What? You guys haven't gotten your itineraries yet? You got your stuff to them before me and I got my plane tickets and everything last Thursday. What happened?

Heh, I'd better because I only booked a room for the 28th :lmao: If I start getting tired though, I suppose I could take a nap on Carousel of Progress or Hall of Presidents, haha.

We got our original itineraries, but we approved them and haven't received our e-tickets, etc yet.

We use the Disneyland railroad as our napping place. Do they have a railroad at WDW?

Oh, and both of my kids have napped during different viewings of Aladdin. Though, to be fair, DS was only 7 months at the time, and it was a milk induced coma.

They do! Though it's not as exciting at the moment because there are a lot of construction walls put up around part of it while they get the new Fantasyland Expansion ready. The first part of the expansion with the new train station is supposed to open up at the end of March though.
