Come celebrate FREE dining with me!!!

Free dining is only offered with certain packages at a specified time of the year. This year it is late August to late September. I believe its 8/26 - 9/22. You must check in one of those specified days to qualify for free dining. It's Disney's way to try and encourage people to come during their slow periods. Sorry this is not applicable in July.

Thanks for filling me in. Sounds wonderful, and its "food" for thought when planning our next trip. Sadly, I can't change my trip, but to all of you: A round of applause for being such smart travellers!!!

I have already booked thru Triple A for Sept 18th- 24th at the Poly with the dining plan. Total price $3200.00. My question is.....after the 12th of this month will I be able to get free dining? In other words, will my travel agent take off the price of the dining plan for me???

Yes. just call your travel agent and explain that you want to take advantage of the free dining offer. He/she will put in the new codes and your cost will drop considerably. The discount may not be exactly what you paid for the dining plan (as certain discounts are not applicable with free dining) but you will see a substantial savings. We booked a few weeks ago at the Poly for the 2nd week in Sept when rumors began about free dining, and we changed it over this morning.

if you book online how do you get this discount.. i cant book via phone as my disney visa has not arrived yet.. but i can book online with it as long as im logged into the website. does it automatically take it off or will i need to call and get it changed? anyone know?

eta: Is it valid for my whole stay if i start my trip on sept 20th and end in oct. or do i have to be there during those dates.

As long as you are checking in during the dates listed, you can qualify for free dining, even if your stay extends beyond the dates.

sept. 20-23 @ Pop!!!! wooohooooooooooo!!!! of course, it's not quite an anniversary trip anymore since my DD decided she wanted to come along too, but it's Disney! who cares! congrats to everyone else who got this great deal!

September 20-29 at POR!!! :cool1: Five Looooooooong months to go!!! :faint:

Oh and I had a great castmember who helped me. :yay: She said that she started at 8am and when she arrived there were already 150 calls holding!

I have a question if anyone can help? I'm already booked at an offsite condo for 9/15-9/22 but I was thinking of maybe coming early and booking a free dining package at one of the value resorts. Is the free dining offered for 3 day packages or is it for 5 day only?

I think this may be a good idea because park tickets would hardly be any extra, but what kind of rates would the value hotel be per day with the free dining?

Any help would be appreciated in helping me make up my mind!!

Thank-you!!

It is a 3 night minimum so you should be fine if you wanted to come a little early! However, you have to buy your park tickets with the free dining, but it should be fine to buy more than you are staying for free dining and use them after you move resorts.

I feel like a Sidney Bristow from Alias with my 4 am wake up call, top secret codes, and special access card (aka, Disney VISA). Can't wait until this fall!

Anyone who was there last year during free dining were the crowds really bad????

 We are going in August, can't go in Late August or September! So while most of you are :dance3: I'm  SO MUCH FOR A YEAR OF A MILLION DREAMS - FOR ME IT CAME US ONE SHORT!:headache:

I finally got it!!!!!:cool1: August 23 - 31 at the ALSMU!!! It took about 45 minutes and making two reservations, but I did get the Free Dining!!!!! We had it last year and really enjoyed our trip. There were not alot of people in the parks but there were alot trying to get into the resturants that we were in! Sadly, they got turned away.

Oh thank you for your help.

Does anyone know then on Thursday when it is released to the masses do I just call in and tell them I want a free dining package or will I need a code?

I did a price check on their site for a 3 day package. Can I just book that and then call in and have the free dining added or????

Sorry for all the questions....newbie here!!

I just can't believe it's for real. I'm pinching myself. Poly-8 nights, free dining!!!

My men love their big dinners- and with my Dad being retired and on social security now and myself being disabled. . .this is truly a pixie dust fairy-godmother send for us. . .*happy tears*!

Just tell me this, the free thing really works? I mean, you book your package, you pay for it, you show up and they FEED you for free? LOL I feel like a pirate: LOL

Anyone who was there last year during free dining were the crowds really bad????

We were there last week in August in 2005 and last week of September in 2006. Crowds were light to light/moderate. The only time I saw anything I would even consider moderate crowds was Labor Day weekend in 2005. It wasn't even free dining people then, mostly locals from Georgia and Florida up for the weekend.

I'm going to be at POP century September 8 - 16th. :cool1:

I was going to book All Star Sports because it tends to be less crowded, but the Surfboard pool is being refurbished then. A little FYI to anyone who plans on booking there in September.

We added free dining to our Sept 16-23 trip, staying at Pop. We had put our deposit down on our bank Visa check card when we first booked back in January, so they just credited our bank account and then charged the deposit to our Disney Visa. It was easy as pie, didn't need the code or anything.

We went late September last year during free dining. We noticed that the resort (Pop Century) was very crowded. But, the atmosphere at the resort was so much fun! I met so many nice people and everyone seemed to be in a great mood. In fact, the pop century was at capacity.

The buses were pretty crowded, but they ran often. We never had to wait long for one. We did not notice the parks to be all that crowded.

I hope this helps.

Me Me Me Me Me Me Me!!!!!

We booked the POP Preferred Room 9/15 thru 9/20 for 4 rooms! I'm so excited!! I called my AAA agent this morning, and she didn't even know that the promo was out yet. She thanked me for doing her job today! =)

Yes you get feed free and really good food too. We got the free dining last and I just called and got it again this year. We will be at AS-Sports from 8/27 to 9/3. It's great to have extra money now for more souveniers. Now I just gotta wait until the Princess & Pirate party tickets go on sale. With the extra savings it won't be such a pinch in our pockets now. :)
