Well, I have to get my house cleaned up and get ready to sew and watch Robin Hood on BBC America tonight at 8 (central time) because it's a new episode!!!

Do any of you watch that? I think I have a little crush on Robin. If you haven't watched you totally should. It's a fun show for kids too!

We don't get BBC America. I miss a few channels that we lost when we moved from cable to satellite. However, I don't miss the higher bill. I wish I could just pick the channels I really do watch and only pay for those.

How is Riley today? I hope her night (and yours) was uneventful.

And some pics we took outside

OK, those are some seriously handsome boys!!

I finally finished the Cindy outfit!!!!

I left the pupils on the appilque small b/c I couldn't get them to look right big!

That's really pretty!! You did a fabulous job!

I just had to share some good news with all of you.

I had posted before that I have somethings going on in my life right now that just plain stink and coming here really brightens my day!

Anyways.....I had been working on a few different dresses, outfits, etc. to sell (if Parker didn't want them) and in the past two weeks, I have sold 4 dresses, 2 hair bows and I just today I got an order to do 2 more dresses with matching hair bows. I'm on :cloud9:
Thanks for letting me share this with all of you!!!!!!!!! Y'all are the best!!!!!!

Yeah! Congrats! Wishing you continued success! :cheer2:

I think we get BBC America - I'll have to check! But, I'm with you Lisa, I wish there were "a la carte" options to buy the channels. We seriously only watch a handful of channels, but we have to pay for sooooo many!

I am seeing a lot of talk about the stripwork skirt and it brought up a question for me. Do you guys use rectangular or wedge shaped strips? I have always just used the wedge shaped strips. What is the difference in the look you get?

The wedge shaped give more twirl and less bulk at the waist.

You know, I like the idea of sending simple things like stickers and crayons too. I'm not as creative, and overwhelmed with life at times, but would love to be able to send small impulsive things too. Is the Big Give open to these simpler things? I was even thinking a simple postcard from our area with well wishes and a book about local stuff might by nice for some????

I don't know about anyone else, but I think it's a great idea. I was just in Michaels and they had a bunch of Disney stuff for $1. So I picked a bunch up. I thought I could put it in some of the packages here and there. There were cards, note pads, diaries.

... I broke my sewing machine. :sad1: I finally found the nerve (and the time) to try to make a storybook skirt for my DD - sat down and figured out the ruffler (thank you CarlaC for the free e-book!) - got my fabric cut - sat down at the machine and thought "Hmmm, I should change my needle, it's been a while." The needle was stuck in there, and when I finally grabbed some pliers to pull it out, the entire assembly fell off and I can't get it back on. :sad1: I know it's not a tragedy in the grand scheme of life, but I really wanted to sew tonight. And I'm supposed to sew with my MIL tomorrow.

:sad1:

I like to walk away from something like this. When I come back to i later, I'm not quite as stressed out and can deal with it better. Maybe MIL will see something you don't.

I'm sorry to hear about your dog. I lost one of my cats a year ago. And it devasted me as it was something so simple I could have easily taken care of. Never in my life would I have thought a Cat could die from fleas. I completely understand how you feel.

I don't sell on :wizard: or the other place, only to people I know or friends of friends. I am not confident enough in my skills to make the venture into the auctions but this happening to me today has really given me the boost that I needed to really amp up what I'm doing. I am going to make up some more things and start making my way to consignment shops and see what I can do.

Thanks for letting me share this with all of you!!!!!!!!! Y'all are the best!!!!!!

:cheer2: :cheer2: HORRAY AMY!!!:cheer2: :cheer2:

That is excellent news!!! Keep up the good work:thumbsup2

I really love it. I think that there is a site where you can get it for $70 if you don't mind waiting for them to send you the CD. I am impatient and just downloaded it from Adobe for $99. I really, really love it though. I wish that I hadn't given away my "learn to use elements" book. I would have given it to you!

Is that the name of the Elements book? I just got Elements and thought I could just figure it out on my own... :lmao: :lmao: :lmao: I really need a how-to book!

I wanted Photoshop so that I could make my DD's birthday party invitations (I've seen so many cute ones on :wizard: ) but I have no idea where to even start with the program.

PRINCESS MOM 29 - absolutely love the Cinderella top and skirt...the fabric and design are loverly! :thumbsup2 What a wonderful gift! :cool1:

SoHappy Stacy - I love those pics of the boys...I think I mentioned it on your trippie or here but just seeing them again....they are amazing! :cool1: Have you considered "photography" as another side-job??? Is there anything you don't do??

:cheer2: Again ladies, I would just like to say that you are the best bunch of people! I really enjoy "seeing" you all here on the thread and also reading your cool trip reports and all the pics of your lives.....in the past year, you have really helped me out and inspired me to no end! :grouphug: :disrocks: :disrocks:

Are you sure you don't get it. I have directv and it's channel 264.

Riley is doing o.k. She is definitely not 100%. We had some plans tonight and we scrapped them because she didn't feel like going anyplace. I don't know if I should have taken her in today or not. She isn't having the pains, she just described it as feeling sensitive.

Part of the stress from this comes from the fact that it is sometimes difficult to translate Riley's descriptions of her pain. It's getting easier than when she was little, but honestly I don't think she really knows "normal" so sometimes I'm not so sure if what she is saying is always accurately describing what is going on.

Anyway, she rested all day, so hopefully tomorrow she'll be back to normal.

Amy, that is wonderful!!!!

Sally, I am so sorry that happened to your cat! How does a cat die of fleas? Our cat (that ran away) had fleas so bad last year, it seems like nothing would get rid of them, until we got rid of the dog. Did he die of an infection from the bites??

I thought I might have to take my kitten to the vet today. He got a piece of string wrapped all around his little paw, and it was so tight I had to find a tiny pair of sharp scissors to get it off. He was such a good kitten though, he didn't struggle much when I tried to get it off. When I did cut it, he just layed in my arms for awhile. I think he was a bit traumatized.

I had a kitten that died from fleas. It had so many on it that they basically drained the kitties blood. Sorry to be graphic. I kept fighting the fleas the best that I could, but at that time I only had a minimum wage job and I couldn't afford the really expensive treatment that the kitten needed.

My sister was living in the country and had a dog that they could not get to stay close to home. It came home once and they locked it in the fence and fed it and even petted and played with it and then one day the dog was just really really sick. It turned out that the dog had a ton of infected flea bites near his little rear end. He had to be put down. The vet said that he was in too much pain and there wasn't much hope. I could be more graffic, but I won't because I know there are a lot of doggy lovers here and they probably wouldn't sleep tonight.

Just a reminder if you have pets to make sure and treat for fleas.

:flower3: First want to say you guys are all so talented! Now for my question- I see on ebay custom dresses with large fabric appliques on the bodice- not pieced appliques but one big print of Tink, or Aurora, Cinderella, etc. I have seen panels at Walmart, but these dresses have ones that look larger and nicer. Where can I buy these?
TIA!

I know better now. I didn't get a pet after that little kitten until I had a better job. I always give my dogs their heartworm treatment, flea treatment and all shots.

You might want to look for pillowcases. I have used pillowcases and sheets several times.
