Can anyone compare the resort activities available at the WL or Riviera vs Poly or GF for kids? We stayed at the Poly last year and my daughter loved the evening glow party on the lawn with dancing/ games, movies, a busy splash pad with many kids to play with etc. Do WL/ Riviera get a lot of participation in the evening activities and at the splash pad or is it more laid back? I don't think I saw a glow party listed as an activity at Wilderness Lodge or Riviera.

Just came back from a stay at both the Poly and WL. The Poly definitely had more "active" kids activities, especially at night. They had the glow parties, kids were dancing and having a great time. At the WL it was more of just roasting marshmallows and movies/trivia, definitely more laid back. Even if you aren't staying at the Poly, your kids can participate. I think the arts and crafts were more varied at the Poly, too. No experience at Riviera.

i remember there being arts and crafts in the community hall at Riviera.

Resort activities aren't something I pay attention to so I don't really remember what else was going on...

We've stayed at both relatively recently with kids.

Marshmallow roasting seems to happen at every deluxe resort -- in, fact I can't think of a single one we've stayed at where that didn't happen. Same thing with pool games -- and the quality of the pool games at any particular resort really comes down to the CM who is in charge of them on that day. Same thing with outdoor movies.

I recall a community room at Riviera with some activities. I don't recall one at WL -- doesn't mean it's not there, I just don't remember seeing it. With that said, the community room at Riviera is effectively like a multi function room at a hotel. It's not somewhere that I'd imagine my kid spending loads of time. It's a brightly-lit, bland, interior room where they just so happen to do kids' activities sometimes.

I don't recall any additional kids' activities programming beyond those at either RIV or WL. It sounds like Poly is better in this respect. Beyond official programming, though, there's loads for kids to do at either resort. I wouldn't worry about them being bored at either.
