has anyone had to change their resort/ reservation date that was already booked due to the FD not available on your date at your resort????

nope i didn't need to change my dates at all.
i booked back in the beginning of march and since i knew the bounceback offer was going to start on august 15th and that many promos were going to end on august 14th i predicted that if you was free dining it would start on august 15th.
so i booked for august 15th to be my first day and it worked out perfectly.

That's great to stay with the dates and same resort, maybe Disney has finally figured out it is easier to leave you where they are booked. In 96 and 97 when we added the dining we had to switch resorts, but in 97 I said to DW just keep calling back and asking if POP is available where we had origionally booked and after several weeks and many calls we got POP back, but what a hastle of us and Disney. Just keep people where they are booked seems simpler for all.

My son has been laughing at me as I checked every day to see if FD will become available... not for myself (we booked BB last Oct.), but because I became an unpaid TA for some friends. I had told two couples with young children that surely Disney would offer FD this year during Sept. and that it would be a great deal for them. So, I have been sweating it out again this year even though we've been booked since last Oct. for our family of 5. Here's what he doodled yesterday, when I told him they finally announced it.

Just had to post this. He's the biggest Disney fan in the house, but :rotfl: he totally gets it!

:rotfl2::rotfl2::rotfl2:Your son is talented. Thanks for sharing.

So the ASM Suites are excluded from the free dining, correct? DH and I already have the bounceback offer from last year but we have 2 other family members/families that are booked in suites and would like the free dining. Should we tell them to change their reservation and get 3 rooms instead of the 2 suites?

Thanks :)

We are booked for ASM FS for 10/2-10/8. I called as soon as I heard DVisa card offer for FD was open. The CM told me she could not give me FD with the FS. I then called back and changed me resie to FW cabins. My husband had a minor meltdown because he really wanted the FS. So I called back and after the CM speaking with a supervisor, I was given the FS with FD. I'm still wondering if I was just lucky or if the original cm was wrong.

I think you got some Disney magic:wizard: because it clearly states that they are excluded.

I know that this has already been asked and answered, but I need to ask again.

So, all Disney suites (including Deluxe, Mods and Values) are excluded from F? Or just the suites at Deluxe?:confused3

At what point did Disney extend FD through OCT and part of Nov last year? I remember it happening, but I don't know when. We are goin Oct 15, ADR's already made and now I'm thinking maybe I should change my dates even though I will lose some of our favorite ADR's.

That wasn't an extension of the September free dining, it was a separate promotion and I believe it came out in July. I believe the September promotion was the DDP regardless of resort category, but the Oct-Dec one was definitely the tiered one that they're offering this year for September.

Wow...nice being upgraded like that. We'll never be in the pool of resort guest that are looked at for upgrades....our family is too large and we require 2 rooms at any resort.....I bet it was nice though.
The problem was that I really wanted to stay at POR! I turned down the studio because we just checked out of SSR on points in a 1br a few days earlier before going to Tampa to see my inlaws. It was ok but very strange being in a DVC villa with maid service :).

You may still get an upgrade even with two rooms. In fact you are easier to move than them having to call two people to get them to move. I remember back in 2007 they were moving dozens of people from the values to okw and ssr and I remember reading that some people got 2brs out of the deal. That was when they were calling people in advance.

I am pretty new to free dining so I need advice! I am getting ready to make our res for aug 17- 24 shld I go ahead and book the dining in hopes of getting it free or just wait til the promo comes out?

I would go ahead and book your reservation. That way you know you've got the trip booked. Then next week when the dining plan is available for the general public all you'll have to do is call back in, give them your reservation number and tell them you'd like to take advantage of the free dining promotion. It's as simple as that. Good luck and have a magical day!

I'm sooooooooooo confused!!!!!!

See post #2485, it was in this thread I read about the Family Suites, I knew I wasn't crazy :lmao:

Availability is extremely limited, and must be booked by August 14, 2010 It appears that all suites have been excluded from this offer, though all resorts, including value resorts are included (All-Star Family Suites are included).

Is it me or does it say ASFsuites are included? The site that was quoted isn't an official disney or visa website so is it really accurate?

As Canadian Guy said many posts back- just because you can't get a particular resort for specific dates doesn't mean the resort is not included. It may be sold out for those specific dates. You may have to try different dates. I will try on Monday and report back.

Can anyone else confirm that they booked FD with ASFsuites? Thanks!

Oh Im so glad you had a great Disney day. And yes we are very lucky to have FD. It has been a great day. The only reason I posted my experience was to help those who maybe confused or who don't know like I didn't, that CM may just add things in so beware. I have booked way more vacations at DLR and I can't say I have ever had them add things with out asking. So thats what I am use too.

Yeah for getting your MNSSHP tickets. pirate:

Yes it can be very confusing to people who don't go to the world often. I'm glad you posted this for others to see.

We actually had the fd bounceback and went for the disney visa QSDP instead. I think the QSDP will work for my family better. I just wish it was offered at the moderates as a choice.

Sorry I was reading it really fast and you are correct the AS FS are included in the offer...totally missed the part that say though all resorts(just read suites were not included and Family suites are included...I think I need some rest due to reading these boards for hours everyday for the past month:rotfl::surfweb:
Having said that the faster you are on the phones the better since there is not a whole lot of FS I would think they will be one of the first to go:goodvibes GL on Monday!!!:goodvibes

I saw that you have to book a maximum of 10 days for free dining. But, I remember the other years that we have booked we had the dining plan for 14 days free. Is it still that way this year?
I don't know where you read that, but it's incorrect.

Free dining promo has a 3 day minimum and 14 day maximum for booking.
