I would like to be included as we couldn't get ressies for brunch, either. It would be dh and myself.
We are among those who couldn't get brunch either. We did have brunch on our last cruise and it was fantastic! I am hoping they will open another brunch date. If you are in the private dining, do you still get to partake of the brunch buffet?

Wait a minute, what wine meet?

hehe!! It's on the first page, but someone was so nice to me and reposting info i needed I'm going to pay it forward here!! but most stuff is on the front of the thread, page 1. I assume they have done such a wonderful job, linda (lindababe) and jeff ( tigfan) and all (sorry, am EXHAUSTED so names are not sticking) that when we get to the next thread it will also be on that front page:

Right now I'm looking at the first sea day, probably around 2pm, in Diversions or Cadillac.

Here's where I'm stuck. Doing a trayed party for 40 people is a little bit out of my reach, even if I charge a nominal fee per person. Keeping things as transparent as possible, for 2 hours, we'd basically be looking at over $1000 before corkage fees even came into play.

Can we finagle the space for 2 hours for a flat rate, have a table set up with 40-50 wine glasses, an empty table for us to place our bottles on as well as handling self opening and pouring (I'll handle bar duties if needed ) and ordering 2 fruit and 2 cheese platters for the event. (The platters apparently feed about 12-15 people). If I can work it out to handle that for about $500, I think that ends up being reasonable for people to throw some donations in to help offset my cost.

If you're interested in this event, pm JenKatt or TigFanJeff with Wine M&G in the subject line.

anyone started doing research on the evening weather around panama canal and up thru mexico that time of year? we like to walk around the ship later in the evening and i'm starting to figure out if i have the right clothes to bring!!

DH thinks he schedule palos for nght 11. according to what y;all found out, that's pirate night. if that's the case, does palo become a pirate area too? if he remembered wrong and it's a formal night instead, do you go palo dressed or formal?

Yes, I actually called DCL today to see if I could get any more information out of them, but I came up with nothing additional. The information is the same: Formal night on nights 3 and 14, Semi-formal night on night 10 and pirate night on night 11. No, Palo does not do anything for pirate night. It is the regular Palo menu. To me, Palo is formal, so I would wear the same thing there as I would on Formal night. HTH! Good luck planning!

I did reopen it... since we had so many new cruisers! Here is the link.. you can sign up as a family or as an individual... if you are signing up as more then 1 person..please include all of the info at the same time (if possible - please do not do more then 3 as a family). If you are signing up multiple individuals, you just fill in the info and go back to the link again and fill in the info for the next person signing up.

Each sign up gets thier own SM. The info on how the SM works (if you need it) is on our website (link on the first page)

Ok great! THANKS!!

Yes if you are in the private room you take part in the brunch buffet and items made to order.

OK all caught up!!

With all of you watching and waiting for GTY cabins.

Angela - DD was out-horsed. The show was big and tough! She hung in there having only had 2 weeks to learn this new horse - she did not lose her cool at all. She was top 10 in all events so she was pretty happy. Thanks for asking!

Still trying to work out logistics for our flight out of Oakland.:3dglasses

Sent ressie for Banana Boat and Ziplining. Booked glass bottom boat at Castaway Cay and most Palo times left are 9 pm so thinking about that. We want to parasail with DHs cousins family but they are lowest level bookers - so not sure whether to wait or not.

So...want to see the volcano....so waiting for the info another DISer was gathering.

2 of us would be in for Bunco. Family night might be tough we are 8.

Greetings everyone...
I have a few minutes so I wanted to check in and say "HI" :wave2:
:welcome::welcome:A great big WELCOME to all of the new people who just joined the group! :welcome::welcome: I am looking forward to meeting everyone and hanging out!!:cool1:

Lynn, LOVED your pictures! Especially your honey in his Mickey tie and kilt! That was classic!! Did you travel with more people from Scotland or did you meet them on the trip??

To all of you at WDW (of which there seem to be MANY), I hope you have a wonderful time.

As far as Bunco, I would love to join in! I even have a set of die with Mickey ears instead of dots that I would be happy to bring :earsboy::earsboy:

***CAN THE PERSON WHO WANTED TO SET UP THE OTHER CARD GAME (CAN'T REMEMBER WHAT IT WAS CALLED) PM ME?? I want to make sure it gets scheduled at a time that works!!!

I think that is it...at least for now :goodvibes

I hope you all have a wonderful week!

Oh, one more thing...as another GTY, I like the lifeboat idea! Can I have lifeboat 3??:rotfl:

~Melissa

Oh my, I can't believe I got this far behind in my reading. Can't take a day off with this group. Two of us would love to join the Champagne Girls if there is still room. :confused3
Thank you,
now back a lot of pages - so I can get caught up AGAIN!!!

A little extra point about Panama Canal postcards. We all wrote them and posted them, but they all arrived NOT franked, or whatever you call it, ifrom Panama. It was quite disappointing as we could have sent them from anywhere. I hope it is different this time.
That is disappointing. The cancellation stamp is an important part of the postcard, maybe this time they will get it right. Even if it doesn't get cancelled we will know we were there and dropped it in the mailbox.
Thats disappointing! Can I ask where was it stamped from then, the US or some other random place? The whole allure of having it as a souvenir is the postmark- I would hate if it didnt say Panama on it.

I just went back and looked at the postcard we sent to ourselves on the last PC cruise. And sadly, no there wasn't a postmark over the stamp from Panama. I did notice the barcode of sorts in the "official use only" area at the bottom though. Maybe that's all they do in Panama???

And for those wondering, you could buy the postcards and stamps in the gift shops any time, not just the day of crossing. They had the drop box out beforehand, too, so you didn't have to remember the day of crossing to send the postcards. We did have to have them in the box by 1:00 the day of crossing, though.

Great pictures Lynne!
I was showing these to DH and DS and I said "Look at that ugly boat next to the Magic!" And DS says "That is NOT a boat, Momma!" Sure doesn't look like one. Especially next to the beautiful Magic :goodvibes
He's so right, that is NOT a boat. Looks more like a brick that's about to sink, if you ask me. :lmao:

Does anyone know how the dining rotations go on the PC cruises?

I know the 7 nights the dining rooms just rotate. e.g. PLAPLAP - has it been a similar thing on previous PC cruises? (So it would be PLAPLAPLAPLAPLA :rotfl: sounds funny if you say it out loud)

--Kay
I don't really have OCPD (Obsessive compulsive planning disorder:lmao::lmao::lmao:) honest!
We had the PLAPLAPLAPLAPLA rotation on we were on the PC in 2008. We were in Lumiere's for all formal & semi-formal nights, Parrot Cay for Pirate night & Tropical Night, and Animator's Palette for Mexican Fiesta Night & Mickey Mouse Club night.

But from what I've read here, they're going to mix it up some so you're never in the same dining room twice for the formal/semi-formal nights. Makes no difference to me as long as I get dinner. And I'm looking forward to actually getting through a whole dinner without having to leave part way through to take a child (or 2) to Flounders. Oh what a difference a couple years will make.

That is awesome! I love collecting special passport stamps too. I really hope that Guest Services can do it if we leave them with them through the cruise- I've heard some DISers say that if you leave it with them, they'll get the stamps for you, and I hope that is true since we are going to so many ports!
We left our passports at Guest Services in hopes of getting them stamped at each port and didn't get any. It was sad, but oh well. It was a long shot anyway. Maybe we'll try again.
Do we have a headcount for kids?? My DD wants to do a FE gift just for kids
There isn't an official count, but you can always go to the website Jeff set up and calculate it out yourself. At the moment it seems to be a moving number, but you could at least get an idea.

Okay, I think I'm finally caught up. I was only off for a day and a half and still had over a dozen pages to read through. We took the kids (and MIL) to see Shrek, the Musical yesterday. It was good fun. The kids especially liked the farting/burping scene. Go figure. Then we wandered around the fair for a bit, mostly in the Auto buildings looking at the cars. It was perfect fair weather here yesterday.

Angela - DD was out-horsed. The show was big and tough! She hung in there having only had 2 weeks to learn this new horse - she did not lose her cool at all. She was top 10 in all events so she was pretty happy. Thanks for asking!

That's pretty awesome for such a big show!

Hello again!

And I'm looking forward to actually getting through a whole dinner without having to leave part way through to take a child (or 2) to Flounders. Oh what a difference a couple years will make.

Me too!

Oh, wait, i forgot to ask a really important question: the wine meet up - if i bring a bottle from here in maryland, how do i get it down there? I can't carry it on as it's more than 3 ounces, right? how do you pack it? i can see i'm going to pay a small fortune in overages! i wish i could get DH to do SW so i could bring a second bag, we each could use 1 and a half bags down!! but it's not to be!

sherri
What wine meet up? Not the champers? I wrap it in bubble wrap and put it in hard case.
Well to those who were wondering if made it to WDW. I am about to get on Rock 'N Roller coaster. Oh yes. I love this ride.
My fav ever, not been on for ages.
Greetings everyone...

My Dad was in that photo and we met others that were on the dis boards

Have a great day everybody, Im away to a spinning class, still 4 of the 8 lbs to shed post magic:laughing:

Good Morning Cruisers and Welcome to the newest to the group!

I'm kinda bummed about Pirate night on night 11 as we are in Palos that night also. (However getting DH into costume probably wouldn't happen anyway). I've been trying to catch up with everything as I had computer problems and was at WDW. I'm going to check on lanyards now, I hope it's on the front page.

As for Bunco and other games will they be a casual thing or do we HAVE to sign up before hand? Just wondering cause that stuff would depend on what else is going on onboard at the time (at least for me).

Pam (doing her part to help hit 250)
