I have started talking to Mayo clinic. We already have a case number or some kind of reference number. I am waiting to hear back from my insurance exactly what I am going to need to do to get it approved. I am not feeling like this is going to be an easy task, from what I have gotten out of them so far. I am going to appeal to their wallets though and point out that if she had some actual help they may not have had to pay for ..... 30 prescriptions, 10 ER visits, 30 urine cultures (about $300 a time!), 5 doctor visits , and probably more that I can't think of...... I want them to see how out of control her care expenses are and it is primarily because we aren't getting any care!

I sure hope the insurance company listens to you. It might also help if you have the Dr.'s office contact them as well. I know this can be touchy- but if they're willing- it will help your case.

What does Mayo say when you speak to them?
Keep up the good work momma bear! You're doing great.

Someone mentioned being able to sew and watch kiddos too so I took some pics of my updated play/sewing room! We found the large cabinet a month ago...someone was just throwing it out! DH got it for me for storage and for the laptop and tv! Its just perfect. DH also got me a large folding table which is great because I can cut fabric at one end and sew at the other. See all those colorful folders sitting behind the sewing machine??? They are all Carla C's sewing "books" printed out. I can also scrapbooking and do other crafts on the table! Very cheap but functional!

Not bad considering I had nothing a year ago! Enjoy your week and see you all soon! :cheer2:

Poor kid - she's probably so used to being in some amount of pain that her pain tolerance is way high. And that makes it even harder for her (and you) because she probably doesn't complain too much unless it's really bad.

I know that's got to be so frustrating for all of you! I hope you get some answers soon and that Riley gets to feeling better.

You just did a way better job explaining what I was trying to say with about 10% of the words! You must be a nurse or something!!!!

That has been a problem in the past. Plus she is just so sick of being sick that sometimes she lets it go way to long before she says anything and then she is miserable. She just misses so much when she's sick. There have been a couple of times that she has been acting horrible and getting in trouble and then we find out she is sick. I think she just doesn't know and she feels yucky and she acts terrible and grouchy then we all feel awful because I just yelled at a sick kid!

I just need to get this figured out.

What a great room!

Did anyone get the email that the release date for HSM 3 is 10/24??? Yup, my DD's 5th birthday! Guess I found a nice cheap bday present ;) Maybe I'll take a couple of her little buddies and we can skip the bday party too!!!

That really might work. Jackson was really really sick when he was a baby. His initial stay in the hospital came with a $250,000 bill (we had great insurance and didn't have to pay much at all comparitively speaking). There was a shot to prevent him from getting the same virus, but he didn't fit the profile that the insurance would approve for the shots. The shots were $2000 per shot and he needed 2 per month for 6 months (for 2-3 years). I talked with them about the cost of shots vs the cost of him getting sick and they approved him- for 2 years even, which is pretty unheard of. Good luck! I hope Riley gets the help she needs.

Oh Good luck with everything! Please don't forget to keep us posted!!!!

I know before my dd was dx'd I don't think she realized what it was like to feel normal and since she has been on the gluten free diet she has been perfect and never even try to cheat. I swear it is because she now knows how it feels to be normal and feel good.

That is great! I have something pretty similar on one end of my bedroom. It works for me in there because dh works 24 hour shifts so the nights he's gone are the nights I do most of my sewing.

My girls always want to sit in my chair and dig through my stuff. I've decided that they are not allowed to even go behind my tables! They have plenty of things that are just theirs, so I figured I could have this one little corner of the house. It made a big difference when they started leaving my stuff alone. I can actually find things in the spots I leave them now!

Why don't you call the Insurance commissioner? They may be able to put a call in for you.

I have to talk to someone at mayon in the urology dept. and find out for sure if they will take her as a patient. I am hoping to hear from them on Monday. I am a little confused about what steps need to come first, but I will figure it out.

I am actually going to buy refills for my franklin planner today if Riley feels up to getting out. I haven't used it for a couple of years, but I feel a need to be really organized coming up! I have all of this medical stuff on sheets of paper sitting in a pile. Keeping everything straight is really overwhelming me right now.

Ohhh, I am so jealous. I have my machine on my dining room table and my serger on my coffee table when I get it out. My next place will have a sewing/play room for sure!

I hadn't thought of that. I am going to talk to my pcp tomorrow and see if she is willing to do the referal. She knows I am really unhappy with our current situation, so I hope she will.

I think that she feels kind of like I do. There probably really isn't any reason that we would need to go there. If our docs here would work on it they could probably figure it out. But if they won't do it, I don't know what else to do, so I hope she'll see it that way too.

I used to use Fray Check (you can get it at Wal-Mart, Hancock's, etc) but I have now just been using my grill lighter. I hated having to wait for the Fray Check to dry.

Thanks everyone for your answers. I used fray check and must have just been too frugal or missed the edges or something. I'll retry the tips and see how it goes. Just wanted to make sure I hadn't missed some really obvious other solution.

I have my girls their matching sundresses done/repaired. I just need them to cooperate and get a picture.

So, totally OT ... do any grown women (besides me) watch big brother. It starts tonite.

I do, but don't tell anyone because I'm kind of embarrased about it.:rolleyes1

I do dvr it because you just never know what those folks are going to do and some of it is not pg enough for the kids to see!

Good morning all! I know there have been problems getting the BGG (Big Give Group) logo to fit into existing signatures so I made a smaller one.

bgg_logo2-1.gif

The code is just the same except the name of this version of the logo. Here's the code to use this one (be sure to remove the spaces after the [ symbols):

[ URL="http://disboutiquers.proboards106.com/index.cgi?board=pertinentinformation"][ IMG]http://i31.photobucket.com/albums/c368/zoe_diva/Graphics/bgg_logo2-1.gif[ /IMG][ /URL]

FYI - My understanding is the Webmasters have set up the board so it will only display the signature up to a maximum height of 250 pixels (I don't recall the width). Anything more gets cut off. The new logo is 50 pixels high so as long as your existing images and text aren't more than 200 pixels high, the whole thing should show.

 ...actually its today at this time. Love the JoJo outfit! LisaZoe-I think I remember a Snow White outfit you appliqued that I drooled over. You have an amazing knack of picking gorgeous prints for your Princess outfits. I'm jealous!

I love trying to find new combinations of prints. I sometimes lie in bed at night staring at my fabric stash thinking about what I might put together. I'll admit it helps to have a pretty big stash so there are more options.

Lisazoe- I think project runway is moving to lifetime after the current season!

I hope so although I don't remember if I get that channel either.

Can you guys see my ticker? One of my friends said it wasn't there, but I can see it.

I don't see it. I think your other 3 images are too tall so the ticker gets omitted by the board. If you resize those images so they are 200 pixels high (or less), you should be OK.

I hope they'll listen! Of course it might help if the local doctors you've been trying to work with would listen so you didn't feel you needed to go in the first place. :confused3

Is HSM 3 going to be released in theaters first? I'd assumed it would be on the Disney Channel like the first 2.

Hi Everyone,

We just got back from Camp Promise~~ It was wonderful and I will share pictures later if you wish!!

I have a question - my mom asked me to make shorts for her grand daughters for this weekend - I am going to use the easy fit pants pattern for most of them, BUT - one is a size girls 16 - has anyone enlarged the pattern or would be willing to share how they did it? or should i just go buy a pair of size 16 shorts and trace them (with a seam allowance?)?

thanks, Wendy:goodvibes

That is a great space. I wish mine was so clean and organized.

Lisa, Thank you for the new signature code!

I finished the tee for Clay (MAW BG #2). I'll be making shorts to go with it in the next few days.

Since the subject of tie-dye tees came up recently, I thought I'd share a tee Zoe and I did together. Last weekend we tie-dyed a bunch of tees for fun. I have no idea what I'll do with many of them since they aren't Zoe's size. Once they were all rinsed, washed and dried, I decided to add appliqué to one that is her size. I just wish the colors of the tees came out brighter plus all the tees kind of look the same since we used all colors on all the tees. It's fun to do so I may get some higher quality dyes to play with. I will say this is definitely an outside activity when Zoe is helping. LOL
