OT - Need original baby boy name...

Our ds is Quinn Julien. Quinn was my great grandmother's maiden name and Julien is my grandfather-in- law's first name (French- Canadian). We really debated about the name, but it suits our son and is a wonderful tribute to his grandparents.

As a teacher, please, please, please consider the pronunciation of a name you give your child. Every year there is at least one name where the pronunciation just doesn't match the spelling and the poor kid is embarrassed over and over.

I'm a little partial to our DS's name - Truett (or you can spell Truitt). Different but not too out there. I've only ever heard of one other!

My oldest's name is Declan. It's old Irish - an 11th century saint.

I know what you mean about the Aidens. In Declan's preschool class, there are only six boys and there is an Aiden, a Caden, a Jayden, and a Hayden! It must be a nightmare for his teachers!

What about Conner (or Connor)?
Also know a little boy named Sawyer that I think is a pretty cute, original name.

Thank you so much for all these suggestions! There are quite a few great options I can discuss with DH now. Thank you!!

Here are some that I like:
Mason
Parker (my favorite!!)
Carson
Cason
Rylan (my other favorite)
My current youngest is a Rylan. I love his name :teeth:.

I love, love, love the name Declan and it was on my list. DH poo poo'd it. Apparently he has NO taste. I'm still keeping it in the game though.

My ds's name is Bennett. We've only ever heard of one other Bennett. We really liked the name Ben but didn't want a Benjamin so we went with Bennett.

Don't know if you'll like any of these, but these are my favorite boy names:

Asher, Anderson, Beckett, Brooklyn (yes, I know LOL), Colin, Callum, Cullen, Drake, Elliot, Elijah, Ezra, Griffin, Halen, Jude, Kai, Kellan, Keiran, Lane, Liam, Lincoln, Lachlan, Madden, Nolan, Noah, Owen, Parker, Page, Reese/Rhys, Sebastian, Stellan, Wesley, Xavier

My DS is also Bennett---ha! now you know of two!

An Irish name that I wanted to use, but DH vetoed b/c it was too "Irishy" was Eammon (pronounced Ay-men) ..I loved it and there is a fish and chips joint in town named Eammon's

I have a Mason and a Maddox

Other names I liked/considered:
Marcus
Matteo
Marlon
Micah
Marcel
Myles

If DD had been a boy her name would have been Desmond Edward:goodvibes
Desi for short.

I also like Chaz and a friend of mine named his son Dash, like in the Incredibles.

We have a Sebastian and our boy names that we didn't use when I was pregnant with our girls were Kenneth and Sawyer. None of them are very common these days, but they aren't unusual enough to be constantly misspelled or mispronounced either.

My favorite boy's name is Aaron :cloud9:. It's biblical and traditional and not overly popular.

We have lots of Declan's and Dante's here - everyone is either Irish, Italian, or both! :lmao:

My son's name is Myles Emery. Myles is #213 in popularity according the social security website. Obviously, I love the name and we only know 2 other Myles and both spell it Miles.
Emery is a family name. It's my DH and his fathers middle name and DH's fathers maternal grandmothers maiden name.

When I heard Sarah Palin's son's name, Trygg, I fell in love with it. So much that I put it on our list of names when I found out I was pregnant with baby number 3. We found out two weeks ago we are having a boy, but my husband doesn't like the name Trygg. We agreed to name him Austin Jacob. We already have a son named Cameron Michael and a daughter named Macy Lynn, so I too like unique names. Some of the other unique boy names I had on my list were Blaine, Gavin, and Ryder.

Nathan (Nate - what we were going to go with if we had a boy)
Parker
Gavin
Anderson

:goodvibes Congrats BTW!

I love different and unique names, but never got to use any of my boy choices as i had girls and our son was adopted and all ready named.....my boy choices were and still are:

Remington - Remi for short
Memphis
Roman
Drayton

I have had friends each use the above names once, but dont recall hearing to many by those names..........

My boys names are:

James (Jimmy) - Named after my husbands father
Jonathan - Has my dads middle name
Jacob - Middle name is Andrew

:goodvibes
