My DH's work party is Thursday and he needs me to get a gender neutral gift for approx. $25 - 30. He hates to get a gift cert. if he doesn't have to. Anybody have any good ideas? These are mostly men/women in the 35-55 age range.
Thanks!

What about a combined GC gift....go to the dollar store and get a nice bucket or basket and put a box of microwave popcorn, a 2L bottle of soda, some candy and a gift card to Blockbuster or whatever local movie store you have. Then take colored celophane (found at Michael's or AC Moore) and cover it like an Easter basket with ribbon. I've made this before and it is a big hit and is gender neutral.

The most popular gift I ever took to a Yankee Swap was a little fountain/garden thingie I got at Bed Bath and Beyond...it was maxed out on steals.

Another good one is a nice bottle of liquor and something to mix it with....Irish Cream and a good bag of coffee for example.

Alcohol always works well for me. :rolleyes1 You could get a bottle of wine and two wine glasses (they sell them at Target) and you would be set.

Blockbuster GC with some candies and/or popcorn works well. A nice fruit basket/food basket would do well also. I went to Harry and David store yesterday and they had tons of stuff there.

You could go to Bed/Bath/Beyond, Pier One, Container Store, Crate and Barrell and find fun stuff.

Barnes and Noble, Starbucks, Dunkin Donuts, Grocery Store, GC's are a good bet as well.

Dh and I always bring alcohol to these things, and they always get stolen many times. I just had one last week and I got some Christmas goblets and a bottle of wine.

puchase a Chia head and stuff a $20 (or scratch tickets) into it. Let the "loser" in the Yankee swap be a winner. Everyone will scramble to NOT get it and the one left with it will be pleasantly surprised :thumbsup2

Women don't use flashlights ? I probably use one around the house or in the car more often than my husband does.

I don't really use them... I guess? It doesn't seem too gifty I guess.

The gift-worthiness of it might be somewhat questionable for some women. But since this is for her DH to put into the game, it is a relatively neutral yet somewhat "manly" item to put in :). Especially if it is a shiny, cool-looking MagLite. The men will fight over it :lmao:. Men always seem to get stuck playing in this game with very few items that they are even interested in getting.

We're doing this kind of swap this year and I'm having such a hard time finding a gift that both men and women would appreciate. We've said no booze, no gift cards, and no lottery tickets. What's left? :rotfl2: Kidding, of course, but I'm really having a tough time finding something appropriate in the $30 range.

Check out the gift basket thread...there are many ideas from movie baskets to different food baskets, coffees/teas, golf, etc. Alot of ideas and plenty of loot for $30! http://disboards.com/showthread.php?t=1577395&page=13 post #195
