As a teacher, please, please, please consider the pronunciation of a name you give your child. Every year there is at least one name where the pronunciation just doesn't match the spelling and the poor kid is embarrassed over and over.
Since the OP is going towards Irish names, American teachers are just going to have to deal.
An Irish name that I wanted to use, but DH vetoed b/c it was too "Irishy" was Eammon (pronounced Ay-men) ..I loved it and there is a fish and chips joint in town named Eammon's
Too Irishy, LOL. From our Celtic baby name book, the spelling is Eamonn; we used it and dropped the second N from it, b/c hubby asked me too.
But actually we should have named him Angus, as that is far more like his personality...I see Angus as loud and wild and strong...Eamon to me is more quiet...my Eamon is much more of an Angus to me, but I nixed that one! If only we could wait until kids are 1 or so to name them, so as to do is properly.
Luckily he also has his quiet and gentle sides.
And it links up with Edmond, which means Protector, and he certainly is that!!!
OP, I wish I could help. I'm still keeping the one name I adore under wraps; don't want anyone to get the idea from me.
But really, if you're getting the name from this sort of thread, it's NOT going to be that unusual, b/c someone has already heard it/used it, etc.
Back when I fell in love with the name Aidan, when Benny and Joon was out, Mr Quinn was the ONLY one I had EVER heard of. Alas, seems many of my generation glommed onto the name just like I did, and they all had their kids first. So an unusual name (in this country) became extremely popular, along with all the variations on spelling, etc. You can't really judge what's going to be popular 10 years from now.
And...you might give them an interesting/unusual name, like my mom did when she named me Molly, and the kid might go the next 30 years YEARNING to be a Tiffany/Stephanie/Lisa/Mike/Matt etc etc, just to find someone else with the same name.... You can really never win, b/c all the Lisas/Stephanies/Mikes etc I knew wished to be less usual!
