I have seen lavender rick rack at our Walmart. It is in the craft aisle on small spools. We don't have a fabric department in this one :( but do they do sell sewing machines, needles and thread in the same aisle.

Hi Wendy..since Rick rack is cotton, have you though about dying it. Rit dye would work well.

Thanks for the idea - I never would have thought of that!!

I'll have to check that area too - thanks for the idea!!

I love the quilt. I think I could do that... maybe I should try.

BIG GIVE UPDATE! All I can say is, I've learned a lot! I was up last night really late stitching out a design that is new to me. I wasn't happy with it. SO, I stitched it out again this afternoon and did it this time like a patch. WELL, that sorta worked. I learned a few things there too. Wasn't completely happy with it. SO, I'm stitching it out now for the third time. I'm HOPING that I'll have a pic to post tonight. Fingers crossed.

Very cool! Someday I will get started on my I Spy Disney quilt. I just keep thinking new fabrics will come out and I'll be sad if they aren't included :rotfl2: But seriously, I love collecting different fabrics for my squares. I bought a Lion King sheet set today on :wizard: I had to run from the computer to keep from ordering Ratatouille fabric from Asia :scared1:

You ARE still around!! I was wondering where you'd went to!

I'm here! :yay: I just lurk mostly...it's just about IMPOSSIBLE to keep up with everyone around here! :scared1:

I was not totally happy with the front bow

2007_06090005.jpg

then I decided to add black ribbons and now I am not sure which looks better

with or without the black bow?

Linnette

I  it with the black bow! SOOO cute! Love the Minnie & Mickey...and your other Big Gives are just awesome!!!

So, I totally hopped on board the Big Give and I had a blast making a couple of outfits for Miss Isabelle (STINKING CUTIE!!!)...I'm a bit nervous to post them because they're very simple...and I notice a lot of you are doing these amazing applique's and just incredible/elaborate outfits! Anyway, Miss Cammie said it best and I appreciate and :lovestruc her words! So, while I'm sure my outfits won't get worn on their trip, I'm just hopeful they will make Isabelle and Alicia smile and anticipate their trip a little more...and no matter what, I got to learn a little bit about a super incredible family and be a part of this BIG GIVE! Thanks again, Mousetriper....YOU ROCK!!! :cool1:

Loe it with the black bow. I also think it would look great with some yellow added.

Jayden's: (I was going to do a red mickey head but she wanted the minnie bow)

Very cute! My dd is often the same way!

Ladies you have been very chatty today! :rotfl: I would like to thank everyone for the kind words about the girls and the recital. To answer a couple of Q's about it.
1. The little ones danced to Ease on Down the Road. There were a few older girls in great lion costumes. Very cute. And now I have Dorothy outfits for dress up and Halloween.
2. To whoever said it... it was a busy 4 days! Glad its over!!: :thumbsup2
3. My older DD who is 10 (she does look way older with all that makeup!) danced to a mix of songs from Little Mermaid. It was so cool. They did the movie in 5 min complete with a Ariel, Ursala, Sebastian, Prince Eric, a wedding and everything!
4. I don't think DD10 does lyrical ballet mostly cause neither one of us knew what that was...:rotfl:
5. All three were in the finale which was High School Musical. Again it was a collection of several songs. It was cool too since there were so many kids on stage and they had lots of energy! :dance3:

I really loved the other recital posts/and cheerleading! The girls are just precious!! I think its so important to expose children to a variety of things! ::yes::

ps
Miss Cammie - I really like what you said about the Big Give.

pss
I loved the Minnie dresses posted today too

:laundy: OK gotta fold laundry (never ending) and watch Little People BW/Jon and Kate +8. Its my only tv night/time. Garsh I am exhausted. School wiped me out :teacher:

I have some pics to share! First, I have my wonderful perm. This pic does not do it justice...I am at the pool, with some goofy smile. I got the perm because of the disboards!

Here is a one piece I made with some material my mom had. I didn't love the pattern, but it came out cute.

2008_0527Image0007.jpg

Another pooh dress, because one can't ever have too much pooh! This is CarlaC's simply sweet halter style pattern.

And I saved the best for last! This is my first CarlaC stipwork jumper. We went to the mountains for a few days for vacation and she NEEDED a mountain dress. I also made a matching dress for her doll. She loves it and I love the way it came out!

OH! and Your DD is absolutely ADORABLE!!! :lovestruc Her glasses just make me smile! My DS10 got his first pair at 3, my DD12 at 5 (doesn't need them anymore) and my DS6 got his at 5. I just think glasses are the cutest!
::yes::

AHA Sugarbees, I saw your photos in our bugsnbees photobucket account! They are adorable! I'm putting bracelet photos in there now so you can post them together.

the only fabric we bought for that quilt was the black. the rest of the material was from material my mom found at my grandmothers house when they were cleaning it out. we have like a gazillion tubs of fabric from her.
