Welcome back, Teena! My next trip will be a Disney Cruise (at least that's what I'm dreaming about) and I want to hear all the details!!

And to everyone else who is just leaving for their trips or just getting there, have a blast!! I'm at work right now and I am getting so excited for our trip to the Beach Club in two weeks that I literally get jumpy and start smiling to myself....Hoping you all have fantastic weather and your vacations are all that you imagine and more!! :goodvibes

WELCOME BACK TEENA !! Getting that wash done:laundy: is not as much fun as packing it in the first place. Glad you had a great time. That's some work schedule. :scared1: Start planning your next trip. That will help. Just don't make it the first week of December. ;) I missed you the last time I was there.

Next two trips are already planned. Going to visit Jeanne and help with the kids in school August 24th through September 4th and then again September 28th through October 7th.

You're right though. When we visited WDW (before we retired here), I had to plan the next trip before I could start doing the laundry from the present one. I needed that countdown to get me through everything at work and at home!

I'm home. It was fantastic. Best weather I've ever had for the entire cruise. Ocean was like a lake. Couldn't even tell the ship was moving. Castaway Cay = two days of being in heaven!!!!

Starting the wash now.

Got my schedule and you all are going to be sick of me. I'm working Saturday (tomorrow), Sunday, Monday, (off Tuesday and Wednesday), then back Thursday, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. I won't get my schedule past then until Wednesday. It's been a long time that I've worked that much so my poor feet and back are going to be crying!

Hope everybody is having fun that are there now and I'll see you tomorrow!!!

Welcome back! sorry to hear about the heavy work load:hug:we'll see you next weekend (I love typing that!):)

Welcome Back Teena!!! Glad your vacation was so nice. One of my favorite trips was on a cruise, haven't done a Disney one yet though. But will one of these days :goodvibes

Ok, my husband and I have booked a last minute trip to the YC!!!! i am very excited. We usually stay at the BW, but nothing available. We have not stayed at the YC for 8 years and I am really looking forward to going. It will just be my husband and I and we plan on just relaxing and having our own little celebration. It will be his retirement celebration and my cancer free anniversary.

I just booked my first stay at Beach Club, A studio villa was available for less so that is what I booked. Does Mousekeeping really only come in every four days? That's what it said on the DVC board and it probably applies to the general public booked in the villas but I thought I would ask.

Any additional tips or handy info would be great. DS13 and I will be going for 5 days in November (before thanksgiving). I will keep reading this thread too.

Thanks!!

If you paid for a cash reservation through Disney (as opposed to renting points from a member) you'll get daily housekeeping. The four day rule is for members and those renting points.

Never stayed at BCV, though I have stayed in other DVC properties, and I love them! You're going to really enjoy all the amenities of the YC/BC resort, and having the ability to walk or take a short boat ride to two parks!

Welcome home Teena. It sounds like you are going to be busy greeting the next week but you will be greeting a lot of your DIS friends. It sounds like it's going to be really busy. Is your daughter ready for the short break before she switches to the nine month schedule? That's going to be tough on her, it was for my daughter.

Welcome home!!!! I'm sorry your schedule is so crazy. All those lucky vacationers who get to see you!
We're arriving late on 8/21 and you're leaving 8/24. Do you think we'll get to see you before you leave??? Fingers crossed!!!

Amanda

I'm sorry to hear about your DD. But luckily it is a postponement and not a cancellation. I'm sure that will keep you all going.

We've stayed YC CL and are going back in 2 weeks. Feel free to PM me if you have any questions I might be able to answer. YC is great and I'm sure you will have a terrific time!

Thank you! DD has some recently diagnosed medical conditions that the heat makes worse, but she really wanted to go on her birthday in August,so she was disappointed :sad1: Any info. you can give me about YC concierge or YC itself would be great help!!:thumbsup2

You will LOVE either one!!! We just returned from our first trip to YC, and DH didn't even want to go and look at other resorts while we were there. As far as he is concerned, he has found his Disney "Home". The only one he would consider is BC (which to us is the same resort, just different decor). The location of these resorts is perfect, the pool area is amazing. For the first time ever, we USED the resort each day to relax and soak in the pool. We truly didn't want to leave.

Happy Choosing

While you are planning...you have found one of the best threads to "hang out" on:lovestruc

Thanks guys!! This has been the #1 choice for me FOREVER. Last summer when we stayed at BWI and I saw how great the area was it just solidified it for me. Now that I see the new room decor, even better!!

Concierge level is available for our upcoming trip and assuming I could apply the 40% code I have to it (not sure if that's possible...) the cost wouldn't be too out of the question for our budget. My question is what is the CL like? Is it worth it for two people? Not sure about the food offerings as we are vegetarians... I've never stayed Concierge in my life so this would be totally new. Tell me what I'd love about it :) Also one more question - could I just decide on the day I arrive and ask then if it's possible to upgrade at the additional rate?
We had a 40% off code (the rabbit from Alice in Wonderland was on it) for our stay at the AKL last week and it was NOT applicable to Club Level rooms :( However, we had the 4/3 deal last summer and stayed at the BWI and it WAS applicable to club level rooms, so I think it always depends on the specific details of your code. I'd definitely call and ask :)

She's very sad about switching to nine months. I'll be there to help get the classroom cleaned and then for the whole first week of the new kids. I think one of the things she is really sad about is not coming home for the F&W Festival. She always had a track break then. But we are planning to do alot together next summer including her coming her to just veg out and a week at a dude ranch (leaving the men at home for that week).

I'm so glad I got to meet you when you checked in. I'm happy you are having a blast. I can't wait to hear all about it!!

Definitely! I always work on Sundays so I'm sure I'll see you then! I'm so sorry to hear about your daughter. I look forward to spending some time with you and talking about it. I really enjoyed our "talks" when you were here last time.

Welcome to all the new posters on this board! Ellibelle, SRUalmn and KerryCM (for the return to BC/YC,) hope you love BC/YC as much as we do!

Welcome Home, Teena! So glad we were able to meet you on your extra day last Friday! (Except for our sound asleep littlest guy - the excitement of TSM at rope drop was just too much!) Right after you walked us out to ME, and we got on the bus, my husband looked at all of us and said, "Now you're all going to want to go on a Disney cruise, right?" So please post more details if you have a moment. (Although it sounds like you might not with such a busy week ahead!)
