I Can't Believe We Ate the Whole Thing! 15 Nights of DDP with photos...!

Oh. Poor guys. They thought they'd bite into something warm, chocolatey, and delicious, but instead they got floury goo!

Now I'm disappointed - I was really looking forward to trying Cookes of Dublin as an alternative to my Yorkshire County Fish Shop fish and chips fix (wow, that's a mouthful - try saying it quickly :rotfl: )

What a shame you didn't enjoy it - the sausages are actually a pork sausage (rather than beef like your hotdogs usually are) and while they don't have the flavour of a hotdog, they do have the texture. I'm surprised about the tartare sauce - they are the same sausages as Raglan Road serves as an appetiser, with honey mustard dip - go figure :confused3

More than anything else, I am upset that the only option for the Doh bars is Snickers - you know how I feel about peanuts :sad2:

Still loved your review though - it's the way you tell 'em :thumbsup2

Cooke's has never been on our list, and it doesn't look like it will be making the list anytime soon. Of course part of that is because when I first saw it I thought is said Cookies and I was expecting cookies - you know, sweet, buttery, crunchy cookies. I've never been able to disassociate, so we've never really considered it an option.

I'm caught up now on both your reports, food and trip and your food reviews are making me drool even this early in the morning. I'm with your son-fried fish needs ketchup!:thumbsup2 The tartar sauce is the GACK! with me!:rotfl: I especially appreciate your review of the Doh Bar b/c it was something I plan on trying on our next trip...now I know to ask for it well done!

Well, now back to eating my yogurt for breakfast.:sad1:

Okay, wow. Just wow. Here I thought I was getting all of my reservations down to a "T", but then I read this!!! ;) I read from the end, and have only gotten thru maybe half of this....I'm trying not to drool! Someone please tell me where the Earl Of Sandwich is, and why have I never eaten there??!!! Yum. And the desserts, oh the desserts.....you've got to make me a list of all of the counter service spots that are a must do. Come on, do it for a fellow WI gal, won't you? ;)

Thank you for the awesome report. Your son is adorable!!!! pirate:

Yup, their Doh Bars were oozing liquid batter. When they tried their candy bars, they both got mouthfuls of floury goo along with the melted candy. :sad2:

Overall, not a highlight, but we did try a new restaurant and we still had 2 CS credits to use. Now, we would be hungry for them! :thumbsup2

:scared: :scared: YUCK!

Someone please tell me where the Earl Of Sandwich is, and why have I never eaten there??!!!

The Earl of Sandwich is in Downtown Disney, across from Goofy's Candy Company. They're actually a chain with five other locations, one of which is right near where we live.

We went there last weekend... not nearly as busy as the Disney one, obviously, but the food was just as good.

Oh, that explains why I've never had those make your own krispy treats either!! ;) Thank you! I had no idea that Earl of Sandwich was a chain; must look for one near me. :yay:

Still loving your reviews! Man, the only drawback of reading this thread is I always get hungry after =)

Good job!

Just read your whole report and it was great! Pictures were fabulous. We had a similar experience as you at Cooke's of Dublin. We were really looking forward to it and it was a disappointment. One of the few we have ever had at Disney. Soggy fish and chips suppers almost inedible. We will not be back for a while, too many other great places to go.

I told Max today that someone else likes ketchup on fish - he said to tell you :thumbsup2 :thumbsup2 !!

Thanks Courtney! I do too... ;)

Good job!

Gosh, those doh bars look good. Were there any other kinds, or just the snickers? Again, great reviews! Love the pictures!

Just got all caught up on your reviews-

That Hugs cheesecake looks yummy- I may have to make a trip over to SSR next time!

Something about the phrase "Pasta action stations" makes me giggle.

Interested to see how you use up all of those credits!

HAAAAAA!!!!!!! :rotfl: Okay that made me laugh out loud!! The mental pictures.......:rotfl2:

The fish was good - and I'd always order my Doh Bar well done ;). Maybe you could bring them a nice milky way or something?? :rotfl:

I was surprised by the tartar sauce too. Strange. I was expecting little tiny sausages with a honey mustard too. :confused3

But since most of my reports are so positive, I thought we were due a mediocre one.

:rotfl: !!! This sounded so much like a friend of mine I had to double check your screen name!

Mmmmmm....cookies....

Oh my....those tacos look gooooood!!!!!!!!!! YUM. Yet another addition to my notes on dining.... :) Thank you!

They were great - I hope you enjoy!

Anything for another WI girl! I'd be happy to supply a list of our favorites ;)

Thakn you! Mine was excellent - make sure you order yours well done so as not to get liquid batter. And when we were there it was just Snickers - but that's my favorite, so I was happy.:goodvibes

We had eight snack credits left and had a BLAST shopping at Goofys:

BCV5-14-07snackcreditsw.jpg

Pictured here from left to right:

Pooh character chocolates, Mickey Pez, Goofy's sweet tart candies - in shapes of Mickey, Minnie, Goofy and Donald, Mickey large chocolate coins, Mickey suckers, Goofy's sour candies, Goofy's powder candy stick, Mickey Grahams.

We brought all of this home (okay, except most of the Pooh chocolates, which DS gobbled down) and we will use it as memory souvies all summer - one item at a time.

Snack credits left?

Zero!

Turkey and Provolone Panini served with potato chips:

These were surprisingly very good! They had them already made and then heated them up in the press for us. DH took them back to the room while I bought an ice cream for DS, so it was a wait before we ate them. They were still very warm and fresh. Crispy bread, melty cheese and the turkey was also very good. I don't know what kinds of greens they had on this, but they were excellent.

We left the chips until later.

DS wanted the fruit plate - this is a EXCELLENT cash value if you were not using the DDP. $3.49 for all this:

Orange, kiwi, strawberries, canteloupe, honeydew, grapes, pineapple and strawberry yogurt. Everything was fresh and delicious! DS ate some and we saved the rest for breakfast the next day.

For desserts:

DS picked this Carrot cake out. He has a weakness for carrot and pumpkin cakes with cream cheese frosting (I raised him well, eh? :rotfl: ) and had a little of this and liked it. We all shared it later and it was very rich, and very good.

DH and I both ordered the banana split cake again (there were two of these):

As before, excellent!!

In the end we used up our last two CS credits for a great midnight snack/makeup dinner and one BWV CS credit.

VWL credits left? Zero!

DDP Cost: $266.00
Money "Spent": $432.58
Money "Saved": $166.58

Here I sit, at 4:00 in the morning, with a cup of coffee. I sure could go for one of those banana split cakes, right now :coffee: or even one of those turkey/provolone paninis. It all looks good to me!

Thanks for posting that candy from Goofy's Candy Co! That is one of my must stops, and I'm sure some of that would make great souvenirs!!

turkey and provolone=yummy! love the look of that sandwich.

carrot cake or pumpkin cake with cream cheese frosting= double yummy!!!
and yes you did raise him right to love that stuff! its sooooo good!!

fruit platter=wow does that look good. i love fruit when it's hot out. it's a nice snack. sometimes my dh and ds will have sandwiches for lunch in the summer and i might just have a bowl of fruit.

i have so enjoyed this thread. thank you so much. you have given me so many ideas for our trip.

That panini looked WONDERFUL! PANINI=YUMMOLICIOUS! Thanks for showing that! I can't wait to eat at the BW Bakery! YUMMO!:thumbsup2
