**BEST FRIENDS PET CARE KENNEL at DISNEY WORLD FAQ**

Thanks, I thought that several were being built.

BTW, love your poms & yorkie. I have a pom & used to have a yorkie.

Not to get too off topic, but if anyone remembers my dilemma of where I was going to board my puppy, Beauty for a week and a half, just thouht I'd update.
We live just North of Boston, so we do have plenty of options...No one will come stay with her while we're gone...I'm not surprised it's a lot to ask.
Our friends refered us to Fenway Bark (isn't that cute:laughing:) So my fiance and I last week took the tour, and asked a ton of questions..Got to the look at the rooms and the play area...I think she's gonna love it:yay: Play time ever day, which is part of the cost, not extra like PetSmart Hotels.
The room size she needs is ''luxury box'' because the smaller ones are for tiny dogs...This has cable tv, which she doesn't reall;y need, but it has Skype which is good for me.:goodvibes

Hope this helps someone!

Thats great you found a place closer to board your furkid! Glad you love it and feel comfy with it! :)

Our puppy stayed there during February vacation and was in the indoor/outdoor runs. They need to do something with the lines, why do I need to stand back in line after spending time with my pet. I brought her own water, because she got sick the last time and they never did said anything to me. I feed and walk her myself, the only time they walk her is at nine at night. This time she had a allergic reaction to something, she had green crap coming out of her eyes. When I asked had anyone checked on her lately the answer was no. Clearly if you walked by her you could see this. Thank goodness our vet ( Banfield Hospital) could transfer our records to the Banfield Hospital in Florida and get her treated.

Sorry to hear you had a bad experience....did you pay for extra walks, cause if not, their walks by the staff are limited. What did she have an allergic reaction to, did the animal hospital say? and was it from BFPC?

I walked and played with her twice a day and they walk her at nine at night. My vet said she had a allergic reaction to something at the kennels. This was our first time staying there. She has stayed before at fort wilderness kennel before and we never had any problems.

If im not mistaken, I think with your babies accomodations, they only get walked once. I will recheck and make sure, but I think that's what you get with it. :thumbsup2

Im sorry she had an allergic reaction!:scared1: poor baby! It could of been a number of things in there.:confused3 Im glad she got better!:cloud9:

Yes, they only walk once per day. That is why I choose nine at night so she could go outside to pee and be good for the night.

Thank you, we never did find out what happen to her. My vet said it could be from a zillion things. When she gets her shots they have to do one a week she had a bad reation to one of the shots.

Just an FYI for those that may be staying with Best Friends in the near future, there have been a few policy changes. :)

First is Best Friends is no longer allowing owner's own bedding for dogs in the standard suites or in the Villas. Those that are staying in VIPs and cats are still allowed to bring their own bedding.

Second, the prices have changed a little bit. VIP is now $79 a night, and Villas are now $60 a night. The standard accommodation prices stayed the same. Also, previously an additional pet sharing a VIP or Villa with another pet used to get 50% off, but now they only get 30% off. And last, Villas and VIPs are now no longer available for half day of daycare, only for full days.

Just wanted to make people aware of the policy changes in case anything comes up. :)

Wow! Those are some major changes! Especially the prices and the 30% off and not 50 anymore!

Thank you for that update!

We can't bring our own bedding anymore??? That's a big deal for us particularly with how long we typically go. Poor Riley needs a blankie! :lovestruc

Our kennel does not allow personal bedding because they provide bedding and wash it every day to keep things clean. Maybe this is what Best Pals is doing? I would ask if bedding is provided.

Yeah. The Pet Paradise locations in Houston are the same way about bedding from home. That was one of the things that really set Best Friends apart from other kennels for us, that we could make the experience as much like "home" for Riley as we could. With the price increase and the no-home-bedding policy I'm that much more relieved my brother-in-law will be keeping our girl for us next month. In the future we'll have to get creative with where we leave her. :thumbsup2

From what Designer Rose says, only in the VIP Villas and cats!

There is bedding that can be provided. There is a canvas cot provided for every guest, and there are fleece beds you can pay for for them. (I believe they're $5) And if you insist on bringing your own bedding you can, you'll just have to sign a contract saying that the bedding won't be returned. The change in policy is in order to provide a more flea-free environment for the pets. Some owners were bringing in bedding not noticing that it was full of fleas! :scared1:

Then that is a great thing then.....because I know i dont want my boys being infested with fleas!

Thanks for that info! :)

Eek! Yes, I agree! No fleas for our baby girl! My aunt boarded her mini-schnauzer at a kennel local to her house in the past year and he came home with fleas. I would die. I've only ever seen a single flea on Riley once when we were visiting my grandmother. Her yard has sand and stuff so not surprising that a flea hopped on Riley. We picked it off her and flushed it. We're really careful with the pests & our girl.

As long as Riley can get a cushy bed and a blankie I'm good. She's a cuddly little thing. She needs a lovey spot. :thumbsup2
