I am skimming quick tonight because I am going to cut out some new outfits tonight so I gotta get to it before I get to tired!! Everything was super cute!! We're going to to dhs step sisters grad party and the kids NEED some thing new and cute to wear right?? She just graduated from medical school!

Wow! Everyone has been busy! Love it all! We had the Fancy Nancy party on Sunday and it was a blast, but soooooo exhausting! I just have a couple of buttons to sew onto my big give outfit and that will be done. Still need bows or something, though. I'm really hoping to post pics tomorrow!

We finally have all of the outfits done with 2 days to spare! Sorry for the wet hair, Erin was just out of the bath for the last batch of pics:

I love them all! And that is the coolest ricrac!!! But I think the LE one is my favorite.

I am sewing my dress for my son's graduation and I am really not happy with the dress (because is for me I am not that detail conscious) first I think the front is too deep ,maybe a little too revealing??

2007_06100033-2.jpg

and the front looks a little to funny (excess of fabric maybe?) so I added a ribbon to cover the "sins"

2007_06100021.jpg

this is the back but now I think I will change it into a halter style

2007_06100008.jpg

I am really thinking in doing it all over just halter style, what do you think???
BTW I would hate to have to start all over:mad:

Linnette

All I can think to say is that I wish my body would fit into something like that! You will look lovely however it turns out Linette.

I'm so excited to post my FIRST skirt! It's for my 4 year old DD and it's a pirate twirl skirt:

Sorry to be so breif, but i have been at the hospital with a friend who had a baby. Her family is out of state, and her husband had to drive 45 min home to take care of their dogs, she didn't expect to deliver today!

i forgot i had a picture of the quilt. it is a picture of it without the border and being quilted. it is at the quilters getting quilted now
th_mickeyquilt2.jpg
wow, that is beautiful! How long did that take to do?

I finished this on Sunday,

th_Pillowcasedress005.jpg

As you can see she so wanted to model it
She may be a reluctant model, but she's a cutie!!! The outfit is adorable!

I have some pics to share! First, I have my wonderful perm. This pic does not do it justice...I am at the pool, with some goofy smile. I got the perm because of the disboards!

2008_0602Image0008.jpg

Here is a one piece I made with some material my mom had. I didn't love the pattern, but it came out cute.

2008_0527Image0007.jpg

Another pooh dress, because one can't ever have too much pooh! This is CarlaC's simply sweet halter style pattern.

2008_0602Image0001.jpg

And I saved the best for last! This is my first CarlaC stipwork jumper. We went to the mountains for a few days for vacation and she NEEDED a mountain dress. I also made a matching dress for her doll. She loves it and I love the way it came out!

The outfits are beautiful! I especially love the princess toille! I love that fabric!

I have only been on the DIS for 2 months now but I am absolutely amazed at the overwhelming generosity and talent of the people on these boards The story of the Winkler family has just devestated me as I am sure it has many of you. The outfits that you are making for Isabelle are absolutely georgeous.

I just want to mention something to those who may be like me and are a little lacking in the creativity department :rolleyes1 Beth is also putting together a gift basket full of Disney items to be delivered to the room at the Winkler's resort. If anyone would like to contribute please contact Beth or myself and we will tell you where to mail the items.

The members of the DISign board are also contributing and are making an autograph book and a journal to name a couple of things. Someone also had a great idea to donate Disney Dollars.

So if there is anyone else like me who is unable to sew for the BIG GIVE but would like to contribute in some other way, please PM either Beth or myself.

Thank you for helping to sprinkle some Pixie Dust pixiedust: over a family that really could use some.

Have a great evening everyone.

Bonnie
Wow, that is such a wonderful thing to do!

I think it is beautiful, but it does look like it will be a little low for a graduation. Can you sew up the second dip?

I hope everyone is doing ok!!! How wonderful for your friend that you could be there!!!

And, is anyone else watching the game??

Come on RED WINGS!!!

They have to win, I just put a Red Wings sweatshirt on Lyddy!

But, this game is taking too long, so I have to go to bed!!! I'm sure I'll know by the tone of my husband's yelling what happened!

I am just lurking and looking at all the wonderful things you girls make.

I just had to say GO RED WINGS!!!! We are going into 3OT!! I have a final in the morning and I should be sleeping. My poor kids have no school, but have to get up and go somewhere because I do @@

Okay ladies I know you all will know the answer. I bought the girls some flip flops, I really wanted to add ribbon to them to make the look custom. Is there a link to a site that helps to break it down?

YouCanMakeThis.com has an ebook for customizing flip flops you might want to check it out.

Those are adorable, I love the lion ones especially! Did you make the lions out of ribbon? They look great :goodvibes

One more pic.....I finished this one last night too.

th_minniemousepillowcase.jpg
That is really cute, love the big dots, and your DD has such a pretty smile :cutie:

I was not totally happy with the front bow

th_2007_06090005.jpg

then I decided to add black ribbons and now I am not sure which looks better

with or without the black bow?

Linnette
I like it with the black because of the Mickey and Minnie decals but either way would be cute.

Henry is very handsome, we'd love to see him in uniform! Yes, my nephew is getting married in L.A. on Saturday so of course we have to run down to Disneyland for a day (Sunday). Just Jayden and I are flying out. Mike didn't have enough vacation and I wasn't about to take all 4 kids by myself. My 2 sisters are also going with me and each of them is bringing one of their kids. I don't remember the last time I was at Disneyland without a baby in a stroller! And Jayden is fearless--loves all the rides. It will be fun, but we will have my baby niece with us (19 months) to slow us down :lmao: I even made reservations at Blue Bayau which I love but only ate there once before with all the kids and all I remember is that they were naughty.

Here are the bracelets I made for Jayden and myself. I think I picked up these ceramic beads at Disneyland last October. For those wondering, they are wherever you see those little make your own bracelet/necklace stands in the gift shops. I bought the cutest nemo, crush and dory beads to make Lily a bracelet to match her nemo dress for Disneyworld and I lost nemo. I actually ran out of time and never made my girls any matching jewelery for that trip :headache:

Jayden's: (I was going to do a red mickey head but she wanted the minnie bow)

What an adorable dress and an adorable little girl too :goodvibes I'm almost tempted to buy this pattern even though I don't have kids just because it's so cute! I do have several little cousins though so I guess I could use sewing for them as an excuse

I've just recently learnt about the Big Give and I think it's pretty much testament to how great the internet can be in bringing people together for a cause. I bet Isabelle will love all of the outfits everyone has made and yours are no exception.. The princess seersucker one is beautiful :goodvibes

Awesome work, I love the Little Einsteins dress especially and the Minnie applique. Was the Mickey head button from the scrapbooking set of them? I was looking for some on eBay and those were all I could find and I wasn't sure if there would be sticky stuff on the back or anything? If they're useable for sewing I may just have to buy some ::yes::

Yes, the Mickey button is from the scrapbooking set. We took the sticky adhesive off and sewed it on the bow. Mom also did not sew it on the top but used a safety pin instead. I didn't know how it would do in the wash and wanted to be safe. So we also have the option of making it a plain Mickey if we want.

Concrats on getting them all done! We all know how it feels to get so close to the trip and still be working! I finsihed one of our vacation dresses 8 hours before I left! And I LOVE the little einsteins dress. I am still not sure what to do with my material, but I want to wait a little longer to see if little one will grow more!

They are all beautiful, but I love the tink headband the best. I still don't know how to make my bows so pretty. I guess once I finish all my outfits for Disney and IF I have time I can try.

This is seriously your first skirt? :worship: :worship: :worship:
I  it! WAY TOO CUTE! WOW!

I haven't sewn since my late teens (ummm, it wasn't THAT long ago! (snicker!) and that was only matching boxer shorts that my Girl Guide friends and I made to wear over our long johns at winter camp!

I love patchwork twirl skirts!!! You did a great job! I can't believe you did a patchwork skirt for your FIRST skirt! :worship:

I thought that it wouldn't be that hard, I watched my Mum sew nearly all of my and my brother's clothes when we were kids. Clearly sewing is not absorbed by osmosis! Next project is a pair of easyfit "manpris" for DS from the same pirate fabric, and a new pirate bandana to match.

That is awesome, I love anything pirate themed and I think the fabric is just perfect for this skirt :)

You really can't find cute pirate stuff for girls (well, except at WDW!). We were lucky last year we found a pink skull & crossbones dress at H & M, that DD can wear this year as a long t-shirt. She does like what her older brother likes, but she's girly too.

That is a great skirt...and it is your first? WOW! I love the colors in it, and I love twirl skirt. I think I might make one with all the leftover Disney fabric!

Maybe not the easiest garment to start with, but as they say "go big or go home!" now I'm going to make easyfit pants and not curse at my sewing machine quite as much! (Don't worry, I curse under my breath, in French, after the kids go to bed. And it's only "faux" cursing anyway!)
