2011 Free Dining is Extended! New dates as of 8/3

HELP!! I am need of expert advise.

I have a trip booked for September 31- October 7.

I am paying with a Disney Visa.

I would like to extend my trip to September 31 - October 9th.

What is the best way to get free dining? What do I need to do (step by step)?

Well, first of all, there are only 30 days in September, so I don't think you are booked for September 31

The easist thing to do, if you your dates are flexible and you wouldn't have to pay a fee to change airfare, would be to move your check in date to October 2.

If your dates are not flexible, you would have to do a room only reservation for September 30 and October 1 and pay out-of-pocket for your food and then book a Magic Your Way Package, which includes room, tickets and dining, for your October 2 - 9 dates and have the free dining plan applied to that reservation. According to postes here on the Dis you can pick up your package tickets up to 3 days early.

As long as you check-in by December 17 you can have the free dining discount applied to your reservation up to 14 nights.

If we get the free dining we are going to stay an extra night, So if you was me would you call today and add the extra night and make the other dining reservation. This way all they will have to do is credit the dining back to me. It sounds like reservations may be hard to get once everyone starts getting the free dining. If the free dining does not happen in the month of Aug.I can remove the extra day?

You would have to pick up the tickets at the resort you are staying at.

As for making changing to your reservation, you will need to do that over the phone, you can not modify a reservation on-line.

This is true, we have done it many times, along with thousands of other people here on the Dis. I'm wondering because I'm contemplating booking the reservations online myself now and then calling on Aug. 3 if free dining comes out so they can apply the discount to the package reservation. Yes. You will have to pay all or a portion of the room only discount, depending when your check in date is and at least a $200.00 deposit on the package reservation.

Princess Tiffany". I see that you are going in November...have you been before during that time, if so, what is the weather typically like then? We normally go in Sept and Oct and it's still scorching hot. This time, we are thinking of going Nov 3-10 and am curious as to what the weather will be!

So I am with those hoping for the announcement extending Free Dining dates on Aug 3 ... what is the best plan of attack so to speak, If I get up early and call will the CM's know at open of the new offers, do we wait for it to go on the website? Also, if we stay at a Moderate and get basic dining for free, and I want to pay to upgrade it do I need to upgrade at the time I make the ressie or can I do it later?
